Terrible scam. Do not buy insurance as they will not reimburse you. You have to have medical records or be dead for them to care at all. 0/5. I would go in the negatives if possible. Fanshield is a waste of time and money.

Purchased protection as the forecast was looking iffy. Unfortunately, one person was unable to attend the event due to medical issues (a minor). I submitted the information (screen shot of text from parent with date/time stamp and reasoning) to Fanshield and without medical records, they will not approve the submission.
The advertisement for the benefit is much different than the actual policy coverage and it is extremely frustrating to receive misinformation.

Very clearly stated it covers poor weather when purchasing with Six flags tickets, but it absolutely does not cover the park shutting down for storms and lightening (a common Summer occurrence in Illinois.) The policy is very misleading, and this is not clearly stated in the policy. The only weather issues it covers are if travel becomes impossible.

My daughter and her boyfriend bought tickets and purchased this insurance and clearly stated if it was work related your eligible for a refund. Her boyfriend schedules changed after the tickets was purchased and because it isn’t travel related work the refund was denied!!! Don’t waste your money on these people. You’re gonna lose your money anyways. Stop making this company rich!!!!
Your response makes your company look worse. You claim your coverage is to protect your customers but you did the exact opposite🤦♀️. Whether someone is traveling for work or their schedule was changed it’s still work related. LISTEN PEOPLE DONT USE THEIR COVERAGE BECAUSE THEY WILL FIND A REASON TO NOT COVER YOU!!!!! They have a 2 star rating for a reason!!!

Went to a theme park and purchased tickets for 3 fast passes for some other family members and 3 thrill seeker passes that included the fast passes for myself and my 2 kids. When my grandma slipped and fell my other family members had to go up and be with her and we decided it was best for my kids to celebrate my youngest kids first year of school and I couldn't get a refund from the theme park which they stated they could if I didn't have the insurance from fanshield. Fanshield denied my refund request. Just stick with buying tickets without fanshield.

Never purchased one of these add ons before....BUT for the first time I figured I would do it as I had concern that this particular event was a high risk one for me to able to attend. Thankfully I only paid $11 to insure participation in a $140 Triathlon Event . Today I had cause to actually review the policy to see if my need for a refund was covered.....Once you read the actual policy you realize basically nothing is covered....and IF covered the policy holder has to do lots of paperwork. So much for quick and easy and common sense coverage when you need it. I will not purchase this product ever again. The restrictions are significant.

Honestly only giving two stars because the email service was a quick turnaround. However, I feel that I was scammed out of my refund, because I was unable to provide proof of work travel documentation. So I bought tickets for a Phillies game in August, and purchased this protection plan in the event that I needed to. Anyways, I find out recently that I am doing my Annual Training for the Navy Reserves during that time period, and I put the refund request into FanShield. After trying to explain on email that I am unable to submit documentation because of the sensitivity of the information contained in military travel orders, I was denied a refund. I understand it’s a business, but this company needs to do better.

FanShield offers purchase protection for purchases made on Six Flags America website. I purchased day pass tickets and saw I had a purchase protection opportunity and I figured why not in case an emergency happens or something gets mixed up when I present my purchase at the gate. After purchasing my tickets I then realized I purchased for today instead of tomorrow, 06/19. I immediately attempt to reach out or Six Flags. I was instructed to call a FanShieldand I did so. I was instructed to email support on the matter. When I went to the website to submit my claim, the only reasons FanShield saw plausible to refund you is under Catastrophic Weather Conditions, a ticket holder’s death Or Yours, being robbed, or someone’s having a baby. I immediately went with scheduling conflict. I was immediately denied. I emailed support separately making them aware that they’re stealing money from a single mother who is simply trying to make summer fun with little free money I have. Definitely vultures in a circle preying on minor mishaps to get rich quick from. Despicable.

This company is a scam and falsely advertises. I purchased insurance for my tickets upon believing they would give "100% refund" due to "bad weather". Only when I applied for the refund, the ridiculous options led to providing documentation. When I provided the proof from the Event center, they said my refund was voided due to the event closing/cancelling. Mind you they closed due to "bad weather", closed for our safety. Which they said when advertising, they would cover for "bad weather". No where on the payment site does it warn you no refunds for cancelation or event closing. Which again events will do for bad weather, severe weather for safety reasons. You don't discover this loop hole until you apply for the refund. So wonder how many others have been duped.

FanShield "insurance" is definitely a scam. Do not bother getting "insurance" or "protection" via FanShield.

As sent to them:
Not satisfied with protection terms and conditions, refund request submission process, in addition to unclear protection product information. I paid money to protect money I worked for, there is no reason I should at least not get the value of my tickets and mealplans back to be able to use it for a later time. Make money off the cost of covering it, not by taking and keeping the money. This money in total costed me almost half my paycheck. This company is bad business and should advocate for the customer and not the refund. The refund belongs to us. Good luck staying in business, you're going to need it. The higher you fly, the harder you'll drop. Leave this company while you can and wash your hands clean of this predatory, scamish company. I am not joking.

much like others experiences, its impossible to get a claim approved. but that's fine because we paid with our credit card and will dispute the charges and get my money back. in short, I advise all to very carifuly read the terms and conditions and it would be best if FanShield made it very clear what the purchase insurance covers and what it clearly doesnt

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY
I purchased a Fanshield warranty for the fastpass at Kings Island. My son was unable to attend due to illness (stomach illness that passed). Without a doctor's note, they will not refund. Absolute waste of money.

I believe FanShield operates in a fraudulent manner. I purchased FanShield for a S. F. Giants game. Months before the scheduled game a member of our party was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma requiring radiation and chemotherapy treatment, which prohibited he and his wife from attending the game.
I followed FanShield's instructions, applied for a refund, was given a case number, and was assured by FanShield that, "A dedicated agent will contact you in 3 business days to assist you." Several days past and no one from FanShield contacted me. I attemped to phone FanShield and speak to a representative, but all attemps led back to their automated phone chain. I again contacted FanShield by e-mail and received a new/different case number, (even though I had informed them of the original case number in my e-mail), along with the same assurance that a dedicated agent would contact me in 3 business days. Again several days pasted and FanShield made no contact with me.
At this point I realized FanShield had no intention of speaking with me, nor refunding the ticket purchase price of $316. However, throughout this process, FanShield had assured me that, "If you are not completely satisfied with your refund protection purchase, you may cancel your protection within the window provided in the Terms, as long as the event hasn't occurred." I made the request to cancel my protection policy with FanShield on 5/28/25 and was immediately notified on the FanShield website that my protection contract with them had "Expired". This expiration notice was given to me even though the Giant's game had NOT OCCURRED and was not scheduled until 7/30/25.
Thankfully, I contact the S.F. Giants directly and they were nice enough to understand my situation and offered me a full refund of the ticket price. The Giant's representative also informed me that they had a significant number of other Giant's fans who have a similar experience with FanShield.

I do not recommend getting this warranty, it is better to just go to the park and get a refund. I spent over 400 dollars for my family to go to the park and it was not worth getting the protection because u will not get ur money back but it u go to the park and try to get a refund they will do it right then with out any problems. Do not waste ur money its a scam.

Six Flags should not do business with FanShield. I am a Disable Veteran and bought a ticket for my son to go with his friends to Six flags with his friends. We live 3 hours away. When I purchased the six flag ticket, a prompt popped up for a section to purchase a protection for the ticket incase you weren't able to attend for any reason. I suffer from PTSD and have a TBI along with severe combat anxiety so my attention span isn't that great. However, my father who has leukemia was feeling under the weather, and I wasn't sure if I was going to have to take him in or not, I chose to stay home, and my son had to miss out, because he didn't have a ride. So when I asked for a refund since we didn't use the tickets, since they were specifically for Memorial day weekend only prices and I wouldn't be able to use them any other day, I requested a refund. At first all they wanted was my receipt and when I provided that, four days later is when they wanted a doctors note. This company has not intention of returning your money back to you. DO NOT PURCHASE THE PROTECTION. They SCAM VETERANS especially disabled ones.

Terrible experience, still awaiting on a refund for something in September 2024, where we couldn’t make the event scheduled, a trip five hours away from us, delays in traffic kept us from making it and they want us to give them some kind of document, we don’t understand what document they need when the traffic report can tell them everything, and these are documents that we sent them already multiple documents
Another more recent incident that happened where we couldn’t make a baseball event due to work related delays, I’m a federal employee, and I was ordered to work until the late hours of the evening, I sent them the information of the notification saying that I had to work I sent them the Receipt of purchase that they were requesting, and it shows proof of validated seats, seats that they can pull up and see that they were never used, and they were never scanned, at this point I don’t even know what else they need, they’re asking for documentation, What other documentation would you want from a federal employee that’s already giving you everything federally given to him… altogether, we spent over $1700 on things that we were not covered for, even though we paid for the insurance and we followed all the rules all the requests, still in the emailing back-and-forth for further proof, and there is no direct line to talk to anybody, this is a terrible business, it should be absolutely looked into

I should of looked into this company before purchasing extra protection for my concert tickets. It stated it covers illnesses. My husband and I came down withthe flu. Vomiting and diarrhea! We were too ill to attend a concert 2hrs away. Thinking oh good, we should get a refund....only to apply for the refund to be told we needed a physician examination to prove we were too ill to attend! WHAT!! THIS WAS NEVER SPELLED OUT AHEAD OF THE PURCHASE! WHO CAN AFFORD TO SEE A PHYSICIAN IN THE ER ON A WEEKEND, just to get proof we were Vomiting and had diarrhea! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. DON'T PURCHASE THE EXTRA INSURANCE. They put you through the wringer just to get your money back. You'll end up spending more than the actual worth of the concert tickets for proof. Totally ridiculous!
