Fit and confident

I signed my daughter up at D1 in Henderson, NV with a friend to increase her fitness level and confidence. I feel like it has been a positive experience.

Over promise and under deliver

Kevin Murray convinced me to sign my son up with D1 training in Dallas. He was a newly hired employee of D1 Dallas. I live an hour away from the facility, but it was during Christmas break and I thought we could get many of the sessions knocked before school started back up. I purchased multiple sessions as they require. We immediately started having time management problems with Murray. He would reschedule or cancel when we were already at the facility(I live an hour away). He would neglect to reserve the areas of the gym we planned on using. Murray lasted 3 or 4 months as an employee. I still had 4 sessions left and asked for a refund. The first answer was no, so I reached out to the managing partner, Kevin Engelbrecht. Engelbrecht responded to my initial email with empathy. He was appalled at my experience and assured me that he does not do business that way. He said he would be calling me in the next day or so. After a week of not hearing from Engelbrect, I reached out again via email. He called me soon after to discuss my experience. He again assured me that he does not do business that way. After offering to provide a different trainer, I reminded him that I live an hour away and would like to just get a refund. Engelbrect said he understood and promised a refund. After the phone call I felt pretty good. I thought they mistakenly hired a bad employee and got rid of him pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Engelbrect has ghosted me. He never provided the refund he promised, and he hasn’t responded to anything for over a month and a half. I guess he does do business that way. It would appear to me the D1 Dallas, from the top to the bottom, will say anything to get what they want from you.
