Update, terrible customer service

Update: spoke with the lady on the customer service line this morning and she was extremely rude and basically told me that based on the notes of what I was asking for, they didn't feel they could meet my needs. I explained I am able to adjust my expectations, and the notes on a new order and she said they would just cancel that one too all my previous notes are saved to my account. She refused to let me speak to anyone else and she blocked my number. It won't go through when I call but if I do *67 to block my number, it works. Very unprofessional and extremely rude. I was willing to adjust my expectations and work with them but they refused to even try and salvage a relationship, giving the excuse they've been in business for years and k ow when a customer won't be happy, essentially telling me what I would an would not like. There has to be someone else in the company that I can speak to. Looks like my review was removed too, I guess they don't want the public to know accurate information on how they treat their customers. If it's the actual owner who sees these comments and responds, please reach out to me, I would love to talk to you regarding your customer service and how this situation was handled.

I was so pleased and happy with my first two orders and placed a third, bigger one. Without calling to discuss with me my order was canceled. I've tried calling several times to talk to someone and keep getting forwarded to voicemail. I was told over email, while my calls are ignored, the bonsai specialist felt it wouldn't meet my expectations but I get nothing more on what exactly that means nor was I called/emailed and asked if it was something I'd be ok with. I find it hard to believe that of all 3 trees I ordered, one being a best seller, that none of them were fit to be sold? It feels as though I am being dismissed as a customer and I wish I could talk with someone instead of them having been ignoring my calls in what feels like an intentional act. There was a better way this situation could have been handled and customer service failed entirely. I wish I could speak with the owner directly. I am happy to change this review once someone calls and talks with me so we can figure this out in a better manner as I have honestly otherwise been pleased with my purchases and the customer service I was receiving prior to this. I wish I could speak with the bonsai specialist personally to see what the exact issue was and if it's something I wouldn't mind.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience!!!

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience!!!
The chinese elm I ordered was NOTHING like what I received, it was about 1/2 the age with barely any branches whatsoever and it dried up like a prune when I received it. DO NOT deal with this company. They are way overpriced and deceitful.

Bugs, Fungus & Dead

We ordered two of the Fukien flowering tea trees. The trees arrived totally dead and covered in crawling bugs and the leaves have a white fungus infection. The soil was frozen and rock hard. These were going to be Christmas gifts, but I would be ashamed to give them. Stay far away from Eastern Leaf!

Dead looking tree, poor customer service

I purchased a bonsai tree to give as a gift and it arrived with 90% of the leaves fallen. The foliage was dry and yellow. They claimed it was “ normal rotation of foliage after transit and due to the season.” The tree looks dead. They will not refund unless it’s returned with the customer paying for shipping. Do not recommend this company.

HORRIBLE SHIPPING/NO HELPFUL CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Sadly, I had not seen this site prior to buying my plants from them.

Eastern Leaf ‘claims’ they ship with heat packs to cold climates.

Mine was sent to Minnesota in 30 degree weather and NOTHING was done to protect the plant.

The soil was FROZEN when I received them!

I put a thermometer into the soil and it was around 36 degrees and I was at home to receive the boxes at my door!!

They use UPS and they had delayed / rescheduled my package NUMEROUS times!

When I called Eastern Leaf, they only proceeded to tell me to send pictures as others discuss here, and didn’t say they were sorry/etc.

Nothing else has been done yet and nobody even bothered to call / contact me after I sent the pictures !!!!

Any company that takes pride in their products should react instantly to their complete failure to ship properly resulting in a plant that is dead/dying for no reason !!

This has wasted hundreds of dollars of my time in addition to the high cost of the plant - I can only hope I will end up at least getting a replacement

Buyer beware

Buyer beware. Bought a juniper and after 2 months it's dying, full of bugs and no support from the company.
I emailed many pictures after it started dying, they just send suggestions on what to do. Did all of it, still dying.
Stay away, no backing their own product.

Sends customers unhealthy bonsai trees

Do not purchase a Bonsai tree from this company..they send you half dead trees and then after 30 days your tree dies and they say too bad..our warranty is 30 days..you can not have another tree or your money back..no warranty ever seen by the consumer. The complaints on the BBB are the same..the company sends you unhealthy trees and you just wasted your money...Do Not Purchase a tree from Eastern Leaf! I lost over $100.00 They could care less! This company is the worst!

Don't waste your money ...

I called to complaint about the two plant I received from them. They told me to take pictures and someone would get back to me. Since the pictures were sent and after a week, I didn't hear from them, I continued to send emails, and have received no communication back. Don't waste your money. The plants come in boxes and the dirty the plants are in are hard as concrete. So embarrassing, and I feel so stupid wasting money on them a second time thinking the first plant was a fluke.

Bait & switch

Bait & switch. They show you a flowering plant on the website. You expect to receive a flowering plant, and all you get is green leaves. When you ask, "Why no flowers?". They tell you it's the wrong season and you have to flower it yourself. I wouldn't have ordered if I'd known this tiny detail.

I had ordered from this company before…

I had ordered from this company before and the trees have always been in great condition. However this time I ordered the tree is full of brown leaves. I contacted customer service and I was advised that during this time of year the tree does not bloom and to send an email to support.
After sending the email basically i was told that I needed to bring the tree back to live because it is a HEALTHY tree and to wait and see.
No other option was given, no we will exchange it, you can return it nothing
I asked for an exchange but I will not pay for the shipping but I am still waiting on an answer.

Not willing to work with you. Products don't look like photos.

The company send out inferior product and uses the expensive return shipping to keep people from returning. Don't believe the review ratio. This is not a 5 star company.

I purchased a tree for my anniversary from Eastern Leaf. I was horribly disappointed in the product that arrived. I was expecting only some leaves from other reviews. What I didn't expect is it to look like nothing but a twig in the ground. They advertise a mature tree but send out a freshly healed scion.

I purchased a watering can as well. I couldn't be more disappointed in the quality. It was poorly manufactured plastic. I wanted to return but shipping for me would be too expensive. I called customer support and they didn't care.
