Excellent Speedy help

I've lived at Boardwalk, Soutgate Tower for nearly a year. When we had a plumbing issue on the weekend I called emergency services. A bright, cheery lady assured me I was no bother and they'd be here to fix it right away. Within 10 minutes Mike came to my door. He is very professional, friendly and extremely competent. My issue was resolved beautifully. Thanks Mike and Thank to the lady who took my call.
One of the main reasons we love it here is your warm, wonderful staff.

Excellent cleaning crew

Alma is one of the fine employees who works diligently to keep Boardwalk properties clean. If employees like this are representatives of the company, Boardwalk is outstanding.

My experience at Hillcrest Heights …

My experience at Hillcrest Heights apartments in Grand Prairie was an absolute nightmare. From the start, I was greeted with issues: the unbearable noise from passing trains and rats making my stay impossible. The management office at Boardwalk showed complete indifference to my problems, offering only poisonous traps instead of addressing the rodent issue properly. Repairs were done carelessly, sockets didn't work for months, and the thermostat caused serious health problems for several days. Moreover, without my consent, my apartment was accessed at least four times while I was out of town, violating my privacy. All this despite me having to pay for terminating the lease! During my absence, the company even found a new tenant without notifying me. My living experience here was absolutely horrendous, and I strongly advise avoiding this company to prevent similar issues and humiliations.

Leasing office staff at Boardwalk Morningside are mistreating tenants

If you are planning to move to Boardwalk, I strongly advise against choosing “Morningside Edmonton, AB”. The leasing office staff are mistreating tenants and lying on their reports. I experienced this firsthand today. After living here for nine years, ALWAYS paid my rent on time, been a good neighbour, and never received any complaints against me, I called the office to express a serious concern, but the agent could not provide a solution. I politely asked if she could escalate the matter to someone higher up, but she became upset, she yelled that she was too busy to keep talking to me and abruptly hung up the phone on me. I immediately called customer service to report the incident. As I was explaining what happened, the representative informed me that the leasing office had already filed a report regarding our conversation, she read it to me and, to my dismay, the agent at the leasing office had twisted my words and lied in her report, instead of finding a solution to my concerns. Now I feel threatened by the leasing office. I no longer feel safe living at Boardwalk Morningside☹

Do Not Rent From Ermineskin Place - Boardwalk Rental Communities

Very long story short - my apartment got very cold when the temperature started dropping. Edmonton gets very cold as anyone living there would know. Complained about it - got a request for a contractor to come in a month and a half later to see about fixing it. That would be middle/end of December!

Was going to bed with clothes on. The only resolution for me was to move out. -30deg is cold outside and I could see my breath inside. Their own policy says they can’t transfer apartments within 6 months of a new lease. Yes I asked to be transferred. I made arrangements to move apartments and then when I served my notice to quit my lease early, they were like ohh you can transfer now. Too late! I’ve already paid for another place!

When it came down to it, they didn’t care that I was cold as hell and losing constant sleep. All they did was shove my rental agreement in my face demanding money. It ended up costing me over $3K to get out of that lease.

If you are looking to rent from boardwalk just remember, these guys are asset management companies and they don’t give a s*** about you or your health and well being. They want your money. When you leave your apartment they will nickel and dime you to keep as much of your security deposit as they can. In fact they will try and cost you the most money they can squeeze from you and then some. You can try the RTDRS process but they got that all locked down too. It’s hard to win a battle going up against something that is already holding all the winning cards. Beware!

Multiple packages of mine have been…

Multiple packages of mine have been stolen from mail room before I can retrieve them. Building management has no access to CCTV to check security cameras for cause. Security within the building is compromised as this is an ongoing, reoccurring issue. Not improving overtime.

Unsafe community and fly infestations

We had lived at three different Bwalk communities over a 10 year period. In the last residence we rented, Lord Byron, Edmonton, Alberta, the first year was great. But, then the second year started.

My four young children were constantly harrassed, bullied and threatened large group of much older kids. Their "parents" would not want to take responsibility for their kids actions let alone correct their behaviours and would then harass and threaten/taunt me. These were all reported to Bwalk and Edmonton Police. Never was any corrective measures taken, and Bwalk management in fact wanted to accuse my young children of the bullying that occurred between them and much older children in much greater numbers.

We moved out as soon as we could as my children were experiencing anxiety, nervousness to be outside and nightmares from the occurrences. Because I am a fulltime single father of four and a student, combined with the circumstances, we left without doing much clean-up do to the entire situation. Bwalk, who did nothing to promote the "safe communities" they advertise about, feels it is just to charge us for the cleaning of the unit, even though we had to leave, leave quickly and all due to their lack of response to their abusive tenants behaviours. As well, here were flies from the sewers coming up from the drains in our unit and several others in the Bwalk community. We had to waste a lot of food because of this and Bwalk never really did take any PROPER measures to remedy the fly issue. Instead, they chose to blame us for the flies! WHY then do so many other units have the same flies????

All in all, with moving expenses, lost food and harrasing/threatening behaviour from THEIR tenanats that they refused to correct, it cost me a lot, especially as a student and single parent, to relocate to a home that actually offers a "safe community". Now I finally feel welcome and at home, and not because of Bwalk.

I would never rent from them again. I will continue to spread the word to all I can via mouth, social media and tv media. This issue will not be silenced this quickly.
