Unfortunate experience

I’ve been using HelloClearHealth for a while without issue, but my most recent experience was really disappointing.

They didn’t ship my package for over two weeks. To their credit, they reimbursed me for the month which I appreciated. However, when the package finally shipped, it was delivered to my old address despite my request to update my shipping information as I had already moved. This was PRIOR to shipping, and they had confirmed this change BEFORE shipment. As a result, I never received the package.

I reached out multiple times but didn’t get a response for about a week. It wasn’t until I asked to cancel my subscription that they finally responded, and even then, they didn’t acknowledge the shipping issue at all! Overall, I expected better communication and accountability from a service I had trusted for so long.

We’re sorry to hear that your most recent experience didn’t meet expectations. We did issue you a full reimbursement for the month as soon as there was a delay with your shipment, and we agree that’s the right thing to do.

However, to clarify for others reading: we only ship medication when a patient confirms their shipping address and payment. Once a package leaves our pharmacy, we don’t have the ability to reroute it unless the carrier allows it. That’s why we always recommend patients double-check the address on file before confirming an order.

We also offer the option to pick up medication at a local pharmacy if preferred, and many of our patients choose that route for added flexibility.

If there’s ever a breakdown in communication, we take full accountability and we’re always available via email to help resolve any open issues. We appreciate your past trust and hope you’ll give us another chance in the future.

Not the safest solution

ClearHealth approved me for Accutane based solely on an online intake form and uploaded photos, without providing me with any live consultation, it was very impersonal given the potency of this drug, it raised a red alarm for me.

Shortly afterward, I checked with my personal doctor—and was strongly advised against Accutane, making it clear that the online approval was not only insufficient but potentially unsafe.

Although I never received the prescription or began treatment, and immediately halted the process, ClearHealth refused to issue a refund, citing that a medical evaluation had technically been “completed.” In my view, this "evaluation" did not meet the basic standard of care expected for such a dangerous medication. I was offered no follow-up, no reassessment, and no meaningful opportunity to address serious safety concerns that arose afterward.

If you're considering using ClearHealth for Accutane, please proceed with caution. Their process may check legal boxes, but in my case, it failed to ensure actual medical safety.

To clarify, every evaluation on our platform is reviewed with the utmost care by a licensed, board-certified provider. Your approval for treatment was based on the information you personally submitted, including a mental health screening and photos, all of which were considered during a thorough clinical review. While we operate virtually, this approach meets the standards for safe, asynchronous care and is consistent with modern telehealth practices.

Patients are always encouraged and able to message their provider directly through the platform to address concerns or request a reassessment within a reasonable timeframe. We also support syncing care with in-person providers, just as one might seek a second opinion or follow-up in a traditional setting.

As noted at the time of purchase, our policy states that medical evaluations are non-refundable once completed. Just like with an in-person dermatologist, once a provider completes an evaluation and determines you’re eligible for treatment, that medical service is considered rendered, even if you later decide not to proceed with the medication.

We remain committed to ensuring patient safety and continuously improving the experience for everyone who seeks treatment through our platform.

Clear skin at Last

I did my Accutane treatment through Clear Health, I couldn’t be happier with the results. My skin is the clearest it’s ever been, and for the first time in years, I feel confident. The process was smooth from start to finish — Clear Health made everything so easy, from virtual appointments to getting my prescription filled. The support and guidance I received really helped me stay on track and manage any side effects along the way. I barely get any breakouts now, and the overall texture and tone of my skin has improved so much. If you’re struggling with stubborn acne and nothing else has worked, I highly recommend going through Clear Health. They made a big difference in my journey and I’m so glad I took the leap.

Clear Health has changed my life. My skin is beautiful and it has built my confidence back up after a crazy 10 year break out after having my second son. My husband can't stop looking at me and complimenting me. I would recommend them to anyone.

Super convenient and accessible

Convenient, straightforward and affordable.
My HDHP plan was not going to cover any of the Accutane treatment visits or meds, so I saved a ton by going through Clear Health instead.
Obviously there are still hoops to jump through as a female patient but their system helped streamline the process of uploading photos and the pregnancy tests, dealing with the iPledge system, and receiving approval for the meds each month.
Taylor from the Support Team was particularly wonderful and patient when explaining the process and treatment and made the experience much nicer.

I removed one star because of the chat experience with the doctor I was assigned to. He didn't check in or answer questions in details and would just copy and paste the exact same message each month when the treatment was reapproved. This tends to happen with virtual health providers but for the cost of the virtual visit, it would have been appreciated to get more than a copy/paste message each month.
I have now been using the post-treatment prescription lotion and their jojoba oil cleanser and I am very happy with both!

Honestly

Honestly, it’s been a freaking waste of time going through clear because one it doesn’t take away from the process you have to do anyways with any provider that you go to. Also, my insurance doesn’t even take it so I have to literally come out of pocket and they charge on top of it an extra $50, I don’t even know for just talking to the doctor doesn’t even talk to you and it’s just very sloppy. I wouldn’t do it just go through a dermatologist through your provider. This was a complete waste of time. I wish I never did it through them

Accutane Treatment - 3 Teenagers

I have worked with this company for over a year. I had 2 teenagers complete a full course of Accutane and I am 1 month into treatment with my 3rd child. The team has been incredibly helpful and responsive with all of my concerns and issues throughout this process. I strongly recommend this company for anyone suffering from Acne.

I initially was worried about starting…

I initially was worried about starting Accutane but the support team and the dermatologist definitely quelled my worries. They were reassuring and provided all the information I needed to feel comfortable with my treatment plan. I really liked the convenience of being able to message the dermatologist through the chat feature, though responses typically took a few hours. So far it’s been pretty straight forward. Definitely looking forward to continuing treatment through them! Highly recommend for anyone looking for accessible and affordable accutane treatment.

Amazing product, amazing customer service

Clear health has been nothing but amazing. From the beginning they have been supportive and helpful, answering any questions i may have. The lady over the phone Brianna is very sweet and extremely patient when it comes to explaining certain steps in the process to me. I also love how quick i get a response from their customer service team just the other day i sent an email and within a few minutes Taylor had responded back answering all my questions. Overall the product is amazing and has done wonders for my skin and the customer service matches. Thank you all again for making this process so easy to navigate.

I have had a great experience so far with Clear Health! Telehealth can feel a bit impersonal at times, but they really do their best to make you feel cared for throughout the entire process. Whenever I have questions, I reach out to support and they alway help address my concerns or resolve any issues. Taylor (the support manager) has even reached out to me via phone to follow up and ensure everything was taken care of. My review really is mainly about Taylor…

My review really is mainly about Taylor from clear health. I’ve had a pretty good experience thus far all around, but any concerns, questions or worries always seem to be resolved with the support managers help, Taylor. She is on top of it and is always quick to reply and answer any questions or concerns! I do have a hard time getting in touch with my doctor though, I would not blame the company for that, or really even the doctor as I am sure she has other telehealth jobs and or clients.

They do not care

I had a lot of issues with this company especially customer service. It’s ridiculous the way they pass you around. Besides that your doctor literally couldn’t give less of a crap about you!! I have been struggling with terrible side effects post accutane treatment and asked my derm about getting bloodwork done to test for anemia and she told me to go to a pcp. Hello? I just spent the last half of this year being treated by you and being prescribed this medication by you but when I express concerns about side effects a month after the treatment they essentially told me to kick rocks. Awesome! Super caring :) The entirety of my experience my dermatologist was short and uncaring. Customer service was just messy and I was always being tossed around. It would be better if you could actually call and have a real conversation with someone who listens. As someone who has been failed by healthcare over and over again, it never gets less disappointing. It seems routine for most people to get bloodwork done after accutane to make sure everything still looks normal. Why not with this company? What’s the point of even doing the baseline tests? I don’t currently have a pcp and by the time I can get in with one I’ll have spent even more months being miserable and sick from a drug carelessly prescribed.

While it’s not always required at certain times, we provide this guidance to help make the process easier for you. In the 'My Labs' section of your patient portal, you can download your signed bloodwork requisition form, both during and after treatment.

This number is also included in our support emails because we understand that some patients prefer to speak with us directly. During monthly evaluations, we offer the option of a phone call with the dermatologist, which can be scheduled either before or after your prescription approval. Accutane has been working wonders for me , the 40mg the doctor prescribed was just what I needed,
Medication works like magic, I’m finally able to say that my acne is going away!!!!!! 🤗
