CleanTalk really help us to block a lot of spam mails.Before installing this plugin, you can never imagine the helplessness of having your mailbox stuffed with tons of spam. Luckily we found a way to stop the spam.CleanTalk always works well. I always trust it.

I purchased CleanTalk’s "Site Security" package during a promotional offer that clearly included malware protection, firewall, brute-force protection, and spam blocking. What I got was a complete mess. Their plugins are disconnected, their licensing system is confusing, and worst of all—they make it nearly impossible to activate the services you paid for.

I spent over eight hours in one day uninstalling and reinstalling plugins, entering the correct access key, and trying to get basic features like two-factor authentication (2FA) to work—features they claimed were included. Instead, I was blocked, locked out, and told to check with my hosting provider as if it were my problem.

The Anti-Spam plugin never activated, even though it appeared functional. Their site shows no record of it, even after purchase and install. When I contacted support, I got vague replies, technical deflection, and zero accountability. They pass you off instead of fixing the issue, and even after multiple emails—including proof of payment—they still didn’t resolve it.

Their product is unstable. Their customer support is ineffective. And their system is designed in a way that actively works against the people trying to use it.

Save your money. Save your time. Find a provider that actually knows how to run a secure, user-friendly platform.

Your response is appreciated, but it completely misses the core issue.

I purchased your security package based on the features you advertised—two-factor authentication, malware protection, brute-force blocking, and firewall security. What I received was a broken, misleading system that wasted my time and left my site exposed.

Here’s the truth:
The two-factor authentication feature wasn’t just broken—it wasn’t even active.
It had not been released yet. That’s why I couldn’t turn it on. Your own tech support didn’t even know this. I was repeatedly told to “just check the box,” wasting hours trying to activate a feature that simply didn’t exist. That is a textbook example of false advertising.

Eventually, one support rep discovered that I had two accounts in your system. I’ll give credit for that. But let’s be clear: that did not solve the real problem.
Even after fixing the account issue, the product still did not work as advertised.

Misleading functionality:
Malware scans claimed to pass without scanning a single file.
Brute-force protection claimed to block attacks that were still hitting my site.
Legitimate services like GoDaddy uptime monitoring were being blocked while foreign IPs were being auto-whitelisted.
The user interface showed green lights and success messages—but behind the scenes, nothing meaningful was happening.
This isn’t a setup issue. It’s a product design issue.
The features you advertise are either not functional, not released, or hidden behind paywalls.

I’ve moved on to a provider that actually protects websites.

I strongly encourage other users to double-check their settings and scan logs—don’t assume you’re protected just because the dashboard says you are.

Cleantalk appears to work well on catching comment spam on Wordpress sites, but It doesn't appear to catch, stop or prevent any spam that is posted within the wpForo Wordpress Forum Plugin.
So for that reason, I'd say avoid Cleantalk if you use WPForo on your website.
If you don't use wpForo, then this AntiSpam Plugin works great.

Before utilizing CleanTalk, our website was way more of a task than it should be. The deciding factor was a week's vacation. While on vacation, our website would receive 200-400 spam form entries from our website's Contact Us form. As our web admin, I would have to go to our website dashboard and manually delete all the nonsense. CleanTalk takes care of that now and my vacation time is my vacation time. Excellent fix for minimalizing spam entries.
