License

I lost my license for6 months due to a medical issue I contacted the dr and the dvla within 24 hours voluntarily and sat it out in the anticipation of getting my license back
to resume working the dvla were very professional spoke in laymen’s terms and were helpful in most aspects. The surgery have been a wee bit different and in my opinion a bit apathetic and indifferent to the fact my mental health was getting a bit tetchy.Im sick of people slapping me on the back saying you done the right thing owning up to it but it feels I’m not getting anywhere as the surgery seems a bit obstructive in the process now I’ve been told it will be 4 weeks to see a doctor to talk over my application and to make matters worse they say paperwork is missing paperwork that took me ages to get from the dvla! So frustrating all I want is the chance to get back to work.Timewise your talking about after the New Year now Merry Christmas

Barclay Medical Practice St George's…

Barclay Medical Practice St George's Road has always been an excellent service to me. No other place can give the empathy and warm reception I have always received each time I visit the practise. Great to see the entire team from the welcoming staff to the Doctor all being so supportive to me.

Excellent experience

Excellent reception staff, initially given a phone consult with a doctor who called within 10 mins. Then given a face to face GP appointment within the hour. Dr Simpson was extremely friendly and re-assuring and made the experience very pleasant. Highly impressed with the practice, the team and how they run it overall.

The Prescription Team The Dream Team

The dream team are absolutely The Prescription Team at Barclay Maryhill. I have lost count of the times where I’ve had a problem relating to my husbands prescription where either I have ordered something and not communicated properly about what was needed. I also didn’t realise that they have a dedicated team who deal specifically with prescriptions and now on reflection, this makes so much sense. Any time I have had a problem with a prescription it’s usually because I’ve called via the main reception line and spoke to a receptionist, who’s responsibility it to deal with appointments etc. I didn’t realise the difference because in my own surgery we simply don’t have this. For whatever reason, if not processed properly and the prescription team need to fix the problem I can honestly say they are so efficient, helpful and dynamic. Nothing is too much hassle, if they can help with something they do and at the earliest possible opportunity. I’ve personally had them resolve problems with scripts so many times and rather than be sent away and told to return days later, if there’s an opportunity to resolve it quickly then that’s what they do.
They team are beyond helpful in a stressful environment where demands are made and no real thanks and appreciation is given. Now I fully understand there’s a separate prescription team and understand where the issues arise when calling through elsewhere…I will never call anyone else again and I know that if I leave a message on the prescription line they will call me back directly if there is an issue.

I’m a big believer in praise and thanks when it’s due, especially in a world where there’s so much unrest and people are genuinely stressed etc. NHS workers tend to bear the brunt of that for some reason but this practice and team specifically within the Barclay Maryhill are fantastic and they have definitely made my life easier on a number of occasions. It can feel like a thankless job but I think you guys are amazing and I see how effective, helpful and dynamic your team is…especially in comparison to my own surgery it’s like night and day!! Thank you!

I’d like to review the Barclay Medical…

I’d like to review the Barclay Medical centre in Northwest Glasgow as deserving 5 stars. This is because Natasha, the administrator there, has listened to my experience and has understood the complexity of the medical issues being faced. She and her medical colleagues, Dr Macdonald and Dr McCormick are working really hard to support us with the limited resources they have. I feel listened to, and, after a few teething problems (e.g. long waits to get through on the phone) I now have great confidence in them.

I ask people not to write a bad review without first trying to explain your problem to the medical practice. The NHS is free. We cannot expect instant responses for all issues. This is because the surgery needs to prioritise the sickest people first. If we expect the NHS to respond like a commercial business, with patients as consumers, and if we make demands for same day responses, we will soon enough get a private system and will have to pay for healthcare. This is the direction the UK current government wants to go and we will live to regret it. Thanks again.

Spoke to reception

I never write reviews.. made him aware I'd ran out of my medication.. ive never had a problem getting my tablets the day I phone.. but he told me "even if you try tomorrow" with a spiteful tone... I 100% believe he was taking his mood out on patients because he had to go to work during Xmas holidays. Thanks for nothing!!

I recently had to contact Barclay…

I recently had to contact Barclay Medical Practice with a health concern. The receptionist took my details, a brief reason for my call, they were very courteous and arranged for a health professional to call me back. I was contacted by ANP Scott Prentice who asked further questions and gave me an appointment to attend later that day. Scott displayed a very high standard of professional care, asking many questions and running a few tests. Scott has great listening skills and made me feel at ease. As a result of this further tests were promptly arranged at hospital. Thank you for the very high standard of care that I received.

"Dr" Des Spence, I can think what the D stands for

Their affiliation with Dr "****head" Des Spence is reason enough to never consider going to this practice. Feel free to read some of his blog posts, all he does is complain and whinge about how doctors aren't taken seriously, is it any wonder when he's flying the flag for GPs? Absolute clown.

Anyone who suffers from poor mental health would do well to google Dr Des Spence Pregabalin and read the blog post.

Is it any wonder mental health is considered a joke in this country, when you've got ****pots posting drivel like that? He wants to talk about patients acting, well I tell you what give me 5 minutes in person and ill act out some of the physical symptoms I get from Anxiety and we'll see what you think then. Utter and complete ****.

Please feel free to get this idiot to contact me directly, id love to have a chat.
