Subterfuge & Deception

The resort is good one, but the management indulges in a bit of deception & subterfuge.
Being a Canadian company, with the resort also in located within Canada, they display the tariff in US Dollars, and fail to mention so as USD, instead just displaying the dollar symbol against the tariff. And so, unsuspecting customers are not aware that they are paying in USD., as were we, when our card was pre-charged in USD along with a surcharge for exchange to CAD.
We approached the management, and mentioned this, and requested for a reconciliation of the amount, or else to have the reservation cancelled. Instead of giving a polite reply explaining their stance, we were served a stern warning that no refund of the excess amount would be reimbursed, and further more if we don’t show up for the reservation, our card would be charged regardless.
The Management is not customer friendly, and neither do they observe the principles of fairness. Would advise caution while dealing with this company.
Thank you.
