I was bummed that I was certain I had pressed the $100 off button as it wasn't available at check out yet paid $699. Great price, don't get me wrong. Just really thought it would be taken care of at checkout or upon receiving the order. Who wouldn't want $100 off?
A bit bummed that 6 weeks after I order there's a deal for 50% off 2nd mic as I would have purchased later and gotten the second. Having worked in musical retail for many years I always tried to afford my clients with all the details of purchasing particularly when they could save money and I could sell them more stuff.

I have upped my game by getting some real great vocal recording mics which includes the DA 87i. I've enough Chinese manufactured mics with K67 capsule clones that are really quite good but this DA 87i is a game changer as far as how my recordings will be in the future. It's a very masculine sounding mic with enough air to not get bogged down in mid range

Lovely microphone!
I was surprised at the low output until I read up on the original U-47. I was opening the trim all the way on my console trying to get a stronger signal. I ordered a PreSonus V2 tube preamp and a high quality Genalex12AX7 tube upon recommendations and suddenly the DA-47 came alive. I couldn't believe the clarity and range. I'm very happy with this microphone!

Excellent service, mic is great although it does have vintage levels of self noise. It is not like a 'modern' Neumann like a TLM103, for example. As long as you know that, it's a bargain. Wonderful.

So far I am not impressed. I used it to record a trumpet and it sounded somewhat distorted even though I had the gain turned way down. I’m waiting to try it on a vocal track.

Ralph, did you try using the -10dB pad switch on the mic? A trumpet is a pretty loud source.
