Mercy Bakery was founded on the principle that people should have access to the most basic form of substance: bread. With the mission to provide free public bakeries worldwide for those in need, the first Mercy Bakery opened in Sana’a, Yemen, in August 2018. Our goal is to provide at least 28,000 loaves of bread a day to families in need, therefore providing a minimum of 840,000 loaves a month. Right now we give out just over 700,000 loaves per month, in addition to healthy meals provided by our Mercy Kitchens. Our donors have continued to make this dream a reality and we have expanded to 10 bakeries in Yemen and our first international expansion to Kharian, Pakistan. We want to expand further, but are limited by our resources. We are grateful for the strides we are making with your support.

I’ve been supporting Mercy Bakery for a while now, donating monthly and even volunteering at some of their events, and I can honestly say I’ve never seen a non-profit more dedicated to their mission. Their work spans continents, bringing hope and sustenance to communities in desperate need. I’ve seen firsthand how they’ve made a real impact in Morocco, Pakistan, and Yemen, helping communities recover, rebuild, and thrive. It’s inspiring to see how they don’t just show up—they fully commit to the people they’re helping.
Recently, they decided to bring their efforts home by launching a food truck for people in need here. I had the chance to assist at some of these local events, and watching them work up close is something I’ll never forget. The team is honest, trustworthy, and so passionate about what they do. They treat every person they help with respect and compassion, and it’s clear they’re doing this work from the heart.
Mercy Bakery isn’t just another charity; they’re a lifeline, a source of hope, and a force for real change. I genuinely don’t think anyone could do this work better than they do, and they deserve all the support and recognition out there. Thank you, Mercy Bakery, for everything—you’re truly one of a kind!

Humanitarian Relief and Development has truly earned my trust and admiration because of their transparency, compassion, and commitment to meaningful, sustainable change. I love this organization because they don’t just provide temporary relief, they work to empower communities long-term. They have a hands-on approach that ensures resources reach those who need them most, whether it’s abroad through Mercy Bakery, Mercy Kitchen, or domestic with Mercy Truck providing hot meals to struggling communities.
Their responsiveness to global crises in countries like Yemen, Pakistan, Turkey, Syria, Palestine, and Peru and beyond shows a genuine commitment to helping communities facing dire situations. They communicate clearly about where donations go, and it’s evident that every contribution has a tangible impact on people’s lives. This openness and dedication to making a lasting difference is why I trust and wholeheartedly support Humanitarian Relief and Development.

Very happy to support Mercy Bakery and all of the important work they do in helping communities in Yemen. A percentage of all my bake sales are donated to Mercy Bakery and I feel so grateful to the organizers for continuing this important charity which helps me give back to those in need.

The work that Mercy Bakery has done for people in need is very inspirational. They work tirelessly to provide food and supplies to those affected by the ongoing conflict in the world. Alhumdulilah, it's also nice to see them branch out to my home country of UGANDA. May Allah, bless everyone at the organization and everyone who donates

Mercy bakery is one of the most hardworking and dedicated organizations… both personally and professionally. Thank you for the immeasurably valuable work you have done and continue to do. May Allah continue to guide and illuminate your path. Allah (swt) says: “HELP ONE ANOTHER IN ACTS OF PIETY AND RIGHTEOUSNESS AND DO NOT ASSIST EACH OTHER IN ACTS OF SINFULNESS AND TRANGRESSION”

I have donated to this charity and when I was trying to get more information through their email confirmation for the donation. The link they provided is no good, I keep getting security certificate is expired. Too many problems and the fact that I was unable to communicate via email make me feel I got scammed.

We donated $2500 last year and wanted to get a tax letter stating no goods or services were received in exchange for the donation. We did not get such letter, even after countless emails and calls. Now I owe taxes on that donation as I can't claim it as a donation. I'm not questioning the legitimacy of the company, i don't have much data to support my PoV but I am very, very disappointed in their non-responsiveness for something that I believe is my basic right to ask for, and receive.
Update as of 5/3/21:
After posting this review, I got the attention of Mercy Bakery and they were able to provide me with the donation letter within a day of me contacting them on the updated email address provided. I'm upping my rating from 1-star to 3-star because of this. My feedback would be to ensure you use the proper email address to be contacted on your PayPal account and ensure your website has the right phone number or way to contact you. I understand payment via third party apps like PayPal may not share the donor addresses for Mercy Bakery to send these donation letters to automatically BUT the onus on having updated information is on Mercy Bakery so donors or others can contact them and not get a voicemail box that is full or a no-response from an old email address. Other than that, I do truly appreciate the good work this organization is doing to feed the hungry.

Assalmu alaykum. I donated $250 by mistake and the actual donation is only $50.
Please refund $200 ASAP
Also note your online donation page is not user friendly and trick donars to pay more. We always donate to many organizations but they are simple and easy and show how much you are donating.
Details of my donation given below. We appreciate your feedback and quick action

I was planning to donate to this charity some time ago but found myself going through a series of different websites with vague information which seemed very dodgy. To add to that there seems to be no adequate database for registered charities in the US, unlike the UK and Ireland where all the information can be accessed and reviewed from independent sources - there is a database as such, but the information available is minimal, a name and post box address seems to suffice.
I therefore came here to Trustpilot and left quite a scathing review. The president of the charity has now taken the time to respond to my review and provide the relevant information. I do hope that their good work continues, they now understand the need for transparency in this type of enterprises.
THE FACTS:
This so-called "registered charity" provided no registration number or physical address for either their office or the presumed bakeries they claimed to have built in Yemen. Just a load of social media sites. However, they took the time to reply to my review and have provided all the information requested below. I hope to check it out in the near future.
