Grant stone is awesome!

I bought a pair of Grant Stone Ottawa’s in crimson cxl back on Jan 2023. The first pair I got was a 9.5D because that’s what I normally wear in Thursday boots and Beckett Simonon. When I got the boots and tried them on I immediately could tell the boots were too big. I ended up exchanging it for a 9D. The second pair of Ottawa’s I got from them was a 9D and they fit perfectly however, after a couple weeks of wearing, a lot of loose grain or grain break showed up. I contacted GS and I spoke to Gio via e-mail. He assured me that this was normal and that there’s nothing wrong with the boots. After another week I emailed them back because the entire vamp of my left boot was covered in loose grain. There were no parts of the boot that did not have loose grain. It looked ugly and I requested an exchange after I sent in photos. Gio and Wyatt ended up exchanging the boot for me and hand picked out a pair that did not have any loose grain back in February. The new pair has no loose grain or grain break whatsoever. It has creases where all my boots crease but that’s it. The leather is super thick, supple, and smooth. I thought they would for sure tell me to kick rocks because apparently this is common among chrome tanned leather. I had other cxl boots and they did not have this bad of grain break.

I am a huge fan of the company now. My boots are perfect in every way and I’m glad I said something about the loose grain when everyone else was telling me it was normal and it was a lottery. These Ottawa’s are a beautiful boot. Almost like art and I didn’t want to wear them and scuff them up but I love them. Because of their cs I will be a customer for life and I’m glad because they make great boots. Their boots are unique, durable, finished well ( you can’t even tell where the welt starts and ends), comfortable out of the box, and they look sexy yo me. Just a little bit of Saphir renovator and the boot shines like no other. It’s the best boot in my collection of boots. Thanks in advance!

One word: incompetent

I have enough of these companies that goes on multiples social media plateforme and suppose influencers to tell people how great their products and services are, but when come time to act, they aren't able to answer some basic info. After seing some interview from the owners, i wanted to get one of their product. I send an email for sizing advise with exact measurement of my foots and get a same generic answer from their website and basically the person said if it doesn't fit i can return it. Who in their right mind want to buy something and waste their time to go back to the poste office for a return. As a bootmaker they should know that great fit can be obtain by playing with the width when deciding to go tts or sizing down. Do they know that general sneakers brand doesn't have width option. They should offer a proper training to their staff. After all i wont be trying their product.
