Excellent experience with Indochina

Excellent experience with Indochina Travel Japan. After (too much) research they
impressed us with their deeper knowledge and planning a trip we would have never
been able to, and most importantly, more a value and less cookie cutter than similar tour
companies.. For one example, they revamped our (too long) time in popular places like
Tokyo and Kyoto for places more authentic and less touristy that turned out to be our
favorites. Remarkable level of pre-trip planning (including food, one of our main
interests) and materials to bring a richer understanding of Japan. We were impressed
by their hotel and ryokan choices, newer and other ones we had not heard of but all
were outstanding choices. Special mention to Tree and Asami, who were always quick
to respond, no matter what day or time it was.

We’ve used Indochina Travel

We’ve used Indochina Travel for all four of our trips to Asia - Indochina, Myanmar &
Thailand, China, and now Japan. It’s pleasing that they understand exactly how we like
to travel. All of our trips have been exceptional. Our only disappointment is that they do
not organize trips anywhere else!

We’ve just returned from our two-week

We’ve just returned from our two-week honeymoon in Thailand. Indochina Travel
crafted the perfect honeymoon for us, guiding us through an amazing journey across
Thailand. Our favorites were exploring the busy streets of Bangkok, the mountains of
Chiang Mai, and - wow - Phuket! Every moment was thoughtfully planned, ones that
we’ll cherish forever.
From the very beginning, Tree and Kae exceeded our expectations. Their level of
professionalism, enthusiasm, and attention to detail were unparalleled. My husband and
I were completely blown away by how after all the planning, how flawlessly everything
came together. In Bangkok, we were immersed in the city’s rich and really exotic culture.
The street food was amazing and enjoyed the dinners they planned. Chiang Mai
brought us closer to nature as we spent precious moments with elephants and tigers,
and even enjoyed a peaceful boat ride on the river. We are grateful for the surprise
monk’s blessing they arranged there!

From start to finish

From start to finish, this tour was outstanding! Tree and Asami worked closely with us to
design an incredible two-week private tour for our group of three couples. One of the
standout experiences was attending the sumo competition Tokyo, easily one of the
highlights of our trip.
They were careful finalizing all the details, ensuring every aspect of our trip was
thoughtfully arranged. The logistics were flawless, from airport pickups to luggage
transfers, drivers, and guides—everything went off without a hitch. The itinerary was
perfectly balanced, offering a mix of sightseeing, dining plans, and engaging activities
that kept the trip both enriching and fun. Our guides were exceptional. Kengo in Kyoto
and Miyumi in Tokyo were not only incredibly knowledgeable but also warm,
enthusiastic, and genuinely invested in making our experience unforgettable.

We had an incredible journey with…

We had an incredible journey with Indochina Travel during our trip to Cambodia, Vitnam and Laos. Every detail was impeccably organized, from smooth and swift VIP transfers to perfect rooms at the hotels in each destination and incredible dining they planned for us. What truly stood out was the time spent with our guides, who tailored the experience to our interests and provided deep, insider insights at every stop. Their passion for working with Indochina Travel, some for many years, was obvious, and it enhanced our trip tremendously. We can't wait to plan our next adventure with them!

I've been a professional agent for over 25 years with Virtuoso, focused on Japan and Thailand. Indonesia Travel is hands-down one of my favorite tour companies I've ever worked with. They are always a delight, well -organized, deep expertise, top guides, US and in-country offices, video meetings, with meticulous planning ( itineraries are typically over a hundred pages), on tour updates...I could go on and on ,but most importantly-my clients are always thrilled with their trips.

In this regard

In this regard, we were impressed that they spent a long time getting to know us in the planning process and filtering wtat we actually enjoy doing, for we were as guilty as ourselves. For example, adding a rest day at the perfect point in our trip we would not have thought to do so. And specific preferences, such as art, lead to meeting several of Vietnam's top artists in Hanoi. Also, their knowledge of the region reaches to which hotel rooms and restaurant tables are best. All these aspects add up to a terrific trip in our experience.

Sublime Trip to Japan Great…

Sublime Trip to Japan Great communication with through organizing with specific steps for planning of our trip. Tree and Asami provided extensive details to almost every question asked and a plethora of recommendations ( including extensive dining and reading list). Our guides were the best we'd ever had and helped us greatly understand the culture and history of Japan, and specific crafts we were interested in ( pottery and kimono painting). Logistics were perfect between Tokyo, Kanazawa, Takayama, Naoshima, and Kyoto, including the famous luggage transport system.
Also a thoughtful stop at Himeji castle
-which they recommended and is a definite not-to miss.
Recommended hotels were fantastic and were very pleased in regard to the perfect blend of traditional ryokan and western lodging. Many thanks.

Amazing Family Trip in Thailand

Amazing Family Trip in Thailand, Vietnam & Cambodia Thanks to some friends we were introduced to ITC. If you're looking for a smaller boutique operator, they are fantastic. They took all the guessing away and after a couple of Zoom calls felt confident to let them plan everything for a customer trip, a big relief with three kids in our party who all have different interests. Terrific time had by all with some quality downtime in the right places. They really know kids and it turns out all the managers and guides all have kids themselves. Some activities, like the school visit we had to teach English are completely authentic as were many of our experiences which was a real highlight, and something impossible to do on our own. We feel spoiled now and it will be difficult to go back to planning our own trips.

Perfect Fit

A smaller, intelligent, and experienced local operator is hard to find. Very glad to have found Indonesia Travel. Bonus for having a booking office in the U.S. that we could call during the daytime. We had such a long and multi-country trip and the Zoom calls pre-trip were extremely informative and helpful, but as they said to us a few times: just show up with your passport and visas and we'll make sure it's the trip of a lifetime. And it was! Thanks so much Tree & Quyet.

Family fun in Indochina thanks to Indochina Travel

Exceptional trip in all respects. Our children couldn't have been kept more busy, or thrilled, during our time in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Detailed level of pre-trip planning helped clarify exactly where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do. Laos, for example, was unknown to us but turned out to be a favourite place and delightful elephant sanctuary. Tree was also amazing in helping our airline planning. Everything went smoothly but we still appreciated having constant communication with our local tour managers at all times even to ask simple questions. Looking forward to our next trip to NP Japan with them Thank you!"

Great trip, Great Company

Our trip to Vietnam was planned with a focus on our interests in the arts. We were pleased that Indochina Trivel arranged private meetings for us with top artists in their studios and homes, includes Dinh Quan and Dao Anh Khanh, as well as fascinating moments with musicians and writers- including Nguyen Qui Duc whom we had followed years ago on PBS. As a side, the company organizes a lot of culinary trips and we were delighted by the dining planned for out trip without even asking. Thoroughly impressed they went above and beyond our expectations, Superb job all around. Vietnam will always remain our most treasured trip, thanks to the planning they did.

Great family trip in Japan

Great family trip in Japan. We contacted a few companies not knowing much at all about Japan and also having two energetic boys that we know we'd already have our hands full with once in county. Indochina Travel was the only company that actually got to know us and address our specific interests. They proposed a unique itinerary that was not just the usual tourist sites like Hakone/Mt. Fuji. Most surprising was their quote was also the lowest. Our trip was flawless, every transfer, dining, and hotel experience was without a hitch. Our boys were kept busy with food arranged more to their lrish palate. We had quite a laugh when our Tokyo guide surprised us by taking us to an lrish pub for some Guinness! Well done.

We highly recommend our guides Canh and Quyen, warm and always good natured and very talented at all thing food! Canh invited over his home where he prepared some traditional dishes, delicious! Another standout on this trip was the local market visits throughout the country, it really brought our the regional differences in Vietnam's cuisine- every in the same dishes, such as pho. One of the best trips of our lives- so much so, we are already planning to return.

They run trips for Atlas Obscura culinary tours in Asia and we've just returned from their fantastic Vietnam culinary trip. The trip was far beyond expectations: the accommodations, activities, places visited, and our lovely guides who became best friends our our ten days spent with them. And the food! They know every local place and the cooking classes we took were the best we've taken anywhere.
