Won't stand behind a survey for less than 2 years

We commissioned an £800 tree survey in support of a planning application to build a natural pond in our garden in 2023. The report recommended that we adapt our plans and move the location of the pool to preserve a higher quality tree. We followed this recommendation and it led to our proposal being rejected based on insufficient information showing the adapted design. We then submitted a new proposal with appropriate designs and fully incorporating all recommendations made in the survey. There was a comment made by the local parish that because the report was almost 2 years old, we would need a new one. Nothing on the site has changed and the only design change was to reflect the report's recommendation. When I asked Down to Earth to confirm that, all things being the same (meaning, no changes had been made in the garden) they would still stand behind the report, they said they would not (not even 24 months later) and would require another site visit and new report for another £340 + VAT. Very disappointing that they would not stand behind their survey. We should note that we were previously happy customers.

Specialists at what they do, you get a proper job!

I have had lots of different tree surgeons in the past but now I always use Down To Earth. They are 100% brilliant, and I believe I get value for money. Specialists at what they do, you get a proper job! They have performed 5 significant tree surgeries for us now, including managing permissions and work on protected trees (from start to finish). Always leave my garden clean, tidy with healthy, beautiful-looking trees.

Excellent company, very honest, would recommend without hesitation

Excellent company, very knowledgeable and helpful.
We'd been worrying about a eucalyptus that has quite a lean on it and wondered if it was in danger of falling, Ben assured us it was fine and explained why.
He also identified a 25ft tree we'd bought from the garden centre that would 'only grow to about 15 ft' as a Liquid Amber - we aren't worried about the height but were curious as to how high it might go. Seems it could grow quite a bit higher but the branches are thin so it's not going to be a problem.
