Bought myself a Maeco Arete One 10l…

Bought myself a Maeco Arete One 10l dehumidifier for my small studio flat around 30m² ish. Here's my opinion after 3 months of ownership:

Looks/Aesthetics = 10/10 Discreet and clearly well designed with a great blend of functionality yet sleek aesthetic.
Cost = 7/10 (admittedly it is a large investment to begin with but the value i have noticed over 3 months is incredible).
Effectiveness 9/10 = for my relatively small drafty cold studio this dehumidifier has been a lifesaver, dries clothes within the same day, no heating required. Night mode is bliss. And the app connection allows me to easily check in on my flat and change settings remotely. However I do notice my flat isn't able to reach a humidity lower than 55% (likely because the windows are drafty), although this is still a great achievement as usually it would be 70%+ in the flat.
Air Purification 8/10 = After 3 months of ownership i have just changed the HEPA 13 filter on my unit, I didn't realise just how grey and discoloured the filter had gotten until I compared it with a new one, really impressed at the captured dirt and pollutants. My only issue is a lack of charcoal + HEPA combo and I'd love the product to have some kind of sensor to tell me the air quality in the app, perhaps in a future iteration of their arete line?.

Summary:
Maecos Arete One range are a great investment for someone seeking a discreet, well designed dehumidifier. It's running costs are minimal and I love the app connection, some customisability with custom manual fan speed in app and air quality monitoring would be ideal but the three presets work well too. I expect this product to last several years from my experience so far and the warranty is a plus! Looking forward to seeing the next iteration in the Maeco range and seeing their tech.

The Maeco Arete One range is a buy.

Don’t buy castors

Bought dehumidifier December 23 . Not supplied with castors .Paid £20 for set of 4 . Extremely difficult to fit .
Useless on carpeted areas, mine is low pile , as they are about 50p in size for a 12L dehumidifier. Contacted company who are NOT INTERESTED in a refund for a useless set of castors unless I can RETURN said castors . These will be absolutely impossible to remove , some people have had to use a rubber headed hammer to fit theirs .
Not happy that not being refunded for a poorly designed product.

Do not buy - Strong musty smell from dehumidifier

Do not buy - poorly designed product and unhelpful customer service
I bought a dehumidifier in Aug last year (2022). After approx. 5 months I noticed a very musty smell and I contacted Customer Service. After many emails back and forth they have still not solved the problem.
A dehumifier should prevent your home from getting musty but this product blows musty air out so it's not fit for purpose.

Update 28 Feb
After wasting more of my time, they are now asking for £25 retain fee to inspect the unit - while it is still under warranty. Avoid at all cost.

excellent customer service

This company offers excellent customer service. We had a broken cable, and they immediately sent us a new one. That turned out to be one for a different model, but without delay they sent us the correct one. Always quick replies to any inquiries or requests.

Absolutely fantastic customer service…

Absolutely fantastic customer service from Meaco. I would not hesitate to recommend them. In particular ‘Sharon’ went the extra mile. She personally organised repair, packaging & courier pickup for me. What a lovely woman - a credit to the company!

I've been really impressed by Maeco

I've been really impressed by Maeco, they gave me the best customer service I've ever had for an electrical appliance. My DD8L Zambezi dehumidifier developed a faulty fan after four and half years of continuous running. Maeco staff were so helpful. Even though I was two and a half years beyond my warranty period they agreed to pay the postage for me to send the machine to them for repair, then shipped it back to me at no cost. They were so fast, the machine was back with me fully repaired within four working days. I'd recommend paying the £20 for a full service and clean, my machine has come back looking as good as new and I expect it will last for years longer. Nice job Maeco. On the basis of this service I'm going to stick with the brand.
