Carvana’s Deceptive Practices and Incompetence Wasted My Time and Money
My experience with Carvana was an absolute disaster, marked by broken promises, shady practices, and outright incompetence. I placed an order for a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe listed at $14,000, only to be blindsided by a loan that, after interest, ballooned to over $40,000. Yes, you read that right—$40,000 for a decade-old used car! Desperate for a vehicle and trusting Carvana’s “reputable” brand, I reluctantly accepted this outrageous deal, assuming it was the best I could get. Big mistake.I scheduled delivery for a Saturday, even taking a day off work to accommodate their timeline. That morning, I called to confirm, and they assured me the car was on its way. Carvana had already run a hard credit pull, dinging my score, and charged me hundreds of dollars for a down payment. Everything seemed set—until 35 minutes before the delivery window, when they canceled. Their excuse? The car’s AC wasn’t working. Apparently, this critical failure was only caught by the third-party shipper, not Carvana’s so-called “rigorous 150-point inspection.” How does a car they advertise as thoroughly vetted slip through with a major mechanical issue? Disgraceful.To add insult to injury, Carvana still hasn’t refunded my down payment, leaving me out hundreds of dollars for a car I never received. Their customer service is a black hole—unresponsive and unhelpful. That same day, I visited a local dealership and walked away with a newer, bigger, lower-mileage vehicle for $12,000 after insurance—a fraction of Carvana’s predatory pricing. The contrast is embarrassing for Carvana.This company’s business model seems built on deceiving customers with inflated prices, shoddy vehicles, and empty promises. Save your time, money, and sanity—avoid Carvana at all costs.

Very good experience selling my car to Caravana
I had a very good experience selling my car to Carvana. Their offer was competitive, and they even offered me additional time to accept it. When the time came to drop off my car I had an emergency situation arise and had to reschedule my drop off. They gave me an additional week with no questions asked. I signed all documentation electronically and all I had to do was hand over the title to the vehicle, both keys and all original equipment that came with the car. After they inspected my vehicle, they handed me a check, and I was out of there in less than 20 minutes. The process was quick and efficient. All the people I dealt with were polite and helpful. I would use Carvana again in the future and would recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell a car.

They approved me before even making sure everything I sent was good and before the purchase was finalized they took my deposit from my card and then did not accept my bank statements and canceled my order and now I am fighting to get my refund back because that is my deposit to purchase a car and they are holding it. I will be reporting them just like the other person on here with the same issue. They are quick to take money and now they are taken along time to refund me. I will be reporting them. please don't give them any money until you are 100% and sale is finalized because you wont get your refund back for along time. I need a car and can not purchase one with out my deposit.

Absolutely disgraceful we bought a car from them and committed ourselves to a payment of $600 a month for what we believed was our dream car. The description of the car absolutely did not match the condition of the car as is notated in numerous lawsuits against them for improper and inaccurate, vehicle descriptions, and bad conditions we were treated to the same one when the delivery was first to be attempted we a half hour after the beginning of the delivery window to be that they could not deliver the car because the key fob was not functioning properly. It was stuck in valet mode and could not be taken out. We took a day off of work to be there for it and did not receive it the second delivery was then made six days later at which time the key fob still did not function properly we took it into a Mitsubishi dealership because they said the key fob was covered under the original manufacturers warranty, but they notated many issues with the car, including a broken fuse box housing that had snapped off of its mount and was dangling by a wire, which is unsafe if that wire brakes the car will die wherever it is if I’m on the highway and that happens, my car will literally stop running and I could be in a severe accident. The tires are bald and the car needs a wheel alignment. The fluids are supposed to be changed every 30,000 miles i.e. the transmission fluid it had never been changed and needed to be changed right away with which cost me $300 out of pocket when we attempted to alert Carvana to these issues, they told us to take it up with silver rock the warranty company who told us this stuff wasn’t covered because it’s basic maintenance even though Carvana claims to do a 150 point inspection that covers the tires the alignment and the fluid all of those things were found to be in poor in a poor state now as my wife has communicated with them they basically told us too bad. There’s nothing they can do because we’re on the 30 day or 1000 mile limit. This is an absolute disgrace if you were reading this do not do business with Carvana and Carvana should know we definitely do intend to seek an attorney to remedy this situation. Thanks for nothing. We will never do business with you again.
