CodeCanyon helps authors scam users.

It turns out I’m not the only one whose account was banned by CodeCanyon after leaving a negative review. They’re clearly helping the authors scam people — they’re in it together.

I found the *AdStack* script on CodeCanyon and requested a custom version. I was scammed out of \$700. They intentionally avoided using PayPal, and because I trusted CodeCanyon, I paid with my credit card. But when I left a review explaining how I was scammed, CodeCanyon’s support team immediately banned my account and deleted my negative review.

I provided all the evidence and asked CodeCanyon to take action against the AdStack team, but instead, they sided with the authors, banned my account, and even told me I’m not allowed to use another account to leave a negative review. What a terrible and dishonest platform.

It feels like they don’t properly test what they upload , and sell. If you know what you’re doing, it might still be worth it — but don’t expect everything to work perfectly out of the box.

Disappointed – Honest Review Removed Without Just Cause

I left a 1-star review for a script I purchased on CodeCanyon due to extremely poor documentation and lack of support. Instead of addressing the issue, my review was removed. This feels like censorship and raises serious concerns about the integrity of their rating system.

Buyers deserve to see honest feedback, not just 5-star praise. If negative reviews get taken down for pointing out valid shortcomings, how can we trust any of the ratings on the platform?

I’ve been a loyal Envato customer for years, but this experience has seriously shaken my confidence.

It's a gamble

When using this site to buy the script, you must understand that you will never get your money back.

You do everything at your own risk; it is essential to read the reviews and test it before it becomes a well-observed risk.

It's a gamble. I use them frequently, and I know that once a script fails, I must find a good one. The best thing is to avoid Parkis & Indies; they are only after your money. That's my experience. Consider Euro's with good reviews.

CodeCanyon helped the author scam me out of $2000.

Please never buy any scripts from CodeCanyon. I purchased a script there, but it had numerous bugs and backdoors. Afterward, the author prompted me to customize the script and pay on their own website, where I was scammed out of $2,000. When I left a negative review for the author on CodeCanyon, they directly deleted my review and banned my account. This trash website has probably scammed countless people.

Code Canyon Sells Non-Compliant Plugins

I contacted Code Canyon Support to report a plugin that has not been updated for almost two years and is not compatible with the latest version of WordPress. I also mentioned the plugin author is not providing support for paying customers either. This condition has set back our business.

Their response? They brushed me off. They did not show any interest in contacting the plugin developer for a resolution -- including temporary removal of the plugin until it's updated.

My recommendation: STAY AWAY FROM CODE CANYON. CODE CANYON IS IN CAHOOTS WITH PLUGIN DEVELOPERS.

Purchase your plugin from other sources or directly from the developer. If the developer sends you to Code Canyon, look for another suitable plugin. Also, before you purchase any plugin, ask the developer to provide you with their latest changelog and links to their plugin's social media website(s). These two items will confirm if the plugin is active and updated regularly to address bugs, compatibility with WordPress and PHP, and other issues.

🛑 Beware of Fraud on Codecanyon.net

🛑 Beware of Fraud on Codecanyon.net! 🛑

Recently, I purchased a plugin from Codecanyon.net with Item ID: 11453104, paying a total of $42 USD including charges. Unfortunately, just a few days after the purchase, my account was disabled without any notice or explanation.

I tried contacting their support multiple times, but I never received a response. I didn’t even log into the account after purchasing — I didn’t violate any rules. Then why disable my account? Isn’t this a form of digital fraud — taking payment and then disabling the account?!

This isn't a one-time incident! One of my buyers faced the same issue a year ago. He purchased a source code for $62 USD, and shortly after, his account was also disabled.

📢 Through this post, I want to raise awareness:
👉 Be cautious before purchasing from Codecanyon.net.
👉 Think twice before spending your money.
👉 Never pay through unsecured platforms.
👉 Don’t let anyone steal your hard-earned money in this way!

➡️ Please share this post so others don’t fall victim to the same issue.

When the purchase code did not work for a Plugin

When the purchase code did not work, I contacted support for help I even gave them access to my website so they can see that the purchase code does not work they kept insisting I contact the author for better assistance, but the author did not get back to me. I filed a Charge-back dispute with my credit card issuer and was able to get my money back plus the seller was hit with a penalty fee. I tried this code for 5 months on 30 websites it just did not work. I'm so glad banks give you up to a year to file a dispute.
Now they are asking me to make a Video of me trying the purchase code, what a joke...

SCAM PAGE DO NOT BUY (I WILL FILE A GROUP LAWSUIT)

To start, I want to say that I'm going to start a class-action lawsuit, and I want everyone who has been scammed by CodeCanyon to join. Send an email to theroyalfunding(@)outlook.com. I have a law firm in the United States, and these people will pay for the scams they commit. Send me information about how you were scammed, illegally rejected refunds, account freezes, and lost purchases—as much information as possible so we can provide as much evidence as possible. The impunity for these crimes is over. I was scammed out of over $2,000 and I've seen many more people being scammed with larger amounts. Let's all unite and make them pay for their scams.

AVOID THIS WEBSITE codecanyon.com

AVOID THIS WEBSITE. They are all scammers. I bought a product from them which was requiring a main product. But when i was looking to the preview was showing all ok. Since this is useless for me without the main product i was asking for a refund. They told me to spend another 80€ for the main product. I asked paypal to step in and automatically this scammer website codecanyon.com with the main scammer website envato.com blocked my account. And no refund just an email that because i asked the money back my account is locked.

Avoid Buying from codecanyon.net "Envato"

I strongly advise against purchasing any product from Envato's website. Their customer service is poor, and they do not respect buyers as they do sellers. Many products are sold by Indian sellers who provide low quality products. If you request a refund, it is often denied without proper investigation from Envato's customer support they simply side with the seller.

If you open a dispute through PayPal, Envato will block your account, preventing you from accessing previous purchases. Even if PayPal rules in your favor and refunds your money, your Envato account will remain blocked, and you will lose access to all your previously bought products.

If you see a product on the Envato store, I strongly recommend checking if the developer sells it on their official website. Purchase it there instead. If the product is only available on Envato, consider looking for an alternative, or you risk losing your money with no chance of a refund.

Save yourself the frustration avoid buying from Envato and CodeCanyon.

Be careful

Be careful, they will present the mistakes and bugs made by the authors as your fault, initiate a violation and your account will be suspended. And hold on tight, all your purchases are wasted

Fraud Codecanyon

Hello. They've blocked my profile, where I've spent close to $4,000 so far. my account was blocked directly because I forgot to increase the limit of my debit card when paying $20. No matter how much I complained, they didn't open it back.

I agree with Chris Williams BUT......

I agree with Chris Williams comment below but in the same breath I have experienced the very BAD and I am a coder!

CodeCanyon puts the power of the comments section in the hands of the author! I submitted a complaint regarding a NOT working install, and the author replied via a non-reply email saying go to the comments section to update.

However, my comment had disappeared so I could not reply! I believe this was a scam feasibly by the author himself removing my comment? I further looked at the supplied code and found many mistakes in the base code itself, sometimes all we need to do is install something and get it working immediately this was not the case here even although the install instructions followed to the letter and subsequently more wasted time ensued, most annoying my comment being removed?

i have Purchased with them 13 items

i have Purchased with them 13 items, and all are not working now. All my customers' websites are down. I requested a dispute only for 2 items, but they sent an email saying that I have to cancel the dispute with PayPal for access to my account, and now they have locked my account.

If i could give 0 stars i would

they're a scam website. misleading scripts with intent to deceive buyers, and when you buy its only then you find out all the extras you have to buy for simple feature that should be included anyway. when i requested a refund from them they made it clear that its down to the author to agree to that. so i disputed the claim with paypal when i read up CC's reviews and found they dont issue refunds. since i opened the case i got emailed by envato telling me to close my claims or my account stays locked, and ive bought from them before which will be unusable to me if i keep the claims. if i did did close the claim i have no buyer protection and with them known to not issue refunds thatll leave me in a bad situation. stay away from this company avoid if you can. sady its a case of trustpilot manipulation with 1.5/5 the only legit reviews are the bad. the good are bots.

Update
They still haven't replied to my PayPal disputes due by December 17th. They are scum.

Final update
PayPal closed the cases in my favour and refunded me. They never did reply.
