A Tragic Failure in Care — Please Read Before Choosing This Provider

Dr. Elizabeth Story should not be practicing medicine.

My fiancé died in my arms as a result of her failure to provide appropriate medical care during an at-home alcohol detox. According to the Texas Medical Board, Dr. Story failed to examine him in person, failed to monitor clear signs of relapse, and did not complete his medical records until after his death. The Board found that her actions may have contributed to his death, and placed her under disciplinary action.

Although she has since completed the Board’s required corrective steps, a permanent disciplinary flag remains on her license. This is a matter of public record. You can verify it by visiting the Texas Medical Board website and using the “Look Up a Doctor” tool.

It is also disturbing to see glowing reviews across multiple platforms posted by individuals with apparent personal ties to her—misleading to the public and dangerous to future patients.

Please read the Board’s findings and make your own judgment. What happened in our case should never happen to anyone else.

Rude, dismissive, and unprofessional

Unfortunately, my recent visit was the final straw. It was an absolute disaster from start to finish.

Firstly, the wait time was outrageous. I arrived for my appointment 15 minutes early, only to be left waiting for over an hour. When I finally saw Dr. Story, she seemed completely disinterested in my concerns. She barely looked at me, and when I tried to explain my symptoms, she interrupted me constantly.

She dismissed my concerns as "nothing serious" and refused to order any tests. I left feeling unheard, frustrated, and worried about my health. It was clear she wasn't listening to me, and I felt like I was just another number in her busy schedule.

To add insult to injury, her bedside manner was atrocious. She was rude, dismissive, and frankly, unprofessional. I've never felt so belittled by a medical professional.

I'm switching doctors immediately. I strongly advise anyone considering Dr. Story to reconsider. You deserve a doctor who listens, cares, and takes your health seriously.
