Absolutely horrible and atrocious…

Absolutely horrible and atrocious company! I ordered discus fish from them. I received one fish, that's it. No assorted pack like advertised. Absolutely terrible condition and dead within their 4 hour window. The fins on the fish were damaged and looked as if it had been attacked prior to shipping. The package was not labeled life fish or anything of the sort. The condition of the fish was upsetting and frustrating, especially given that they are not cheap fish at all. There is no way to contact these people except by email, which good luck getting a response. I wish I had seen reviews prior to trying this company. Do yourself a favor and do not use these folks at all. You will receive dead fish.

Do not be fooled by the flowery use of language on the webpages.

Contrary to the claim on their home page, you are anything but a "friend." Normal people and business's actually communicate with their "friends."

I strongly urge any prospective customers to read the reviews and take them to heart when considering dealing with this company. I was fooled by the flowery vernacular and lengthy disclaimer posted on the “contact us” page. This disclaimer speaks of their process and that they will only ship on certain days so to avoid the packages sitting over a weekend. You are refer you to view the shipping schedule prior to attempting any inquiry. Spoiler alert- the schedule is Tuesdays and Wednesdays only. Then the only option provided is to contact the company is via email. However; when you send an email, you are notified that they try to answer the emails within 48 hours but have taken up to 5 days. Looking at past reviews, it appears 5 days is more on the faster side of responses. I conducted a review search and found a link that provided a phone number; however, that leads to an international call center where you have 2 options. 1 buy more unrelated stuff or 2, not talk to an actual person in the company who will hang up on you. I foolishly placed a $150.00 order with AZ Gardens on Jan 24, 25. They were quick to process my funds, then provided an auto response email verifying they received my request and took my money. Two weeks later, and no follow up communications nor receiving my purchased items. I inquire into the status of my order via my profile. Under my profile, I find an undated invoice reading as having a status of “completed.” It was then that I started researching the reviews and looking for a phone number to contact them. I discovered the only option being the email which I sent, then the disclaimer about the timeframe for response. They did not respond within the first 24 hours. Upon further searching I found the number provided on a different website leading to the call center. This was wreaking of being a scam. I eventually sent a demanding email canceling my order and requesting a refund on threat that if I do not receive a response within the 48 hours I would be taking legal actions. Low and behold, they finally responded within an hour of sending the email. - proof they read them… they just choose to ignore you. The response was “order canceled, order refunded.” There is no semblance of a interested legit business person in operation here. No explanations, no attempts to mitigate, not even a hint towards an apology. The flowery persona is a complete ruse. Your money is their only interest. If I could give less than a star rating, it would be given as very well deserved. Be warned.

Do not order from azgardens

Do not order from azgardens. They are very rude and do not respond. The fish were DOA and never resent the order as they promised. They are also a very small family and not as big as advertised online. Avoid buying from them.

Charged $39 to ship seeds!!

Charged $39 to ship seeds. The order weighed 4 ounces. They would not cancel the order even though I contacted them instantly after the order. I wish I had read reviews before ordering.

The worst place ever

The worst place ever. Poor health of the fish. The packaging didn’t say live fish. So my mail person just put the poor fish in the mail box at 90 degrees day.

STAY AWAY FROM AZGARDENS.COM

I just ordered some fish from there - what a mistake. I wish I had seen all the negative reviews earlier. 6 of the 30 fish I ordered died within a day, but outside their 4 hour allowed window, so they denied my request for reimbursement. As the other commenters have said:

Amazing Company!

Amazing company. I don’t seem to know why people are saying this is a scam? Or how bad it is. I order Vampire crabs! And they came in super great condition! I bought them for my nephew!! And they did an excellent job packaging and mailing it to me! I received the package in 2 DAYS!!! That’s SUPER FAST!

I want to thank Azgardens.com for their service and will be purchasing more in the future!

Awful!

After waiting over a week to even send my order, the plants arrived so badly rotting that I could literally smell it through the box in the post office- it smelled like salad left way too long in the fridge. About 75% of the order had to be thrown away, it was so disappointing.

They sent me the wrong species and one…

They sent me the wrong species and one sick angel fish. This was a very sad and horrible experience for me and the animals. To make it worse there is no way to contact azaquarium through email or phone because they do not get back to you. I tried to get my money back through a Wells Fargo claim but it did not work out. Do not order from this company. They are horrible and should not be in business!

have been an aquarium hobbyist for 25 years, and periodically order from sites like this when I can't find what I want locally. I ordered from this site and right from the outset there follow up with email confirmation of order and shipping was very poor compared with their competitors. I finally told them I want to cancel the order when I found out it hadn't been shipped. Their response was I would have to pay a 30% fee, so I told them to ship it. I got an email with shipping information and tracking said it was delivered today. I never received it. They unbelievably used USPS to ship live fish. Their competition uses FedEx or UPS reliability and ability to track. I contacted them (noone answers their phone) by email and text, and telling them I want a refund, and got back a nasty text from someone named Peter Yunger telling me that it's not their problem, and that I have to deal with the Postmaster myself. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! Fortunately I bank with Chase, and I called them and had them block the charge, which they did. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
FOLLOWING IS THE TEXT I RECEIVED FROM PETER YUNGER:
I am not the correct number for thesue concerns. You're gonna need to call the staton umanager, They are the ones that deliver your packages not us. We've used the Postal Service for 34 years but that's irrelevant. It was all explained on our website. You're obviously not the kind of person I want as a customer I assure you that.. We have nothing to do with your delivery. We did our part. You will not get a refund. You need to work a little harder than just calling my cell phone and griping over things that I have no control over. I am deleting and blocking you. If you have any concerns you can contact the office directly at I only deal with nice people. Good day.

Just received this email from them today. Is this a business you want to do business with?

You must track and pick up your own package from the post office.  That is your responsibility. Im sorry, but you have been so unreasonable and difficult to deal with.  We cannot have customers like you.  We are marking your account to never sell to you again. You are indeed accountable for your own package and responsible for tracking your own shipment.  You entered into a legal contract when you submitted your order, please take a moment to re-read our terms before you continue your false defamation campaign. All correspondence is being saved and compiled for future legal action. Good luck.

This company is GARBAGE!

This company should be investigated by the SEC. They take your order and money and never provide any follow up or the product you paid for. They are a complete rip off. I placed a $110 order with them and received nothing. Time to visit these clowns in person.

Got ripped off by these People! Beware!

Paid over a $150 dollar for a species of fish and priority shipping in the beginning of August. It's now August 31st, and I'm contacting my CC to try to reclaim the funds because they never shipped and won't respond to any of my emails or calls. I've also filled out the form on their site several times, and have never heard any response. I've giving them almost a month to respond by any means. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE.
