Won't stand behind a survey for less than 2 years
We commissioned an £800 tree survey in support of a planning application to build a natural pond in our garden in 2023. The report recommended that we adapt our plans and move the location of the pool to preserve a higher quality tree. We followed this recommendation and it led to our proposal being rejected based on insufficient information showing the adapted design. We then submitted a new proposal with appropriate designs and fully incorporating all recommendations made in the survey. There was a comment made by the local parish that because the report was almost 2 years old, we would need a new one. Nothing on the site has changed and the only design change was to reflect the report's recommendation. When I asked Down to Earth to confirm that, all things being the same (meaning, no changes had been made in the garden) they would still stand behind the report, they said they would not (not even 24 months later) and would require another site visit and new report for another £340 + VAT. Very disappointing that they would not stand behind their survey. We should note that we were previously happy customers.
