Lifetime Fitness Discriminates Against Autistism

The gym is discriminating against me for having autism and refuses to confirm their discrimination in writing and denies now some of what they said to me. I am told I can't use the hot tub or play ball if the two people who were harassing me come before me because I have autism, and the gym knows they have an earlier schedule so I can't use the facilities. I have done nothing wrong and am denied equal access to amenities I paid for which is breaking federal law. I requested an accommodation to use the facilities at my schedule and was denied, yet this is asking to do what I should be already permitted to do. I offered for the gym to talk with my health care provider, but they said "they don't want to know about my autism." I have filed a discrimination complaint against Lifetime Fitness in Mount Lauren NJ. If they throw me out for using the amenities I pay for and the situation, I will have something substantial to add to my complaints. It is impossible to get fit while I am being threatened and discriminated against by the gym while I am being harassed by two members who do not like me because I have autism.

DEI hiring practices are now illegal.

To Whom It May Concern,

I have been affiliated with your organization several times over the past 20 years, beginning with the acquisition of my private club in Houston, the University Club a highly regarded tennis facility. Since relocating to Minnesota due to marriage, I have maintained a lifetime company membership and expect to be treated with the same level of respect and professionalism afforded to all members.

While I appreciate the recent renovations at the Minnetonka location and recognize that many of the front desk staff conduct themselves professionally and courteously, my recent experience this past Saturday was deeply disappointing. I encountered behavior from certain trainers and front desk personnel that was dismissive and, frankly, disrespectful.

It is also concerning that some staff and members seem to make assumptions based on my Texas accent, including unfounded political judgments. Regardless of personal background, all members deserve to be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect especially those who have been longstanding supporters of the club.

I bring this to your attention not in anger, but with the hope that management will reinforce a culture of inclusivity and professionalism across all locations. I remain committed to the values of your organization and trust that my concerns will be addressed appropriately.

Lifetime Fitness Allows Unwanted Physical Comtact to Go Unpunished

I was harassed and physically touched by another member at the Shenandoah, TX location after asking her to clean chalk off shared gym equipment.

Other members had witnessed it and alerted staff. I was told the incident would be reviewed on security footage.

When I followed up, management claimed I “touched her first.” Then they changed their story mid-conversation to “you both touched each other.” They also told me there’s nothing they can do—and that they “can’t guarantee anyone’s safety.”

The woman who mocked me and put hands on me is still allowed to train. No consequences.

Lifetime Fitness claims to promote safety and respect. But they’ve shown me that when a woman is harassed and speaks up, they’d rather protect a paying member than uphold their values.

This is not a safe space—and I want others to be aware of how little support you may receive when you do the right thing.

The Gym is all about politics and corruption.

Don't go to this gym. This gym is all about politics and corruption. Rather than focusing on exercise, the managers are busy on invading in someone's personal space.
Just for wearing a T-shirt written "Free Palestine" they kicked that guy out of gym. AWFUL!!!

I am a long time Lufetume member and…

I am a long time Lufetume member and enjoy the Bur Ridge facility. However for the first time in more than 10 years U left my high end water bottle in the men's locker room. I called to see if it was turned in and was told about their new policy. They won't say or check like they used ti do. You can only go in and check. Of course by the time I get there the waterbottle will be gone. This new policy is very customer unfriendly. You would think that for a more than 10 year member someone would take a quick look. Treating long term customers like garbage is a good way to loose long term customers.

Lifetime Oakbrook Pickleball Ann De Padua

Lifetime Oakbrook has become a shadow of its former self, and much of the blame falls squarely on Ann De Padua, the Pickleball instructor there. In every interaction I’ve had—and from what dozens of fellow pickleball players have shared—Ann comes off as abrasive and domineering, acting as if she’s the ultimate arbiter of the game. Yet, in a stunning display of hypocrisy, she enforces rules selectively while blatantly ignoring them herself.

Her management style isn’t just authoritarian—it’s downright toxic. Over petty, personal beef, she banned me from league play, an action that speaks volumes about her skewed sense of power rather than any genuine commitment to fair play. I’m not alone in this experience; I can easily name 30 to 50 players who’ve chosen to walk away from a program that has lost its integrity under her rule.

What’s even more disheartening is the utter indifference from the higher-ups. GM TK appears to turn a blind eye to the countless complaints, leaving the program to wither away under poor leadership. With Ann’s near non-existent emotional intelligence and a complete lack of empathy, it’s hard to see how Lifetime Oakbrook can ever recover its once vibrant community spirit.

Simply put, if you value fairness, respect, and leadership that leads by example, steer clear of Lifetime Oakbrook. The world would be a better place if there were fewer people like Ann De Padua.

Racist and CORRUPT discriminatory GYM

Racist and CORRUPT discriminatory company against Asians. BEWARE. Problems at Life Time Clarendon with staff. In September, and for 4 months, due to a variety of experiences I was verbally harassed, intimidated and bullied and the manager downplayed each incident saying that it was not a big deal. She downplayed my trauma, was extremely unprofessional, and what was supposed to be a professional call to discuss my concerns turned into an hour of gaslighting, constant dismissal of my emotions, and blaming me for her employee’s decisions and attitude and anger control issues. She sided with her employee the entire time and did not show me any fair or equitable treatment. I was actually shocked that this had all happened to me on a call and cried for hours after that day because not ONCE did she apologize for what their employee did.

On Sept 23 I was screamed at by one of their employees and Life Time (Bab Mclagan) banned and terminated MY membership in retaliation for the incident occurring in their club which is the definition of INJUSTICE. I have been discriminated against by the gym and now I’m further discriminated and retaliated against for being a whistleblower. Life time tried to twist the story by saying the reason I was terminated was because I was given expectations to leave on time and broke them. This is false as I was never given expectations and I DID do my best to leave on time, within 10 minutes of the club closing I accidentally left late because I have issues with time blindness. Life time discriminated against my condition and did not give any reprieve or warning, or any communication that leaving 5 minutes late 3-4 times is grounds for A PERMANENT BAN. YES. LEAVING A FEW MIN LATE WILL GET YOU BANNED. I was discriminated against because I was robbed of due process and not warned of any consequences of leaving a few minutes late. The truth is that I was being retaliated against because corporate said I left a bad review (of my honest experience?!) so they were retaliating against me being a whistleblower which is retaliation against free speech.

I have never had issues with any Life Time staff ever in the 2-3 years I went to Life Time at other locations. I am extremely polite and consider other gym goers when I go to the gym. But LT defamed me by citing that I was not following expectations given to me when THEY NEVER TOLD ME WHAT THOSE EXPECTATIONS WERE. They LIED and said I was breaking the rules (rules never told to me), which is a common phrase in their playbook to do corrupted things (whatever they want) and so they can continue to unfairly ban people. How is being LESS THAN 10 MINUTES LATE coming out of the gym LESS THAN 5 TIMES the reason to permanently ban someone - this reeks of discrimination and foul play and I have evidence to prove it.

Life Time prevented me legal exit from the club one time due to my race as an Asian woman, they had locked me out and allowed a group of non Asian males to leave easily, but not me. Then they blame me for “leaving the club late.” ***So they made it hard for me to leave then say it is my fault I’m not leaving on time.*** They targeted me, and set me up so it makes it seem I’m always leaving late when 2 of those visits I left late was the FAULT OF LIFE TIME.

It is discrimination to do this and Life Time NEVER apologized or said anything. They will continue to be a racist, nazi gym that doesn’t allow people to even shower within 15 minutes of the gym closing. I saw a lady had to be ordered out of a shower one time half way with SOAP still on her body. The staff didn’t show any remorse.

This company and corporation has 0 EMPATHY FOR GYM GOERS. AVOID THIS PLACE AND BOYCOTT RACISM, DISCRIMINATION, and RUDENESS that I have not seen present at any other gym in this country.

SILVER SNEAKERS Gives Poor Folks TERRIFIC Gym Opportunity🎶

I have had wonderful experiences with the Lifetime Fitness locations in the

Twin Cities (Minnesota).

Each one is usually different, though, each one I have visited so far (7) has an interesting Power Plate unit...which is my number one reason for coming to Lifetime Fitness in the first place.

If one gets too comfortable,  though, it seems some of those long time entrenched members might complain about u....😅

One time over a month ago - I fell asleep on one of the lounge chairs in a Diamond Lifetime Fitness. ..That's definitely a no, no..🤪

Another otherwise wonderful quite wealthy area Lifetime Fitness location had a few members eventually having a cow over my wearing veri comfortable sandals (& I have been doing so for over 3 years @ many LA Fitness locations⚡️)

So one moves on as there r so other many wonderful locations to visit...like the wonderful Lifetime Fitness in Chanhassen for an example ❤️

It’s a still 5 star opportunity for me anyway🎶

PLEASE BE AWARE OF LIFETIME FITNESS…

PLEASE BE AWARE OF LIFETIME FITNESS CLUB MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION POLICY AND THE PAINFUL PROCESS YOU WILL BE SUBJECTED TO WHEN YOU TRY TO CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP:

I rarely do any review but I don't want anyone else to go through the painful process that I went through that is why I am doing this review.

This review is for Lifetime fitness club located in Lawrenceville. This location is always very crowded.

As many other reviewers have reported, cancelling a membership at lifetime is practically impossible.

I requested cancellation of my membership effective as of 12/7/24 over the phone. I was told to send an email to their Sugarloaf location which I did. I also logged on to Lifetime App on my phone and canceled my membership as they advised.

Nothing had changed when I called a week later to confirm that my membership was cancelled. I was then told to stop by the membership desk in person which I did, the person at the front desk assured me that my membership will be cancelled but I will be charged again in January 2025 but I will be issued a refund with cancellation effective date of 1/7/25.

I was charged for the month of January 2025, I kept waiting for refund for the remainder of January which I never received.

I was charged again for February. I called their front desk today to find out what is going on and why I keep getting charged for a membership that should have been canceled effective 1/7/25.

I was put on hold multiple times & every time I had to explain my story to each person. Finally when I spoke with the 3rd person, he said that we have no record of your cancellation request. He acknowledge that he received my email dated 12/12/24 requesting cancellation but insisted that because they don't have a record of my clicking on some link that they sent me over email, he was not going to be able to refund the residual fee for January.

I ended up wasting over an hour of my time & he 'graciously' agreed to issue the refund for February which just started. When I told him that I have not been back to the club since after 12/7/24, he said that our memberships are not based on the use, our memberships are subscription based, you will be charged whether you use it or not.

SINCERE ADVICE TO POTENTIAL NEW MEMBERS:
BEFORE YOU BECOME LIFETIME CLUB MEMBER, BE WARE OF THE DIFFICULTIES YOU WILL FACE WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP. IN THE END, YOU WILL END UP PAYING MORE THAN WHAT YOU SHOULD BE CHARGED
