I forgot it was locked

I forgot it was locked and was refused a new credit line. I was perplexed until I realized the credit lock was engaged. I unlocked it and the approval sailed thru. It really works!

Held my credit hostage for a $24.99 ransom

Experian blocks your account behind a paywall if a payment fails, with no way to cancel online, forcing you to call during banker hours like it’s 1998. This isn’t credit monitoring, it’s a predatory subscription trap. Shameful. Hard to trust a company that’s supposed to guard your financial reputation when their own shady tactics breed nothing but suspicion and distrust.

I recently used Experian Credit Boost

I recently used Experian Credit Boost, and overall, I think it’s a useful tool—especially if you’re trying to improve your credit score quickly. It’s free and pretty easy to set up. All you have to do is connect your bank account, and Experian looks for recurring payments like rent, utilities, streaming services, and even phone bills. If they find consistent on-time payments, they can add that positive history to your Experian credit report.

For me, the setup was straightforward and took less than 10 minutes. I saw a small bump in my credit score within a day or two—around 10 points. It’s not a miracle fix, and it won’t erase past negative marks, but if you’re someone with a thin file or trying to rebuild credit, it’s worth trying.

One thing to keep in mind: it only affects your Experian score, not TransUnion or Equifax. Also, it doesn’t work with all banks, so if your account isn’t supported, that could be frustrating.

Pros:
Free to use.
Can improve your credit score quickly.
Recognizes everyday bills that don’t usually count toward credit, like Netflix, Hulu, Phone Bills.

Cons:
Only helps your Experian credit report.
I has Limited bank account compatibility.
Also, Won’t help to much if you already have a strong credit history.

Bottom Line: Experian Boost is a good option if you're looking to raise your score a few points without spending money or opening new credit accounts. Just be sure you understand its limits.

Absolutely ridiculous

Absolutely ridiculous. At the first glance great company but after 3 days they blocked me out of my account. For a month I'm unable to log in and the customer service and their IT are just going in loops in emails without any help. On top of that they are sending me emails that my credit score is locked (what I done before they blocked my account) but I can't reverse it. And cherry on the top is that today they charged me for first subscription month, on the account I can't access. Definitely avoid this company. Oh yeah and if you want to speak with someone make sure that you have unlimited credit on phone and a tons of patience for vending machines not letting you through to the human.

I have continued to receive…

I have continued to receive notifications ( and not from Experian) through the mail of attempts to use my information to open savings accounts, credit cards and the most recent is an attempt ( not sure if it’s been successful yet) to get Unemployment Benefits in my name. Try to navigate the Unemployment system!!!

Worked for me

The process is simple and relatively quick, and my credit score received a significant boost (from payments on rent, utilities and cell phone). I'm just a regular guy reporting the Truth.
