Left for 7.5 hrs in the middle of nowhere

Left for 7.5 hrs in the middle of saddleworth moor in 30 degrees with a dog. 2 recovery trucks sent. 1st wouldn’t take me as they said they only came to try and fix the car. 2nd was sent to incorrect location and took an extra 3 hrs to arrive. Will be leaving and never use again

Top notch service

My call was handled by a real person who at every stage did what they said they would do, rang me every 30mins to check on me and update me and the rescue lorry driver was excellent.

Helpful customer service excellent

Helpful customer service excellent, advisor checked every 30 mins to see if we were OK, recovery lorry came earlier than expected, and as a Saturday evening they picked my car back up from my home to take it to a garage, so grateful

Rescue vehicle arrived within 30…

Rescue vehicle arrived within 30 minutes to tow my car home. Will also be available to tow my car to a garage. I have used Britannia Rescue for many years and can thoroughly recommend their excellent service.

Breakdown recovery

Call handling excellent as was speed of recovery assistance. It made the whole stressful experience of breaking down which left the car immobile much more bearable

Poor service and poor communication

Called Britania at 11.49 to advise my car would not start. Asked if I had any medical issues and advised I require to take medications which were due by 13.00 hours.
11.57 Text from Britannia with claim number.
13.03 Advised Hinton Garage had been allocated for claim and call out
13.05 Sent Info for update on the situation, however this was on an app which I do not have!
13.55 Hinton finally arrived. They had only been advised of the call out by Britannia in the last 30 minutes.
I was a lone female, all be it, it was daytime and on a main road. However they took no notice of the fact that my medications were extremely important.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH BRITANNIA I will be advising LV Insurance that I will not be renewing the policy.

Absolutely appalling service

My daughter had the misfortune to hit standing water during the heavy storms in Kent and flooded her engine. She contacted Britannia at about 11pm and stressed she was female, on her own and blocking one lane of a dual carriageway.

Despite the excellent efforts of the Britannia call centre staff, they could not get their recovery agents to attend and she was still there at 3am. Luckily the Police managed to persuade another recovery team to help her and she got home at 3.50 am, but she had to pay them £80. I should point out that at least 10 other vehicles needed recovery from the same spot and none of them had difficulty finding agents to do the work.

I spoke to Britannia the following morning and they admitted they just could not get their agent to answer their calls. This must call into question the quality of the agents they are using which is very worrying for all of us.

I have been a Britannia member for over 30 years and have always been very pleased with their service. However, in this instance when we really needed their help they failed miserably.

We have to stress we have nothing but praise for the call centre staff who kept in contact with my daughter every 20-30 mins and indeed offered me £50 compensation when I spoke to them. All well and good, but my daughter is still £30 out of pocket and they never recovered or rescued her!

If Britannia wish to contact about this case that would be most welcome. The case ref isLVG=15869625 and my policy number is 768724

Car removed from a very tight spot.

I returned from holiday to find my car brakes had seized and I was unable to move it at all. The car fits pretty tightly in the garage with only about two feet of space on one side and about one foot on the other side.
The first recovery agent was unable to free the brakes and could not get it out of the garage.

Britannia arranged for a specialist tow vehicle to call out to remove the car and take it to a local garage.

I am extremely pleased with Britannia's response and cannot praise them enough for arranging everything.

Flat tyre and problems with the spare

Flat tyre and problems with the spare. Britannia offered a technician to help out a recovery. We opted for recovery. They arrived within the time they said and quickly recovered the vehicle. The recovery operator was really experienced and friendly.
