You’re better off going somewhere else…
If I could give this auction zero stars, I would. I do business with all the major auto auctions and this one by far is the worst. The customer service is lacking. Every time I call in to buyer’s services, I have to hold for an hour or more just to get a representative on the phone and my issue may or may not get resolved. In the office, the reps are slow, rude, and provide inconsistent information. I have stood in line at the St. Louis office several times and watched as no one was being serviced, but all the reps were sitting at their desk pretending to be busy. The fees are already higher than most, but in addition to the regular buyer/seller fees, there is a a plethora of additional fees. The high fees would be irrelevant if they actually provided help and good customer service. The “deals” are not really deals by the time you pay all of the additional fees you could’ve purchased a car without a salvage title. Once my account expires, I will not renew unless something changes. All of the employees need to undergo customer service training.

Misrepresented Vehicle Condition
I bought a truck that was advertised to start and drive, but it did neither. I also paid $1300 for delivery through their delivery service. The driver told me the Idaho branch forklifted it onto the truck because it would not start, and then delivery to my house proceeded. An auto shop told me the engine was bad. When I contacted iaai.com and the branch, they said that I agreed to paragraphs 6 and 7, which says no guarantee on the condition. They misrepresented the vehicle and were not helpful in resolving the issue. I feel like I have been scammed.

Have been with IAA for 10yrs + and this is the year of disconnect! As of Feb 17th 2025 there is NO Customer Service phone connect at all! They have made my account "Inactive" for who knows why?? Seems like after the company was acquired by Richie Brothers, it went to hell in a hand basket. As a Licensed Business, I have been treated like a general public buyer!! I am OUT!.

Internal scam bidders
I am absolutely convinced they have fake bidders internally. Too many times the reserve comes off and the bidder disappears and drops it on you. Why would they not bid again after they went all the way?

They are not only pure evil but illiterate morons as well.
They straight up can't read or speak English or Spanish. They were supposed to pickup an old vehicle for transport. They drove around the given address for 3 hours, saying they couldn't find it, until they just quit the job. I've never dealt with dumber people in my life, and that is really saying something. Glad I moved the car, because from what I've heard about them, they would have tried to come by and steal it later.

SHAMELESS THIEVES AND LIARS
No these people are actually straight up THIEVES with zero shame. They listed a car as run and drive but when my friend that is a car dealer received the car he soon found out that the transmission was completely messed up. They had completely lied to him. They go through manipulative loopholes to ensure that they can legally lie and scam you but they know VERY WELL what they are doing. They know that their cars are useless junk but will scam you out of your hard earned money with false descriptions pretending that these are driveable cars. ONLY GOD WILL DEAL WITH YOU IMMORAL SHAMELESS S***BAGS

A thief business
If all buyers stop buying for only 1 week it will be a severe damsge to these corrupt corporation so they will reconsider reducing non-sense high sale fee
I will not buy for the next 30 days, if you read my review please do that
You can buy from another auctions with way less fees (Manheim, Adesa, Metro, DAA, Carmax and ....)
Now they add $20 extra fee when you pay at the branch!!!!!

Rip off artists
Bought a truck camper. Went to pick it up and they had it stored in a public lot. Items missing from pictures and said not their problem--the items were the jacks needed for me to load it on my vehicle. Told to just go buy new ones--they cost over $1000 and were the main reason I bid on the camper. Asked to just have my money returned as the camper was not as pictured, not to mention that forgot to add the entire roof was missing and the whole thing was dry rotted, they just laughed. Don't be surprised if items are removed after you win the auction.
Contacted their customer service, told they would get back with me within 24-48hrs (that was 2 weeks ago). No reply--but instead they charge me $50 a day for "storage" fees. Never again.

They will steal your stuff.
Their inventory of vehicles are a COMPLETE SCAM!!! They brought my stuff and I have $1500+ of electronics tools missing. Including my cologne. The inventory list of my personal items is a COMPLETE JOKE!!! The manager I spoke to said they don’t go into closed spaces. HER EXACT WORDS AND I QUOTE, “We don’t open gloveboxes or move seats front or back to see underneath. We don’t go into center consoles.” Yet I was handed my phone that was IN THE CLOSED CENTER CONSOLED!!!! The paperwork that was IN THE GLOVEBOX…..IN THE BOX THEY PROVIDED TO REMOVE MY PERSONAL BELONGING!!!! How did you get these in the box if you didn’t go through the console or glovebox to get it? The cop I filed a claim with stated ON CAMERA AND I QUOTE, “ We get called out here to IAAI at least 2 TIMES PER DAY FOR THEFT CLAIMS AGAINST IAAI.” Well I hope someone tries to use this LOANED GPS TRACKED TOOL!!! They went to the vehicle TWICE AT MY REQUEST AND THEY BROUGHT BACK ITEMS I IDENTIFIED AS STILL BEING EXACTLY WHERE I SAID IT WOULD BE!!! Which means they DID NOT DO A COMPLETE INVENTORY OF MY PERSONAL PROPERTY AND MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS ARE STILL IN THE VEHICLE!! I bet those will get stolen too.

Same situation here just last week..
Same situation here just last week... I had items taken from my vehicle after it was towed to their facility. All of my bags gone through and pillaged. I had just went to a personal storage the day before to get things out, and placed them in my car, then the vehicle was towed before I was able to get them out. First, I left my personal phone, ID, debit and credit cards in their by accident when I gout out of the car... they took ALL of that. They took an ipad mini, 2 other brand new phones (Samsung Galaxy Notes) I took out of storage to sell, 4 watches, jewelry (rings, necklaces, etc.), credit cards... They even took 10 one dollar bills I had in there, along with about 4 or 5 dollars in change. The biggest thing that got me was my personal phone... I had an SD card in there that had tons of data, and stupid me failed to back it up somewhere else. Years of stuff and memories just gone. They have a bunch of low life's around there with light fingers. The location was in Grand Prairie, TX, but I'm sure all of their locations are the same. Do not trust them. They will be sued, and all the items they stole are way over the felony amount, so it's being investigated. I feel completely violated. Somebody will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Do not trust this company
Do not trust this company. They will cover up theft for their own profit.
I have documented photos with the IAA time stamp at the bottom showing 5/9/24 where these items are in my vehicle. I also have a second set of photos with the IAA time stamp at the bottom showing 5/15/24 where these items are no longer in the vehicle. I asked if there was a storage location or record of items that were removed from the vehicle, which was denied. Upon informing the representative that without some form of documentation showing where my possessions may be, and with the photo evidence I would have to assume that IAA is responsible for theft of my property and would be named as such in my police report. I was shortly after hung up on.
Now I am waiting for my insurance and the police to handle it. Unbelievable that they operate in such manners.

HORRIBLE customer service
HORRIBLE customer service. I spent almost 2 hours on hold with these people, was hung up on twice and then told that the state ID I provided was insufficient. Funny, the FEDS took it to buy military surplus but you guys can't take it to buy crashed cars? No worries, I'll spend my money elsewhere!
