Scammers! I had a membership 1 year ago, when I finished my course, I cancelled the membership but was charged anyway. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe I didn’t do the cancellation properly or there was a problem in their website. 2 months ago I decided to do a new course in their website, and last week I am 100% sure that I cancelled my subscription but when I checked again today, my membership was still active. Now I understand that they do it on purpose to get our money as many people will not be allowed to request a refund or they will not request it.

Free course? Nope!
I signed up to take a "free" Python course but must not have read all the details. I completed the course within the 7-day trial period thinking that would be the end of it. But then Coursera charged me $53 for a monthly subscription without any notification that they would do so. I immediately cancelled the subscription, but no refund. That's very unprofessional not to notify me about an upcoming payment.

Certificates are issued with invalid verification links so they are worthless
After completing several courses I was issued with certificates, these have verification links which would be important to prevent fraud, however the links do not work which makes your hard earned credential look like you are trying to fake it.
There is also no way to contact support to report the bug, the chatbot just keeps asking you to rephrase your question differently.

Would not recommend Coursera...
Would not recommend this company or website, as the customer service are very dismissive and do not respond to emails when there are queries for issues regarding payments or refunds. I have waited for over 6 months now; emailing every month and they keep sending a generic message that states they will respond with an update soon. It shouldn't take so long for a simple and fair solution to be offered, but not sure why they feel they have the right to ignore messages and take the customer's money...
I would not recommend this provider. Really poor and dishonest customer service! I may have to report them to Trading Standards next to notify Companies House...

Courses are buggy
Courses are buggy, some feature are not working and reporting them doesn't fix anything, they just don't care. not even a message that they received your complain. Also trying to talk to a human is impossible (or I didn't find out how).

Signed up for free 7 day trial and when I tried to access my account, they would not send me a password reset. I ended up being charged before I could get in to cancel it and by that time, they would not issue a refund. Customer service is a bot and there is no person to talk to.

They Do Value Paying Customers
Update:
Coursera did reach out and offered a good deal, acknowledging my complaint. I have therefore changed the review. However, because of the initial customer support itself I can't give five stars.
Can you imagine that you pay someone 300 USD, and then they offer someone who never paid them a dime a great deal, but refuse to offer you the same deal because you've already paid them money?
No, neither can I. But Coursera can.
I signed up with them for a monthly subscription of 60 USD back in February. I know that they have the yearly subscription of 400 USD, but I can't afford that, so knowing that I would have to pay those 60 USD monthly, I still signed on, looking forward to their new 200 USD offers. And it came now. But not for those of us who are already giving them money, no, we're already tricked into the system, so no need to care about us.
So basically, having paid them 300 USD now they're telling me that they wish to punish me for having done so, by insisting that I still have to pay 520 USD more than a person who never paid them a dime.
That, as well as some issues with their courses which others have touched upon here, have made me decide to leave them. I can forgive a lot, not this. I'm not going to be a money cow they can milk, because of their refusal to take their own courses and understand what building customer loyalty means.

I have signed up 35 days AI learning…
I have signed up 35 days AI learning for about US $47 and only logon once. after 3 months, I have found out that they were charging me every month. No indication was given that I will be subscribed forever when I enrolled for one course and it was hidden in their term and conditions. For me this is unhonest and cheap way to make money.

Terrible, awful...
Terrible service and even worse support. The courses are outdated, the customer support lacks empathy, and the pricing policies feel misleading. Overall, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. There are far better learning platforms available.

Just a bad experience
Really wanted to try out their courses and agreed to a trial subscription. Didn't have time to cancel it and was charged without the ability to refund. What a great experience!

Expensive and Outdated
Expensive and the courses are so base level even when they are described as being suited for more advanced users. Also, the content is pretty dated. I could have learned more and had access to much better content for free on YouTube.

Extremely disappointed with @Coursera.
Extremely disappointed with @Coursera.
Despite my Coursera Plus subscription being officially canceled, the platform continued to attempt charges on my Visa card. This led to multiple failed international transactions, a penalty from my bank (PKR 594.27), and eventually, my card being blocked, forcing me to pay PKR 999 to get a new one.
I contacted Coursera support with all the evidence. Instead of owning the issue, they pushed the blame onto my card provider — even though it was their system that triggered these attempts after cancellation.
What's more disappointing is that I'm only requesting reimbursement for the actual penalty and re-issuance fee — not even asking for compensation for the stress, inconvenience, or loss of access to my own money.
As a loyal learner and paying user, this is not the experience anyone expects from a global education leader.
@Coursera — Please do better for your users.

Massive scam
Massive scam. The certificate is not completable because of an error with the autograder. The absolute loser from Coursera support staff had the nerve to tell me I should reach out to Deep Learning because it must be a problem from their side. Excuse me? Who is my contract with? Oh yes, that is right, Coursera. Not any third party. Just sheer ignorance. Coursera are the hosts of these third parties material. Problems with the infrastructure are absolutely their responsibility. But their customer service people, especially one Xavier, wouldn't know what hard work was if it slapped them round the head with a soggy dish towel. Lazy, unhelpful, scammers. You'd be better taking your money outside and tossing it straight in the gutter than giving it to these incompetent morons.
