I’ve been a long-time Costa customer and take great care of my sunglasses—, 4 pairs alone all are $250 $300 per pair—which are in pristine condition with no scratches or signs of wear except for one major flaw: the nose pieces deteriorated and cannot be replaced. This essentially renders both pairs useless.
When I contacted customer service, I was offered only a 50% discount on a new pair. That’s not exactly appealing when you’ve already invested over $600 into what is marketed as a premium, exclusive product. The interaction I had with their live chat representative, R$&@@&o, was particularly frustrating—dismissive, demeaning, and lacking in any real effort to help. It almost felt personal, as if asking for a reasonable resolution was out of line.
It’s incredibly disappointing that a brand like Costa, with such a loyal following, can’t stand behind its product in a more meaningful way—especially for a known and recurring defect like this.
I’ve since moved on to Bajío sunglasses, which are American-manufactured and assembled in Florida, and I couldn’t be happier with the quality and service.
Costa used to stand for durability, performance, and service. Sadly, that’s no longer the case. I won’t be returning as a customer—and I hope others take note before making the same expensive mistake.

I am on my 3rd pair. The first fell apart and they sent a replacement which are now falling apart after 2 Years. In the mean time I bought another pair which I have had for 3 years which I had ordered with camouflage frames and e also falling apart. The frames of these glasses do not hold up. They won’t replace because they are out of warranty. Save yourself the trouble spend a little more and buy Maui Jim’s. I have had drug store glasses last longer than Costas.

BEWARE!! Sunglasses are now cheaply made and they do not stand behind there products. I own three pair of there sunglasses and have been loyal customers for over seven years. I sent in a pair of my glass lens sunglasses for what they made it seem like a repair. The rubber nose piece and the rubbed ear protectors on the arm all came off. I sent them back in the original box I got them in and they sent me a bill of more than what it would cost to buy a new pair. They also destroy the pair you send in. My lenses were perfectly fine. There products are JUNK! Since they have be bought by corporate the service and product are garbage. BUYER BEWARE.
There are several better brands with better quality and customer service.

Trying to order glasses for 5 days now. Their site has an internal issue, they said it was our bank- called the bank- the payment hasn't been requested. Called them back and was told by a new person, "Oh yes, we are aware of this problem in our system, just keep trying." Somewhat frustrating trying to make a purchase and they can't/won't help when calling in.
Glasses are great- online ordering not so much.

I purchased a pair of Costa prescription sunglasses about 2 months ago, and the frame broke simply while putting them on — during completely normal use, with no abuse, no impact, and no chemical exposure.
I filed a warranty claim with Costa (Luxottica) providing photos and details. They denied the warranty, stating the issue was not due to a defect. When I contacted their chat representative to challenge this, I was advised to file a second claim. I followed that advice and re-submitted the claim, only to be denied again with the same reasoning, and offered a 50% discount code instead of a proper repair or replacement.
These are prescription sunglasses with custom lenses that cost extra, and I only requested a replacement frame (my optometrist can transfer the RX lenses). It is extremely disappointing to see Costa refuse to stand behind their product, especially given how quickly and unexpectedly the failure occurred after such a short period.
I tried to resolve this through their customer service and even reached out to their social contacts without success.
Before I file complaints with the BBB and consumer protection agencies, I am posting here in hopes Costa will do the right thing and honor their warranty as published.

Bought the Rincon 2 two weeks ago and accidentally cracked the lense. I emailed Costa with full intention of paying for a replacement lens since it was my fault. The email I got back (on a brand new, still manufactured model) was “ We don’t have parts available”. I don’t know how you couldn’t have replacement lenses when they are in production right now! Instead they offered 50 % off on a new pair of sunglasses. They don’t want to deal with fixing a pair they just want you to buy another. I wouldn’t call that a leading repair service like they claim.

I purchased sunglasses roughly a year ago. The frames on one pair seem to have worn themselves out and no longer fit my face. The other pair had a couple minor scratches on the lens. I sent Costa an email asking if there was a repair kit that I could purchase to get these glasses looking and fitting like they did when I first receive them. This is where I realized I should never have purchased sunglasses from this company, they will do everything in their power to refuse to help, even though they agreed that these were warranty replacement items they needed proof of purchase however, the confirmation number that is received via email after online orders was not good enough they wanted a physical receipt from a store which I could not provide since I ordered these sunglasses through Costa website. I provided many other different types of proof of purchase going as far as calling a different department within Costa to generate a different type of receipt to submit to a different department within Costa (using the confirmation number). And this still yet was not sufficient. They also needed many different pictures and descriptions provided both through email from two different email addresses one not being from Costa and also updating the service ticket through their website in the same way. All of this took about six weeks before they sent me an email with a shipping label, which also took multiple tries to receive Once then I was allowed to purchase my own box and purchase my own shipping material to send these glasses back for them to play with and I say play because they’ve had them now for four weeks and won’t tell me what progress has been made what date to expect my sunglasses to be returned and why don’t I have a new pair? It’s the summertime and I am now currently without sunglasses because Costa is refusing to communicate or work on my warranty. After now a total of 10 weeks. I received an email from them still very unsure as to what they Need to do to repair my sunglasses which gives me complete uncertainty to their competency and ability to sell manufacture and repair sunglasses.
Please never buy from this company!

I placed an online order for prescription sunglasses. the order was promptly canceled due my prescription level. After 2 phone calls with Costa and, conflicting information from both representatives, I was informed that I could get the correct glasses and prescription if went to a Lens Crafters store location. The rep also informed me that the discount voucher Costa gave me would be redeemable at Lens Crafters. (NOT TRUE). While at Lens Crafters I called Costa yet again and was given conflicting information again. The customer service rep was rude and continued to talk over me telling me that I was not listing and eventually muted the call never to return to the line.
I will NEVER purchase another Costa product!!

Why would anyone buy Costas?? They're not the product they used to be. The quality, the warranty and the customer service have gone straight down hill. The frames routinely delaminate, They have this rubber on the nose and temples that falls off after a short time. If you have a pair, you know what I'm talking about. They used to have a great lifetime warranty that covered this, but NO MORE! Read the reviews and you'll see their poor quality, non existent warranty and poor customer service are very common themes.
So now you spend nearly $300 on a pair of sunglasses that become a paperweight after a year? Don't throw your money away! You'll see the same slimy corporate reply from Costa on all these reviews asking for a receipt. Who keeps a receipt for years. Most of us bought our Costas because of the great lifetime warranty, NO RECEIPT NEEDED!
Smiths still have a good warranty. That'll be my next pair of glasses.

Have had four pair of Costas over the last 10 years and all have had broken temples in three years or less and I do not abuse my sunglasses. Costa used to have a lifetime warranty and now it is a limited two year warranty, which is worthless for a $300 pair of glasses. Not worth the money when their product falls apart in less than three years, especially since I have always gotten the glass lens options.

TWO SETS OF the rubber on the arms on my Corbinas have just fallen off. REALLY! Not after years- After months and the next pair was less than 6 weeks. Just really a piece of crap. Tying on an elastic band to the lenses to wear as goggles now. Will be sure to glue that C on so everyone can see how well Costas have done over the
years.

I’ve had at least 10 pairs of Costa’s over last decade. I’ve had 3 of them break from normal use. The last pair (fantail pros) were bought 9 months ago and were given to me as a gift. The frame above the lens broke a few days ago, and now Costa is refusing to honor the warranty and send a replacement. This will be the last pair of overpriced P.O.S. glasses from Costa I will own, and I encourage anyone to avoid buying anything from them. For what their glasses cost I would expect a high quality product, but sadly that is not the case! It seems their customer support is as low quality as their products are. They also cowardly do not offer up their phone number so you can’t call and talk to a human about issues with the subpar products they peddle to the public.

Screw you Costa! I have a pair of sunglasses for just over a year, that cost nearly $400. I go to put them on, and the frame is cracked. They had not been dropped or crushed in any way. You deny the claim, and want to charge me $150 to fix them. No way! You've lost me for life. Buyer beware!

Spend all this money for sunglasses and can clearly tell the frames broke from being weak and you all won’t cover them under warranty

Issues started with my first attempt at
Ordering. Had a full receipt, and a set delivery date they’d arrived at a Sunglass
Hut for in store pick-up. Go in day after delivery date. Not there. Waited a week and went back. No record of my order. Called costa. Nightmare process, said they never created my order. Had to start all over. Meanwhile it has been 4 weeks since my order. Just got the sunglasses and don’t love them. They are very heavy. Heavier than any other pair I own(weighed them on digital baking scale). I know they’ll sleep off my face when I sweat. I don’t feel like the measurements are accurate compared to my other glasses and the measurements that company has on their site. Wish I read more of these reviews before spending the $400.

I bought my sunglasses from coasta because I liked the way they looked and that they have a lifetime warranty. Now that they no longer offer lifetime warranty what's the point in spending alot of money with no support for them even though they don't cost that much to make. I wouldn't waste my money on these sunglasses again.

Costa has gone down hill horribly in recent years. They used to be known for great products and good warranty. I now have 3 pairs of glasses where the rubber and nose piece have warn away. I finally got annoyed enough to reach out to their warranty department for the youngest pair (well within warranty) and sent in pictures. I received an email from a "supportus@..." address stating that the rubber and plastics are not covered and instead they would give me a discount on making another purchase. I attempted to respond, but the email bounces saying undeliverable. I searched their website - no other addresses. I reached out via the "contact us" link on their website and was able to chat with someone who really didn't have a clue and gave me the same address. They clearly don't have Cust Svc any more and don't stand by their products.
Update: Costa read this review and asked for me to email them - address provided bounced back as undeliverable again. Yup... review still stands even more than before.

Denied warranty right out of the box. Costa never even looked at them. Out of warranty? There’s a 2-year warranty! Out of business is more like it. Oakley, Smith, and Zeal are all great brands that actually stand behind their product. Since getting bought out, it looks like Costa has turned into a scummy corporation.
