Big market share but poor quality

Signing in to OneDrive : After I'd input my username, the system took me to another page for the password. I input my password, and got a message in red saying I'd input my particulars incorrectly, that I should re-input carefully and do the not-a-robot test which had now appeared; I was kept on the password entry page. I re-input my password and did the Captcha test four times, and each time the red message appeared (as also the option to change my password). Frustrating, annoying !! Nearly gave up for the day, but decided on a fresh log-in, and for the username realised I hadn't typed in the whole of my email address the first time round; omitted the bit after the @...fine for logging into email accounts, but not ofcourse for Microsoft...my mistake. Surely the system should have produced an error message on the first (username) page, instead of taking me to another -password entry - page. Is basic quality too much to ask of a corporation with massive market share - ??
