AVOID! Incomplete and Wrong item

Shipped the wrong item. Contacted them thru email. They said it take 4 to 7 weeks to process the claim. I have heard nothing else. Seems as if they are doing nothing. And don't care.

Truly worst CX in history

Scenario:
Ordered in-stock, $400 lamp May 31. Arrived June 15 with a factory-deformed bulb socket. The socket is tilted 5 degrees, clear as day. Immediately look for customer service chat or phone number on English Elm’s website, but English Elm offers neither. It instead requests at least 2 emailed photos per the English Elm returns page. Gladly provided 3. That wasn’t enough. English Elm next said it needed shipping box photos. Provided 7 box photos. A return label can next be generated, right? No. Was told it may be another 5-7 days to receive a “first response,” a timeline that aligns with that of English Elm’s manufacturer’s and shipper’s. (What the heck?) Regardless, wait 8 days, no response. Reach out and receive reply that customer service’s response was mistakenly saved in draft. Sure. Ask for my money back and receive it. Wasn’t told what to do with the lamp, so I reached back out for a return label. “Please donate it and then send us donation receipt.” Translated, English Elm doesn’t want to spend a dime to help you return its product, but at your cost it will want you to find a way to help the company financially benefit from a donation. So, we set the lamp aside thinking we’ll get to it. Then 7 days later get email from English Elm asking for donation receipt…

Wow. Just wow. Unbelievable on all accounts. English Elm customer service can’t reply when it matters to the customer. It can only reply when it matters to the business, and when the customer can pay out of their own pocket to help the business. Throughout it all customer service never even addressed me by name, nor did it offer any future discount for the awful product and experience. What a truly terrible company.

Super fast delivery!

The website is easy to navigate. The bed is beautiful, even better than the photos. The shipment was delivered within days of placing the order. Everything was in perfect condition. The only (minor) complaint was that we had no idea how long it would take to get the item in advance or even upon placing the order -- we were left wondering, and then several days later got a notice it had shipped. Def not the norm for furniture, and a little tricky for us as we travel a great deal, but it all worked out in the end. Thank you to Engilsh Elm
