So I thought that I was being helped...
So I thought that I was being helped. I had a supervisor that was looking into my case, and he made is sound as though I was going to get my credit, but he then went on vacation without telling me and not giving me an alternative contact. I emailed him to follow up and I got the auto reply that he was going to be away for a week. I had to call Hanover yet again and go through about 5 people, before I finally got connected to the right department. Some of these people were very lovely and they tried to help me get to the right department. Once I finally got to where I needed to be, the gentleman let me know that finance ops needed a document. I provided it and have only received an auto email with my case number. No phone call, no return email. The supervisor came back today and only crickets. I feel that I am going to have to again take up more of my time to follow up with Hanover again to get my credit that they sent to my ex-wife.

We had a large loss claim on our home after trees fell on it last August. Our agent Larry Venezia was nothing short of amazing to deal with and follow through.
We were out for 10 months while our home was gutted & rebuilt and the entire process went easily and without any issues.

My roof sustained damage from 80+MPH…
My roof sustained damage from 80+MPH winds in March 2025 in McHenry, Illinois. It failed the manufacturer's repair test thus requiring a full replacement to comply with City Codes. Hanover basically dragged their feet with this claim, supposedly escalating multiple "2nd Reviews", each of course taking 7 business days. Hanover was provided pictures, shingle test results, manufacturer installation requirements, and relevant City Codes. While the policy clearly indicates coverage to comply with City Codes, Hanover refused to cover the full roof. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Hanover. The full replacement cost approximately $19,500, with Hanover covering only approximately $3,000. Think twice if you're considering buying "insurance" from them.

Don’t waste your money!
Absolute joke of a company. Never even heard of them before until I started asking around. I found only two people have had them in the past and switched companies because they were so horrible.
If you happen to get into a car accident with someone insured by them, do yourself a favor and file a claim with your OWN insurance company. Do not go through them.They don’t reach out to you, you have to constantly follow up with them. “Out of the office” email responses are an every day thing. Horrible customer service they will find every way possible to nickel and dime you and not give you what you deserve.
Make sure you get everything written in email correspondence if you are forced to go through them. Everything they say in a phone call never happened. Very shady.

INSURANCE AGENT SHOWED UP AT MU HOME UNNANOUNCED OR UNVITED WHILE I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND TOOK IT UPON HIMSELF TO TRESSPASS ON MY PROPERTY AND COMPLETE THE HOME INSPECTION WHICH I HAVE CAPTURED ON MY RING CAMERA. THEY ALSO MADE AN ERROR WITH MY MORTGAGE COMPANY AND ESCROW ACCOUNT WHICH PAID THEM IN FULL FOR THE YEAR, WHILE I HAD OTHER COVERAGE. I WILL BE CANCELING WHEN THE POLICY EXPIRES AS THEY ALSO MESSED UP MY MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE COVERAGE AND I HAD TO PAY FOR 11 DAYS "UNUNSURED" PENALTY TO THE STATE. GO ELSEWHERE. I WOULD RATHER GO BACK TO GEICO THAN DEAL WITH THIS AGENCY AGAIN, AND THAT SAYS ALOT.

If you want a company that treats you right and fully fixes your car... Keep shopping, Hanover insurance is not for you.
We had a small fender bender that took nearly two months to fix and we had to pay out of pocket to fully repair our car. Hanover said the female want from the accident... It was.. even the repair shop agreed.. but they still denied it. The claims agent was impossible to get a hold of, was not knowledgeable, and overall terrible to work with. I wouldn't recommend Hanover to my enemies.

Warning!! Go Someplace Else For Insurance!!!
We had 2 vehicles and our house insured with Hanover,
Last year our car was totaled in a Hail Storm (no fault of ours). On the initial call I made I was told I should keep a blanket in my car for further storms LOL My car was totaled! she told me someone would be getting a hold of me, no one ever did so 4 days later I called him and he told me to take my car to a place of my choice to have it looked at, I could have already had that done! a few days later they called me to tell me it was totaled but we wanted to keep it it was just dents and a window and light we could have had replaced, the agent got really mad, I think she anticipated and already did the paperwork so got mad that we wanted to keep it, she basically threatened us with you will never be able to insure it it's been deemed totaled! we thought about it for a day and decided to go ahead and total it.
Now there were hoops to jump through and we were jumping through them, they also had hoops but decided to sidestep those screwing us, we were supposed to release the car to the towing company so they could pick it up but first we had our stuff in the car and the plates on it and some after market stuff we wanted to get off of it since we were buying the exact same car just newer, the second we told her we accepted the total she sent someone after the car (basically stealing it!) we did not release it, All we got back were our plates! we were compensated for the stuff, but insurance companies don't compensate you, they jacked our auto insurance $1000 a year As Well As Jacking our House Insurance over $1000 a year trying to get their money back immediately apparently, it backfired on them, I switched insurance companies and they NEVER got another dime out of me! I'm paying a bit more than I was but not what they were trying to take!
