Great product and company! Fits perfectly and helps my dog navigate difficult nights from fireworks and storms. Product came with a free dog toy, which was a nice unexpected bonus. Doggie Hush is great to work with and will be buying again in the future if additional sizes are needed.

Please don't buy this product. Buried in the fine print is both a restocking fee and a shipping fee if you decide to return it. It's a shady product because most dogs won't wear it. Our dog wouldn't. It's not worth the risk to try and then have to pay.

I just bought them and they DO NOT work. Our dog still heard everything, rain, thunder, cars etc. He still ran around barking and whimpering during rain storms. He could also still hear his name when he had them on. He also hated the stiff velcro straps that hold it in place on the top of his head and around the neck. When I contacted the company, they actually wrote in an email, that they are not intended to block out any sounds only muffle them which I thought was a bait and switch. Upon sending them back, they deducted $18 from the total I paid ($50). They charged me for the original chipping fee, the return shipping fee AND a restocking fee. I sent the muffs back in perfect condition and returned the free gift (a dog toy) that they had included. PLUS, I was sent a second set by accident and I returned that box unopened. When I reported the extra set and explained that I was going to send it back so they could resell it (trying to help a small business out) they didn't care and didn't offer any remorse about charging me $18 for the restocking fee. Bad customer service, ineffective product. I will be more hesitant to purchase stuff like this in the future. This is why people buy off big businesses like Amazon vs. small businesses anymore. Free returns is hard to beat. Buying and trying this product COST ME money.

I tried everything else: sound machines, calming treats, nothing worked. This hush device finally did the trick.

Whenever someone knocked, my dog Boris threw a huge fit. It was awkward greeting guests. With Doggie Hush, he’s calmer, and visits are finally peaceful. Did not expect that at all.

Our dog is terrified of thunder and fireworks. We just purchased the headphones and thought we’d have to wait until Spring to test them out. On New Year’s Eve someone started setting off fireworks in the park near our house. We put the headphones on him and could immediately see he wasn’t as panicked. They seemed to work to help calm our dog.

Shipping and service was stellar, but unfortunately my dog hated his DoggieHush headphones, despite the lengthy adjustment period we implemented. Plus, the noise canceling really turned out to be minimal. Definitely not up to fireworks noise, not even when they were distant.

The dog still hears everything and is afraid the return shipment is way too expensive and the information was totally wrong

The Doggie Hush did not help my dog. With the headphones on, my dog still hears the fireworks and gets nervous. I imagine the device works for other dogs, but not for Negro, my dog 😔

I was waiting with the review about the Headsets till end of the year period passed where there has been lot of fireworks going round on irregular times. Our dogs are scared and don't want to walk or do their business anymore when there're outside. In the house they are stressed to.
I took the headsets with me during walks and for 1 dog it works pretty well. She will continue with her short walk. Also in the house (fireworks or thunderstorm) she will remain pretty calm. So for her it works! Less stress for her, less stress for me.
The other dog has his ears more backwards which makes it more challenging for the headset to stay and also shakes his headset off, so unfortunately for him it doen's work.
They were both in the dog hotel at a quite place for our intens fireworks at New Years Eve and I will continue with that. To use the head sets on that extreme nights, they won't do the work, but in softer situations I can recommend them.
The company Doggie Hush resend one headset after it was missing in the original shipment. The communication went easy and delivery was good.

These have been a game changer for my boy, Ned! Thunder and fireworks stress him out. Once he heard them there was nothing that could soothe him. Until I tried these headphones! Now he hears them, he get stressed (panting, shaking, clinging to me), I put them on and a little while later he is laying down in a zen trance. It even helped his anxiety at the vet yesterday. I brought them just to show my vet but Ned wouldn’t settle in the waiting room so I figured why not put them on and see if it helps? He settled down after a few minutes.
I also appreciated the communication and help I received before buying them. I emailed asking some questions and their response was prompt and informative. There was a confidence that they believe in their product and aren’t just a gimmick to make sales.
I am a dog trainer and get asked often how to help with fear of thunder and fireworks. We get a couple months of thunderstorms here a year, so these are my go-to recommendation.

I tested the headphones on my 12-year-old dog for New Year's Eve. She has been panicking every year, and last year was especially bad. She hid under the blanket, trembling and panting heavily until 5 a.m. This time, she also stayed in bed, but she wasn’t trembling or panting. After a short while, she fell asleep. I couldn’t take the headphones off until 3 a.m. because it was so loud for so long, but they didn’t bother her while she was sleeping. I was so relieved that she felt so much better with them. Thank you so much!

I came across Doggie Hush products on Instagram. After checking out several accounts, I decided to purchase the headphones for both of my dogs. I have two Border Collies. One only gets nervous about fireworks indoors, while the other is constantly on edge, no matter where we are. Their anxiety gets intense—they become extremely nervous and bark non-stop. For years, I’ve been trying to improve this situation because here in Rotterdam/the Netherlands, it often feels like a war zone during New Year's Eve. The fireworks even start as early as October. We’ve already been using the Fireworks Package from Puur—natural powders and drops to build up a sense of calm. However, that has never been enough for New Year's Eve. So… I decided to give the Doggie Hush headphones a shot. And I have to admit, I was very skeptical!
Well ahead of time, I had the dogs try on the Doggie Hush headphones several times to ensure a proper fit. They weren’t thrilled about wearing them (a quirk of my dogs, not the headphones themselves), so it was important to make sure they stayed in place even if the dogs shook their heads. Once the fit was right, they seemed to tolerate them well.
New Year's Eve kicks off here around 11 a.m. with intense firecrackers. As it gets dark, it progresses to firecrackers combined with aerial fireworks and the typical accompanying sounds. These are the sounds my dogs are most reactive to. On previous New Year’s Eves, my youngest dog would refuse to go outside, which often led to accidents in the house. This year, I started putting the headphones on her in the afternoon. They helped her feel more at ease, allowing her to pee in the garden and not react to every single bang. If a large round of fireworks went off, her anxiety would rise a little, and she might bark once or twice. However, we were always nearby to reassure or correct her when necessary. Overall, it was very manageable!
My oldest dog (now 9 years old) has always been confused by the lights in the sky. For the first time in his life, he was relatively calm and could watch the fireworks from inside while sitting beside me. He whined a bit, but with reassurance and us reacting cheerfully and enthusiastically to the sounds and colors, he became even calmer. With the Doggie Hush headphones, his anxiety was much more controlled. Without them, he would escalate much faster. In fact, at one point, he even wanted to wander outside in the garden, sniff around, pee, and poop. Initially, he wore the Doggie Hush headphones, but later on, he managed without them.
Even my youngest dog managed to pee just 10 minutes before midnight, despite some fairly loud fireworks nearby, all while wearing the Doggie Hush headphones! We were so proud!
By 11:45 p.m., both dogs were chewing on treats—a first for them during New Year's Eve—thanks to the Doggie Hush headphones. Of course, there were moments when it became a bit too much for them, but with reassurance and ensuring the headphones fit well, we experienced our calmest New Year's Eve in nine years!
In my opinion, negative reviews likely come from people who think these headphones are a miracle cure. Of course, they aren’t. There’s more to it than just putting on the headphones and being done with it. We closed our curtains, watched TV (a bit louder than usual), and took additional steps to help our dogs during this challenging time. No single solution is ever enough, especially for severe anxiety.
So, instead of complaining, reflect on your own approach and take more action for next year ;)
Doggie Hush Headphones work perfectly IN COMBINATION with other measures to neutralize stress. We, as owners, are also a crucial part of this combination. We are incredibly happy with this addition to our stress-management approach! Thank you so much for your help and quick service! <3

this is a cash grab, a waste of money, taking advantage of desperate pet owners. the product doesn't work at all. you can test it out but putting them and pressing over your year and still, u can hear everything loud and clear.. let alone a dog who can hear x time better than humans

I recently purchased the Doggie Hush headphones for my dog during a trip to the United States, hoping it would help reduce his anxiety during fireworks. Unfortunately, the product did not work as expected. Despite using the headphones, my dog continues to tremble and show signs of distress when exposed to the sound of fireworks.
I followed the instructions carefully, but it seems the headphones were not effective in blocking or reducing the noise to a level that could calm him. I have since returned to Brazil, which makes resolving this issue a bit more challenging.

My dog is mixed breed, so it wasn't really enough to just measure his ears. It still didn't fit properly, sadly. Maybe you could give measurements for the headsize as well.
After the purchase customer service wasn't a big help either.
The product itself is a great idea, you just have to ask for more measurements.
