Chase were great at start when good…

Chase were great at start when good interest rate to entice you in but gradually went to basic rate, I personally found better rates elsewhere, good bank but it’s your money that’s being used to their advantage, better returns on investments would help keep customers.

Not great

Chase tend to reel you in with good offers then gradually drop it down , and despite having a substantial amount in my savings account I was refused a credit card

No customer service

I joined because of an offer of 1% cashback on DC transactions for 12 months.
I've never been able to take advantage of this because the app doesn't work on android go (all other banking apps do!).
Whenever, I've seeked help they ALWAYS ignore it and refer me to the.....(you've guessed it)..... the app for support!
You don't get a 3.8% score without working at it and Chase well deserve it. I'm surprised it's not lower!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Excellent Banking Experience with Chase
I've been banking with Chase for a while now, and I can confidently say it's been a consistently positive experience. Their mobile app is intuitive and packed with features that make managing my finances incredibly convenient—from mobile check deposits to real-time transaction alerts and easy transfers between accounts.
Customer service has always been responsive and helpful, whether I’ve called in with a question. I also appreciate the wide network of ATMs and branches, which makes accessing my money hassle-free wherever I am.
Chase offers a great range of account options and credit cards with competitive rewards and benefits. I especially like how they provide clear insights into spending and budgeting through their app, which helps me stay on top of my financial goals.
Overall, Chase combines modern banking technology with reliable customer support, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable and user-friendly banking experience.

I'm quitting Chase after what was a promising start. They have gradually eroded the benefits they gave to entice everyone in, but the final straw was being turned down for their new credit card whist having an impeccable credit score and a very good six figure income.
They have dropped the ball as far as I'm concerned.

Spotlight on … spent so far this month

I generally like Chase but I have issues with the Spotlight section of the app. This categorises expenditure types and calculates the total you have spent for each category.

I have fed back areas of improvement with regard to this over an extended period and as yet, no changes have been made. I recently discovered that the amounts showing for spending categories DO NOT ADD UP! It is also analysing expenditure relating to one month in the following (the wrong) month. This has also been fed back to Chase. It does not inspire confidence, when a bank displays information on its app, that does not add up.

Given past experience, I am not expecting this to be rectified any time soon.

Direct Debit Guarantee - No we don't want to do that!

I’ve used my Chase account as my main current account for the past four years. While it’s generally been fine, there’s always been the aggravation of trying to move more than a few hundred pounds to a new payee, even when transferring to myself. That said, I stayed with them.

But things have steadily declined. The offers that made Chase attractive at the start have slowly disappeared. That’s not surprising as most banks eventually follow the same downward path. But Chase is exceptional... for all the wrong reasons.

They do not honour the Direct Debit Guarantee, specifically the bit that that clearly states:

"If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by the organisation or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society."

In my case, a Direct Debit was taken in error, and Chase refused to refund it. So beware, if something goes wrong, the DD Guarantee isn't worth the paper it's written on.

I’ve raised a formal complaint but that apparently takes up to 10 days for them to even look at. Suggests to me they’re dealing with a backlog of unhappy customers.

I’ll be involving the Financial Ombudsman, because this two-bit US bank doesn’t seem to understand or care about UK banking standards and consumer protection.

The good news is I’ve already opened an account with a new digital competitor. In 15 minutes I had full access, linked to Google Wallet, savings accounts opened and a physical debit card on the way. It took longer (30 minutes) to move my money out of Chase, but it’s done.

Goodbye Chase!

P.S. My husband’s closing his account too. Two customers lost in one day. Well done.

Beware !!

When everything works .............it's fine. If you ever have to contact customer service.........it is an absolute nightmare ! The call centre seems to be located on the moon - it is incredibly difficult to understand what is said, the lines are noisy and there is a delay of several seconds before you get a response. Added to this, it appears that the Chase staff are using a different App to me. When being talked through a procedure the results that come up on my (Android) App are totally different to what I am told I will see. I have uninstalled the App, re-installed it, stopped it, started it, restarted the phone (as instructed) and it still is the same. On one occasion I was trying to transfer money to another bank when I was told that I had to "verify" the transaction ...........after 20 wasted minutes on the phone, trying to do this, I eventually asked to abandon the transfer and to just refund the money to my account..............I was then told that I had to "verify" myself to get MY money returned to MY account !!!! When I asked to speak to a manager I was told that this would take 24 - 48 hrs.
I am going to close this account - but am frightened as to what will happen when I try to move my money.
I have noticed there are a lot more one star reviews than there used to be and most of the Chase responses are the same standard meaningless waffle. One reviewer complained about the repeated use of one particular phrase............guess what the reply from Chase was ? ............no prizes offered !

Chase bank are the pits

I was on the phone to chase again as they wanted me to phone them at 15:09 to tell the person at chase about my situation after about five minutes the line went dead, no phone back nothing, I have had it with chase bank they are not interested in my complaint, I just want my card to work instead of not working, what would have happened if I had been abroad and could not get money, as it is I had to borrow money from my family to feed myself

Update 2

Contacted customer service again after three weeks of nothing, only for them to tell me a final decision letter has been sent, and is in my documents section, the letter they referenced was issued in September 2024, the complaint was raised in early June 2025, can't even tell what complaint is what, customer service is absolutely appalling, I'm issuing a complaint to the FCA as there's no way your institution is operating to a legal standard within the UK, Joke bank

Worst bank if you've been fraud victim

I was notified that there was potential compromise of my chase digital card. Despite the information in the notification stating a merchant I used had been compromised,
Chase tried to insinuate it was my fault and I must have let someone know my security details, left my phone for someone to access and even suggested a family member used my phone and made a purchase from my account without permission!

I was then left to do the legwork to contact a merchant to provide proof I hadn't made the transaction.
You are passed from one person to the next to repeatedly go over the same things and each one provides incorrect or contradicting information than the previous person.
It's certainly not an empathetic customer experience and you're left yo do the hard work to prove it wasn't you're fault despite the initial report saying it was the merchants issue in the first place.
