Not an easy experience.

I had previously had hallway flooring installed by this company to a high standard, and went back to arrange fitting of a carpet in a bedroom and cupboard. The day before the agreed fitting date, I had been out for the day, and on coming back was very surprised to find that the carpet fitters had entered my property through the back door, which I had unfortunately left unlocked (they must have tried the front door first), and laid the carpet in the bedroom but not the cupboard. On contacting the company, I was told by the department manager that I had been contacted (twice, apparently) by phone to arrange the earlier fitting date. No contact had been made, but the company insisted that this was the case, basically insinuating that I was either lying or forgetful. I received a few phone calls demanding settlement of the account, which I fortunately had not done as the agreed job including the cupboard had not been completed. I suggested that they either send somebody out to finish the job, or offer me a discount to compensate for the incomplete work, but was told that since the fitters had already been paid for the job, the managers (Gillies) would question any extra payments or discounts. I then withheld final payment until the cupboard carpet was installed, which did happen several weeks later. It was a bad experience made worse by the managers’ lack of ownership of the situation, which they tried to blame on me. As I told them, I would have been happy to show them my phone records to show that no call had been made, as they claimed, to arrange a different date for the fitting. A pity, as I had previously been impressed by their range of carpets and flooring, and the quality of their fitting.
Edit: I’ve just updated this review from one to two stars, as, to be fair, the job was eventually done to a good standard. It was the attitude of the managers that I dealt with that left a bad feeling, as well as the original carpet fitters entering my property without my prior consent, essentially breaking in. I have no complaints though with the quality of the carpet or the workmanship that was carried out.

We recently purchased two 3 seater sofas from the Hamilton range and were guided through the whole process by Ann Stone. From start to finish she was extremely friendly, approachable and professional answering all our questions and explaining everything very well.A great asset to the sales team.Well done

Great service, great selection and great staff.

Our third visit to Grampian Furnishers and third set of purchases. The staff who dealt with us, Ann, Judith and Ross, were all exceptionally pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. The shop has a great selection of furnishings to suit many tastes. Their communication with customers on orders and deliveries is excellent. And the café is superb as well.

Coffee shop review

I am not one for reviews but having visited the store for the first time yesterday I wanted to take a moment to comment on the customer service in the cafe. The store itself is lovel and has a fabulous selection. The cafe has a lovely position, with pleasant views and a bright airy feel. However, having waited at the sign to be seated, we were addressed by a female member of staff, who I believe to have been in charge, who was leaning against the front of the counter. She did not come over to us, approximately 5m away, and instead spoke to us loudly so as to be heard, asking what we wanted, ie coffee or lunch. This seemed a very strange and unprofessional manner. We were instructed to find a table with no further insight into the process. Having decided upon coffees and scones we were then unsure as to whether it was table service or if we were to go to the counter. On standing to go and enquire, the same lady again shouted across to tell us we would be served at our table and that there were 2 people ahead of us.
I will however say that the other 2 servers were very pleasant and the coffee and scones were delightful.
On paying at the counter, it was clearly evident that there was some tension between the other staff and the said female; 1 girl was making coffee and the lady in question asked her to stop and take our payment rather than taking it herself despite standing there! There was obvious disdain in regard to this. Overall this was a very unprofessional example of customer service by this one member of staff, made worse given the fact she was in charge!!

I ordered a Rise & Recliner chair from …

I ordered a Rise & Recliner chair from this store 19/4/2023, It arrived 3/7/2023, there was a scratch in the leather, fixed 19/7/2023. Some weeks later I was feeling the wooden frame on my left arm. It was reported on 2 different ocasions & dealt by 2 different companies. Apparently they go for looks and not comfort. After a lot of too & froing Grampian Furnishers the final technician told me this would keep happening but he put it down to be fixed. The "padding" was sent to me while I waited for a date for a technician. The "padding" is less than an inch of foam. I had tried to get my deposit back 2wks after ordering. They said I would lose my deposit! It wasn't like they had started to make the chair. I went to C.A.B. where they gave me a template to sent to ADR which is now CDRL With my complaints to both GF. & CDRL they both came back saying I was to blame for how I use the chair. I am in my 70s & disabled. How on earth can you be to blame for "sitting" in this chair. I was told that I shouldn't have to touch the "armrests" that's why I have the Rise & Recliner. They expect me to sit and hug myself so I couldn't even relax on the "ArmRest" of this chair. The final ruling telling me this arrived from CDRL and it took them over 3mths to tell me this.

Bought two very expensive large Sofas…

Bought two very expensive large Sofas last year , delivered late November. Four weeks in Sofas look like something out of a Charity Shop
, in fact I ve seen better in Charity Shops.
Grampian Furnisher sent out a so called Expert who just happened to work for the Sofa Manufacturer. Was told this was a Characteristic of these Sofas. Biased and One Sided Report, then referred to DRLS who are supposed to be impartial, again very biased in favour of the Seller. Don t touch them , they ll do and say anything to get out of any responsibility and obligations

Faulty sofas

I have bought many items from Grampian furnishers and always been delighted
Unfortunately I recently bought two large sofas
They took almost 5 months to arrive, which was standard and we didn’t mind waiting.
They were only one month old when they started to squeak…a fault in the springs.m we were told when the first technician came out.
5 months on and we still haven’t had any help with this problem. So very unfortunate as these were expensive sofas and so far we have had no help in solving the problem. Not great when every time you sit down they squeak and you are reminded how expensive these were and how disappointed I am so far with the customer service…still I can always phone (again!) and again
Come on Grampian…you had been fantastic up until now!
