My last experience

I placed an order, and when I went to pick it up, they couldn't find it. I gave them their printout and was informed that they couldn't put the order in today.
Why have a system for pickup with in-house supplies, a customer with cash, and no one to do the work? The gal at the front desk could easily facilitate this.

Had a little miscommunication with the app not saying that the light I ordered was out of stock. Taylor on the customer support team was EXTREMELY helpful with getting my return/refund figured out since half of my order had already been delivered. Customer service like that shouldn’t go unnoticed. GREAT JOB TAYLOR!

“No-Sale-Sale”. “No-Promotion-Promotion"

A company like BRS really needs a review average of 4 stars or above, unless they are not concerned with reviews, at least reviews on YELP. They have lousy shipping and they have NON-STOP sales. Now I think sales are good, but sales that NEVER end, but just have different names, need to make you stop and think. My most recent frustration is that they just sent out a promotion code in an email (25% off with code BRS...2025). Then you find out they have a list under the heading "Some restrictions apply" kind of language, which is a list of 50 to 100 vendors that do not allow them to sell at at that any discount or promotion. This is the "no-promotion-promotion". When they had a "sale" over xmas, they sold items they did not have and listed a date for delivery that was not met, repeatedly. When contacted, they said they were just too busy. If you can't support the sale, the shipping, the logistics, then don't have the SALE until you can. This is a "no-sale-sale", until they actually have the sale. Get it??!!

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I ordered a 6 stage RODI water filter system from BRS after the first filter change in July of 2024 it quit working completely. It took month and months of working with the incompetent customer service before I finely gave up and requested a full refund, replacement or repair for the unit. Be cautious of their 365 day return policy. I got the RMA returned the unit now I've been waiting for MONTHS AND MONTHS for a refund. It is now January 2025 and still not resolved. They put a $480 credit on my account for future purchases. I will no longer purchase from BRS, just send me a refund. Well, allegedly the check got lost in the mail. I call BS, I don't think they sent a check at all, stalling. I will NEVER do business with this company.

I have purchased from Bulk Reef Supply…

I have purchased from Bulk Reef Supply many times since I don’t have a local fish store. I have been keeping high end salt and freshwater fish for well over 30 year so I’m not new to this. The issues are on the moral side of the company. I can list many but here are 2.
1 Bought one of their brand reverse osmosis systems with all the bells and whistles. Well it comes with no detailed written instructions and the online instructions are awful. Customer service send you to you tube and those are also lacking specifics and impossible to follow. Then you call customer service and they email you a response that is nothing more than your system looks right, even though it doesn’t work. So $500 wasted.
2 Then I decided I would only buy pre packaged products from them. Well that ok if you want 3 or 4 emails daily and the ads are never available. My example on Sunday after thanksgiving it was CYBER MONDAY early. I picked a!$150 product for 136, well the day they list it they only have the 7 dollar version and will not honor the sale on the other 5 sizes when they get it in. I didn’t share the product because I have been buying their products for decades. If you want my emails and their response I’m glad to share.

Bulk Reef Supply is nothing but a fraudulent bait and switch owned by an investment firm that does give a crap about you or your pets.

If I can give it less than a star

If I can give it less than a star, I would, bought an item from them on 14 November on the 17th. they had a black Friday sale on the same item that I just purchased for over $400 went on sale for $300 I signed up for text message and emails and I wasn’t informed that they were having a black Friday sale or else I would’ve waited until Friday. They refuse to give me the difference so I will be taking my business elsewhere. It’s a shame that I’ve done so much business with this company for them to do this…..

If you open your box to see if the product you purchased will work with your aquarium. You cannot return the product and get a refund. They will just send the product back to you even if you speak to one of there customer service reps

Poor service

I purchased salt from them that caused extreme spikes in CA and KH. I lost several prize pieces totally more than a couple thousand dollars. I never would’ve known how do not and complaining to a friend of mine who is a local Coral grower. She purchased several boxes of the same salt from them and had similar spikes losing several of her high end pieces. She called and had a refund that day. I called and was pushed off to the manufacture, Who has done absolutely nothing. They treated me like a dog, and I have spent a lot of money there but will no more.

By the way if you’re looking for the Neptune PMK parameter that BRS doesn’t have I recommend you contact Aquarium Specialties, not only did they fill my order in less than one day it’s arriving three days later… for free…

Great Dry Rocks!!

Ordered the Tucani Dry rock from them and few dry branches and flats. All was as expected and pretty good sized pieces. No breakup and was packaged perfectly foam peanuts for cushioning and rocks were bagged up. Would recommend to others for the dry rock.
