Bafang bbs02 motor parts

Ordered parts for my Bafang bbs02 motor, arrived 2 weeks later to the UK, (was expecting that amount of time) got notifications on time of delivery, packaged well, great service and also cheaper than anyone else I could find.
Its difficult sometimes when buying from a company that you know little about, but I read lots of reviews and took the plunge and had a good experience, (unlike in the past where I got bit) Would buy from them again.

I have bought several kits and all but…

I have bought several kits and all but the first have been excellent. Even that one I found the company helpful to solve issues. I find it better to buy hubs and all the ancillary parts and have wheels built here.
I would not hessitate to use the,m again. Delivery has always been quick asnd the items well packed and as described. The original hub from 2019 is still going strong.
Thanks to Anna at GBK.

Slechte service bij defect artikel

I bought a set with an integrated controller
I bought a set with a controller integrated into the battery case. After installation my engine gave a heavy rattling sound. I had another separate controller lying around so I installed it. With that the set works fine, so the controller is defective. I have reported this and they keep sending emails asking if the connections are correct and all sorts of other nonsense. I have explained the problem 10 times already, but they don't want to listen. Their tactic is that they hope you get so discouraged by the nagging that you eventually give up.

Richard

I made two orders from them in the span of 6 years

I made two orders from them, one in 2013, and one in 2019. My first order in 2013 was my first ebike conversion kit, so it was in the budget zone. Cheap battery, 500W bafang hub motor built into a rim, basic controller. Everything worked and when I needed support the response time was fast. The battery case was quite poor in quality and definitely lacked some weatherproofing, but the price was also quite low. I'd say it was an ok experience.

Second purchase in 2019 I ordered a little over $1000 USD of stuff. BBSHD mid motor, big battery 52V 17Ah. I assumed everything to work right out of the box. Boy was I wrong on this one. Nothing happened when everything was connected. It turns out the BMS in the battery was bad. What made it worse was that I had 10 battery cells inside the battery that was completely discharged. They sent some replacement parts, but I still had to put in the hours to manually recharge those depleted cells, and solder in the new BMS. Since this time I had more knowledge about batteries and ebikes, I noticed instantly the poor worksmanship of the battery assembly when I opened the case. Unlike the first order, the case was very high quality, because it was sourced from a well known manufacturer. The actual assembly of the cells to the BMS was terrible. Lots of corner cutting when it comes to connecting the cells together in a parallel group, which puts certain nickel plated steel strips under much more current. They also don't use pure nickel strips. The BMS was put on its side instead of on the top of the case, like the case manufacturer designed it to be. Of the entire kit, the only part that was not sourced from another manfacturer was the battery cell assembly, and the worksmanship was horrible. After lots of work to get the battery working I realized I only have 1/3 of the capacity that I was promised. In the end I got $200 USD refunded back to me, which really covered only a little more than what I paid for shipping.

In the end it was a lot of time wasted. The support was always fast, but I realized later on that it wasn't always very knowledgeable support. I questioned them on whether the cells will lose capacity severely before I did any work on the battery and was only told not to worry. In the end I was right and I was the one who lost all that time.
