Shocking service. AVOID

Found a nice looking Audi S3 saloon motorhouse was selling. Contacted them too set up a finance agreement on the car which went through very quick, sent a £250 deposit on the 14th of June, to hold the car, asked too view the car on Saturday and was told sorry the car isn’t here it’s away for a pre sale inspection. No problem, seemed okay, was then supposed too be collecting the car on the following Saturday being the 21st of June, too be called on Friday and told sorry we still don’t have the car it’s away for detailing.

Now after a whole week you would’ve thought they’d of been getting the car ready, Ash at motorhouse assured me the car would be back for 5PM, and if it wasn’t then it’d be having a service. None of which I asked for, I just wanted too collect the car. so I agreed to set off at 4:15 to collect the car, very skeptical on if it even existed at this point, Ash couldn’t give me a photo of the car in the show room at 4:30, so rather than waste my time I called and cancelled the finance agreement. Too be told by Ash “ Not to worry as we had plenty of calls on the car ”

I am still £250 out of pocket as they haven’t sent me my money back for the FULLY refundable deposit as I was assured in an email it would be,

AVOID DEALING WITH THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COST. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND CON ARTIST.

I would never deal with this company again be careful of what they offer you in terms of finance because what they tell you and the actual is vastly different . Added to that trying to complain is impossible, The Salesman would not proved direct contact details of their MD , quoting Sam as the contact, had no formal complaints procedure. I intend to take my case to the ombudsman as they refused to engage

Shocking communication and customer service t

I will list the catalogue of poor service that I received from the team at Motorhouse.

1. On the day that I was due to view the vehicle, I received a call at 11am (an hour before my apointment), to state the car was not ready to take away due to a fault with the roof (convertable) This was frustrating as they were made aware prior to the appointment that my journey to them would take two hour's.

2. Upon getting the phone call, I informed them we would come to look at the car to either rule it in or out,as we were already half way there.
Upon our arrival at 12, as agreed, me and my partner were left waiting for two hours, being told occasionally the car would be arriving soon from the garage.
When the car arrived at 2pm, two hours after our appointment, I test drove the car. Full payment for the car was made, on the basis that the cars roof would be fixed, the wheels were restored as they were badley scuffed and the dent would be pulled out from the nearside rear quarter panel.

3. A courtesy car was provided to me for for the interim period whilst the car was being fixed to a standard for sale. Shockingly, a week after receiving and driving the courtesy car, I completed a ulez compliance check only to discover that the car did not have everything i needed despite, being told it was being ordered whilst I was in the showroom. I called to complain and after my second call that day the issue was rectified.

4. After a couple off weeks and several calls to them asking for updates (due to the lack of communication), I was informed my car was ready, it was arranged that it would be delivered to me the next day, which was a Thursday.

I was called on the Thursday to be told the car wasn't coming as there was still an issue with the roof, and the car was going back to the garage and would be likely ready either Friday or Monday. This was very frustrating but I appreciated that the car was not up to standard and it was being rectified.

5. An hour or so later I was called again asking if somebody could make the 4 hour round trip to swap the courtesy car I had for another car, as someone wanted to purchase the car I had.

Admittedly this was the point I became somewhat blunt and annoyed as what this indicated to me is that there was no intention of my car being delivered the next day or Monday as promised.
I was absolutely correct with this assumption as I did not receive my car for another week.

6. When my car was delivered to me, the invoice I was asked to sign had my partners details on it. This happened despite informing the staff on every communication that the details should be in my name and not his.

7. Along with the invoice having the incorrect details, none of the proof of the work carried out to the roof or the wheels was sent with the rest of the service information to me.

8. The second key for the car was absent.

9. The £250 compensation I was promised due to the lack of communication, poor customer service and tax error was not sent with the driver.

10. The work carried out to the wheels seemed to be a less than an adequate rattle can spray job, which on closer inspection had resulted in paint overspray on my bodywork which my partner had to spend hours using compound polish to remove it.

11. The dent in the rear quarter panel was still present even after having email confirmation that this would be sorted.

12. Two month's later, despite several emails and promises, I have still not recieved the invoices for the repair works carried out to the roof, or more importantly my second car key.

I would actively discourage anyone who expects any level of customer service to use this garage. I am truly shocked at the poor communication and lack of follow through with promises made.

Questionable MOT, Unreliable Service, and Shady Practices

I recently purchased a vehicle from Motor House Bedford and unfortunately, the experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. The car came with a “fresh” MOT and was supposedly fully serviced and inspected by their in-house team. But from the moment I got it, it was clear that something wasn’t right.

There were mechanical issues that no genuine MOT or proper service should have missed. It makes me seriously question the legitimacy of the MOT certificate that was issued. In my opinion, the MOT is either falsified or carried out with zero care or integrity. The supposed service? Just words on paper. Either it was done incompetently, or not at all.

What’s even more suspicious is the delay they caused in allowing me to collect the vehicle—stalling until the 3-month period had passed, conveniently putting it outside the window where VOSA can investigate and dispute an MOT. That’s not just poor customer service; it feels deliberately dishonest.

Their in-house repairs and servicing are not to be trusted. I wouldn’t recommend this dealership to anyone. If you're thinking of buying from Motor House Bedford, do yourself a favor: have the car independently inspected, and don’t rely on their paperwork or promises.

Wonderful experience here honestly could recommend any more, the whole team made buying a £80k car a better experience than anywhere else I’ve ever bought a vehicle from, please note to anyone that sees this, if you met the team you’d know any negative review is a hoax and a fake review or not meant to be under motorhousebeds.

AVOID like the plague, false documents and untrustworthy sellers

Bought a Nissan navara and had to pay for delivery due to being some distance away. First the truck didn’t turn up on the day arranged for delivery and then when the truck was delivered (a week later) it was driven to me and not on a transporter as I had paid for. The truck had no fuel and driver and his wife had to be driven to the train station as they had no way to get there. I was promised to be given compensation for delivery charges, fuel and also transport I had to pay for when they left me a whole week waiting for the truck to arrive.

Very quickly a squeak started and an oil leak, and mark up the doors from previous vinyls that had been removed. I contacted Motorhouse and was told they would send someone to pick the car up, drive it down for repair and back. I refused this option as it would add on 100s of miles! I wanted to take it to the local garage and they agreed but again I ended up paying the bill! I also had to pay for extensive body work to remove the glue from the paintwork as any dirt would highlight this.

When going through the documents for the truck there were 2 false documents. I actually contacted the companies where the work had been done and they confirmed this, but then there were also documents from Motorhouse with the same work being invoices at a greater price! Who would do 2 services with 3 miles difference on the clocks?? I also questioned the MOT and put it into my local garage for a full check as I felt uneasy putting my children in the truck.

I spent so much time and stress getting this vehicle and trying to sort out the issues. I was promised over and over again to have refunds and things paid for and this never happened. I would urge anyone to stay away from these cowboys and spend your money elsewhere. The finance company I used have even removed them from their trusted seller system as they couldn’t believe the difficulties that arose.

Again what a rip off

Again what a rip off
Bought a Porsche 991 turbo, ok for a few months , then no boost I took it to an independent and the price for repair is about £5k . So contacted Alex about the issue and the warranty that was given after ,calling the warranty company no reff of that regg so lying about a none existent warranty ,
So we contacted our litigation barrister and he asked for the warranty company and the case no to the apparent claim nothing back from motor house ,so on his advice as they haven’t offered a repair under the consumer rights act I can pay for the repair and invoice them the amount along with a STATUARY DEMAND this is a no cost application for payment so every one look into it as it gives them 21 days to pay other wise you can wind up there company so bankrupt them if it’s not paid

STAY AWAY!

Please don’t just rely on Google reviews. I found TrustPilot insightful.

We visited MotorHouse on 03.11.24, after seeing the car on AutoTrader. On inspection, there was a minor issue with the fuel cap. We played around with it for 10 mins, the sales guy too, & I finally managed to find a knack of how to open it (still an issue). We were also told there was only 1 key (which was in fact wrong).

I collected the car on 06.11.24. I had a 30 min drive home & during, noticed the engine management light was on. Once home my husband took a look & called MH straight away. They assured us that it was likely because the service had just been done & that it would go out. My husband knew this could be the case.

The next day the light had gone out but I noticed the car was making a sort of clicking/clunking noise when going round corners. My husband took it for a test drive & immediately came back & confirmed that it was either the drive shaft or CV Joints.

09.11.24 we made our way back over to MH. They said the car would go to a garage in MK. We got into the courtesy car & began to make our way home. It wasn’t until we were 10 mins down the road we realised that the car was running on fumes & the tyre pressure warning light had come on. Brilliant. We actually ended up behind our car, that was being driven to MK. When we saw the driver turn off towards Newport Pagnell, we thought we’d follow so we knew where the car was going to be. But the driver of our car didn’t go to a garage, he turned around on a roundabout & pulled up in a layby in an industrial estate. In hindsight we should have stopped & asked what he was doing/where he was going (it was our car after all), however we took it as genuine & that perhaps he’d stopped to make a call. Something niggled, so I decided to email MH to ask where my car was being worked on. They ignored 2 emails and were unhelpful on the phone.

12.11.24 (am) my husband called for an update & was told someone would call him back in 30mins. After no call back, I called them back at 3.30pm & was told that the driveshaft was being replaced. I asked what garage it was at, was put on hold for & then told that someone deliver the car to us.

14.11.24 the car was delivered at 6pm. I moved the car to the drive & noticed the radio was off. I put it on & thought it sounded very quiet & far away. My husband came home & asked if I’d driven the car, I hadn’t but did say that I thought the radio sounded “different”. He went to investigate & within 60 seconds found the problem. Someone had blown our drivers door Bose speaker. Not only had they blown it, they had gone out of their way to move the fader to the back of the car. SNEAKY! My husband took the car for a spin round the block to realise the car still had noise coming from the driveshaft (it was quieter but still there). He got straight on the phone. He didn’t get a chance to mention the driveshaft still being noisy because Alex had the cheek to say that it was our word against theirs. We forgot to mention that when the car was dropped off to us, an invoice for “Electronic repairs” for our car was found on the passenger seat. Coincidence?! There was also a Galaxy chocolate bar wrapper in the door, poor. After some toing & froing, it was agreed MH would replace the speaker for a 2nd hand one from eBay. My husband had already made up his mind that MH were not laying a finger on our car again & told them that the speaker was to be delivered to our home.

I was promised the speaker would be delivered on 16.12.24, it never turned up. The replacement was finally delivered on 04.01.25, only for it to be wrong! We specifically stated that it was the drivers door speaker & this was reiterated during a phonecall with Sam on 31.12.24. We messaged straight away with a picture of the incorrect speaker & received a response that someone would get back to us on Monday. No repsonse. 3 more messages + calls, before finally getting a reply with another excuse.

28.01.25 - no speaker

I’m restricted on words, so there’s a lot left out.

What absolute phonies.

Where to start… First hour after…

Where to start… First hour after getting the car engine management light comes on. I have to take it back the next day and mention about the noises when going over speed bumps, Alex told me he would sort it all! 3 days go by with little to no communication finally car is dropped back to me at 18:30pm, no EML light however I’m told no issues with suspension or drop link (remember this line for later)

Next morning noises are still there and now cruise control coming up with error and stop/start not working, tried to send me to warranty so I argued and took the car back to Alex who gave me one of the cars for sale as a courtesy car, they had the car a little under 2 weeks without it moving much as had tracker on the car to show it hasn’t been taken anywhere other than driving it around stacking up the miles. Finally after not responding to me and telling me it was at a specialist (never went) I went there to collect the car telling me it’s all been sorted! Finally I thought!! What a fool I was…

Got to Motorhouse and car is presented with 2 flat tyres, offered to pay for the repair or replacement however he never paid for anything! Someone was also meant to come to our house to repair the drivers seat… never happened.

Anyway 2 days pass and shock the cruise control system error comes up again… and now Alex isn’t responding to my messages, I call and told he’s busy.

My wife driving round with my 2 small children in the car which Motorhouse knew was not safe for the road and didn’t want to tell me this!

The truth is the drop link had completely come out it’s joint and lodged itself in another component, there was multiple system errors for the brakes/cruise control.

The suspension near on collapsing but never said a word, letting my wife drive off with a 3 and 4 year old knowing it could go at any time and potentially cause a fatal accident.

Lodged a complaint on the 8th April 2024 and after months of back and forth and taking it to the ombudsman now 31/10/2024 the car is finally collected and taken away, over £1000 out of pocket through payments that I don’t get back, supplying dealer lied about the mileage on the sale making it look like we’d done 1597 miles in 12 days of actually having the car. 3 different people looking at the car to get quotes to fix with an eye watering £3589! And could still be further costs if we went ahead…. Motorhouse was happy to fix the drop link and egr valve… how nice but the breaks/and full suspension nah and the system errors with the cruise control and brake system we’ll leave that!

Motorhouse sell good but as the dealership hasn’t responded or spoken to me since 4/4/24 telling me they’d send over a receipt that never appeared… I have to be open and honest and hopefully save someone their money or maybe even their life with the dangerous cars that they’re selling!

BE SAFE!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Would give zero stars if possible

Avoid Motorhouse Beds at all costs. This is by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. After purchasing a vehicle and relying on their “warranty,” I encountered serious issues almost immediately. When I reached out for assistance, my calls and emails were ignored, and the salesman—who was so attentive at the time of purchase—seemed to have vanished. Every attempt to get help or for them to honor their warranty was met with complete disregard.

It’s clear that once they have your money, they could care less about the customer. The lack of accountability and basic customer care is shocking, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

If you’re considering buying from here, think twice. This is a business that has no respect for their customers and no integrity to stand by their word.

NEVER AGAIN!

NEVER AGAIN!
Paid in full as I needed a car quickly for my job.... Nearly two months later!!!! Told car needed a new part, asked to speak to Managing Director 6 times, prevented from doing so by the 'sales person'. Given a delivery date several times that never happened. Eventually given a 'courtesy car' that broke down! Told it was 'my fault because I had put in the wrong fuel'...I said I hadn't had it long enough to put fuel in it! When I eventually told the 'sales person' I no longer wanted the car and wanted a full refund...was told 'it's on its way to be delivered!' ...It was evident no new part had been fixed, or apparently required...so not true, car had dents and a cracked wheel cover and to top it all an additional 1,600 miles on the clock!!!!...So all the time I was waiting for my car, (and lost my job because I didn't have a car, ) someone else was using the car I had paid for! Told them to collect it as I wanted my money back..more delays and collections that never happened. Two cars on my driveway I couldn't drive! Repeatedly had to threaten legal action until eventually I got a refund after almost 2 months of them having my cash. NEVER AGAIN!

After 2 months NO satisfactory explanation

Two months have passed, and we are yet to receive an adequate response regarding a car purchased from this garage. Throughout this period, their proposed solutions to the issues have been wholly inappropriate. They suggested switching us to a new warranty provider, expecting us to claim for pre-existing faults that should be the dealer's responsibility prior to the sale – a practice that undoubtedly contributes to rising insurance premiums. We opted to purchase our own warranty, service the car, and replace the battery at our expense. The repair costs quoted by a main dealer exceed £4000, while a specialist quoted £1500.

Despite agreeing on a settlement weeks ago, they have not paid anything.

It is concerning that the garage does not inspect cars before delivery, relying solely on an MOT as a safety indicator, even if it is months old. Without a thorough safety check and official sign-off before delivery, it is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs. The car was supposed to have been serviced, but it was untouched. If you consider buying from this place, insist on receipts for any repair or service work to verify its completion. Despite their soothing tones, do not trust their words; they show no genuine concern, or they would not conduct business this way. While everyone deserves to earn a living, it should not come at the risk of serious injury or financial loss to others. My advice is to steer clear. Even one star is too generous.
