Got a very old truck. (62 years old that is) Which has been hauled before by other companys. This huge company won't tow cause it's not insured at the moment... just pathetic... company is a scam. Even if you pay the yearly membership. Many companies do... not this usless one.. Don't waste a dime and fine your local guy.. you'll have better connection as well as better deals and faster service even if you're stuck.. avoid CCA billion dollar scam...crap service as well as a usless company. Save your money and avoid at all costs...

This service is a joke
This service is a joke. Request a service call to get a tire changed. A dispatcher calls and says 25 minutes more. 2 hours later they have no record of the call and no time for someone to come.

Today
Today, Feb 18, 2025 is yet another frigid day in Winnipeg.
I didn’t have my car plugged in, (my bad), so it didn’t start when I needed it this morning.
I rejoined CAA about 3pm, was advised it was unlikely I would get someone today, however within 20 minutes a driver, Louis was here and got it running.
What a great response time. Speaking to Jeff and jack on the phone prior was a positive experience as well.
Yay CAA, thank you, thank you all

AAA in U.S. of No Help
We have taken our RV down to south Texas for the last 6 years and never had any trouble. This last trip we did have axel trouble with our RV on 3 separate occasions. AAA was of no assistance and unavailable for help. Local law enforcement were very helpful. On one occasion a local garage did a temporary fix, and escorted us to town as we "limped" into the garage. Because we were not "towed" the cost to get escorted to town was not reimbursable by CAA. Makes one wonder if membership is worth it??

Waited 6 Hrs For a Tow-Horrendous Service
I had my starter fail on my car, so I was told by my dealership that a CAA Tow Truck would be at my car in 60 mins. I thought Wow! Perfect, they are usually horrible to deal with. I actually asked my dealership to find me anyone but CAA, but they said that is who they sent. So Wow! 60 mins. So I got there in 30 mins due to it breaking down the night before. So I get to my car and wait, and wait, and wait, with no response from CAA, so I call them going into my 3rd hour of waiting and hearing nothing from them. So the guy says oh it is because of the cold is the reason why they are taking so long. It is only -20 C in Winnipeg, with no wind, no snow. This is a normal day in January in Winnipeg. There is no terrible weather here or emergency due to bad weather. It gets a lot colder here, like -50 C, -20 C isn't even toque weather here. So he says, they will arrive in 60 mins or less because he had 2 people ahead of me. So I wait, another 3 hrs before he finally shows up. My initial call with the tow truck driver was you better be there or I am leaving. I said, I am here and have been now for 6 hrs waiting on you, I'm not going anywhere, just get here as soon as you can. They used Apex Towing. The customer service and experience of using CAA was once again the worst of the worst, although they did actually show up this time, unlike the last time I was forced to use them 12 years ago and they never bothered showing up so I hired out of pocket another company who had nothing good to say about CAA either. There is a very good reason why I have never and will never, ever buy a CAA membership. They are just God freaking awful. Avoid at all costs, unless you like waiting 6+ hrs and wasting a day.

Called CAA at 9:24 am for a boost
Called CAA at 9:24 am for a boost, arrived within several minutes. Driver unable to boost battery, a call was sent at 9:45 AM for a tow. Checked app for estimated time of tow truck arrival 7:55 PM. Called CAA thinking it was an error was informed diver was busy with other calls.
CAA use to be about the driver, now it’s about CAA saving money.

Delmar was incredibly professional in spite of the AI system that CAA utilizes in road side service calls
Contacted CAA Road Side service yesterday. I called the toll free line to no avail as it immediately transfers one to an AI answering device. CAA’s AI system really needs work as the process took 1 1/2 hours to process.
Now here’s the great part of the review as the five stars belong to the driver Delmar who was absolutely outstanding. Delmar was friendly, professional and understands customer service. CAA is very fortunate to have Delmar as an employee.

Bad experience with CAA this morning
Bad experience with CAA this morning, despite my subscription.
This is a crap amd scam service of no value and respect for the customer.
I was told to stay with the car in the cold to get assistance after all proof of ownership and membership.
Extra cost demanded by the driver in a very rude way.

Driver Devi was most outstanding.
Hello, I requested a caa service today January 18/2024. The service was exceptional as they were here at least 30 minutes after I had called. I needed a tire change and the driver who showed up was a gentleman by the name of Devi. He was professional and courteous and did an outstanding job on my vehicle. Thank you CAA for the great service.

We phoned to have car towed at 8:30 pm. Still waiting for a tow the next day. Every time we phoned we got a different response. They told to get it towed faster leave key on seat. We did it. It did not help the with the tow time. There has been extreme weather conditions. We live in Manitoba. Is caa worth having. At this time I am thinking not.

CAA commited fraud, gets caught & offers no compensation
RE ORDER 275234444
The 25 ft extension cord on the CAA website is not 12/3 wire but 16/3 wire. When I reported this fraud CAA did correct their listing on Jan 5 but only offered me a RMA # . If and when CAA receives the returned item and "processes" it, only then I might get my money back! No compensation was offered; a thin 16/3 extension cord should be priced considerable less than than a 12/3 extension cord! I now am forced to travel 3 hours to get a 12/3 extension cord that I want. How many other innocent customers have been unknowingly scammed by CAA?
PLEASE NOTE:
COSTCO in Winnipeg is selling the following for $67 :
($79.99 with delivery)
(item 1734187 Model CCNSAD8302) which includes:
two, UL certified, 50 foot long, 12/3 , rated -40˚C to 60˚C / -40˚F to 140˚F extension cords with power indicator lights and a
12/3, 2 foot Triple Tap Extension
Also, CAA did in fact refund us our money once they received the returned item. No apologies, No compensation

When I call for roadside assistance…
When I call for roadside assistance last night at 730 I was told to call back during the day. Which I thought was OK but they should have batteries in stock if they sell them. So I call back today and they tell me they can't change the battery roadside. I have tried the website and the app there were errors and i needed to call in.

I had just returned from a vacation to a dead battery in my car. I called CAA and service was very prompt. A shootout to Jamie as he was so friendly and efficient. I needed to replace the battery and he had it done in no time! So glad I had taken out a membership recently and will continue to do so. Thanks CAA and Jamie!

Brutal most of the time
I’ve had a couple ok experiences with CAA, but several that were absolutely terrible and outweigh the good. If you’re at home in the city and need help with your battery or something, great. If you’re on the highway in the winter needing help, good luck. Hopefully your phone has a full charge, because you’ll need to listen to minutes of automated garbage before talking to someone who may or may not be helpful, and then be prepared to wait hours and hours no matter where you are. Whatever estimate they give you, I would at least triple it for a more accurate estimate. That is if you can even make it to the point of explaining where you are and having them understand. They need to step it up big time for emergency road service. There has been at least once where if they were the only option, and someone else hadn’t helped, I could have frozen to death. I’m currently waiting for a driver to be dispatched and it’s been over an hour since their estimated arrival time. They anticipate another hour and a half. I’m probably about 20 minutes from the city. I don’t know if this review will do anything, but seriously, what the hell?

CAA Empress has to have the stupidest…
CAA Empress has to have the stupidest people working there. I buy travel insurance online. After purchase and receiving the email, it didn't appear to reflect everything I purchased. They are so stupid saying I need to wait 3 days to for someone to call me back as they are not all trained in insurance. Then they said had I purchased my trip with them, they could immediately put me through to someone to explain my insurance. I said why can't an agent still explain it to me. Not booking my trip with them has zero relevance to explaining travel insurance. They keep telling me to wait for a call back that never comes. Funny when you want to purchase something from CAA experts are always waiting. After you pay for something, don't expect an explanation or time to answer any questions. The stupid lady says well maybe call ORION INSURANCE. I asked her if they can answer my question. She replies I don't know. I said so your company sells stuff that nobody can explain. You recommended calling ORION directly but you are unsure if they can answer my question. Anywho I called ORION INSURANCE directly. In a split second the guy answered all my policy questions. Even extra. He himself was shocked because ORION INSURANCE is who provides the insurance CAA sells and was shocked to hear that not one person was available nor could explain a travel plan that is sold on ORION INSURANCE behalf. My advice make sure you understand what you are purchasing through CAA because they do have the best packages. If needing any additional input or understanding to what you purchased...call ORION INSURANCE direct. CAA Empress the idiot that answers the phone like an automated machine does to just keep repeating nobody here currently is trained to deal with your matter and someone that won't really phone you will call you back. I advised her that maybe CAA can start training all their travel staff in understanding what they sell as well as training in professionalism. CAA is absolute morons. ORION INSURANCE who is the insurance provider absolutely knocked it out of the park.

Crawford gave a fantastic service and the best battery replacement in town
CAA came out to replace our battery after our Honda battery simply conked out. Crawford is the name of the man they sent out and he is simply exceptional. An old school manitobin very polite and professional and did a great job very quickly as it was very complicated to put a new battery in a Honda. He tested our system made sure the alternator was working check the battery checked all electrical workings and found indeed it was the battery. Quick, friendly and fast and just as good as taking it to the dealer. The best part is the battery was 10 bucks cheaper than Honda but gave five more years of warranty! Because of how wonderfully Crawford treated us we are definitely going to renew our CAA membership. Give Crawford a big pay raise!
