Don't touch this company

Don't touch this company. They took over my health insurance from Agrupació the management is a disaster. Customer service agents are rude and uneducated. I have had to pay an abogado to send them a Burofax to advise them that they cannot legally change the date of renewal on a policy.

How come I get a refund from an airline within a few days and with an insurrance company it takes months and still you don't solve the problem?

NEVER EVER WILL I TAKE AN "INSURRANCE" FOR A FLIGHT - AT LEAST NOT WITH YOU!!!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

Horrible Experience – Zero Support in a Medical Emergency

I am extremely disappointed with AXA Spain’s complete failure to provide assistance when I needed urgent medical support. Despite having an active policy, I was ignored in a critical situation.

I contracted a very high fever while abroad in Bali, a serious illness requiring immediate medical attention. In my most vulnerable moment, I reached out to AXA for help—only to be met with silence. My WhatsApp message was rejected, and I was unable to get through on the emergency line. No response, no assistance, nothing.

This level of negligence is unacceptable. An insurance provider should be reliable in emergencies, yet AXA Spain completely abandoned me when I needed them most. The stress and distress they caused me during an already difficult time are inexcusable.

I have since canceled my policy and will be pursuing legal action for their failure to fulfill their contractual obligations. I strongly advise against trusting AXA Spain for health insurance—when it matters most, they will not be there for you.

Avoid at all costs.

Stole 500€ from me

Where to start? They bought out the Atlantis, who I already had a policy with. Tried to claim, but they didn't recognise the policy number. Got sent between about 6 different people, each time on a phone number with at least 5 menus and a wait of 20 minutes. Then I'd get cut off and have to start all over again. Didn't receive anything about renewal, but then I didn't actually take out a policy with them to begin with. Tried to contact them to cancel it anyway - because who knows what they will do. Cancelled the direct payment. Send an email, send a letter, call them. They still take 500€ from my account. Call, ask for a refund, again get sent between many different people, no one knows what's going on. Try to email again, get sent various different email addresses. No one ever replies. Call again, get told " the migration Atlantis to AXA has gone really badly and everyone is complaining". They've still got my 500€. Don't know how they get away with it.

I booked 3 different doctor’s…

I booked 3 different doctor’s appointments on the web.

After booking, I received no email or SMS confirmation, and I couldn’t find the booked appointments on the app or website.

So I called and asked for the appointment details I booked so I’d know which clinic to go to and which doctor I’d be seeing.

The agent asked me to verify 5 things: my NIE, full name, address, phone number, and insurance policy number.

After staying on the phone for over 10 minutes, she said, “No.”

And mentioned that she couldn’t confirm which appointments I’d booked or guide me on where I should be able to see them on the website or app without any reasons.

Absolutely ridiculous, they’d rather let someone die instead of letting them know the details for them to get healed and live.

Disappointing experience with AXA Spain — the company's reputation is at stake

Unfortunately, my experience with AXA Spain left me deeply disappointed. I spent nearly two hours trying to reach a representative, but I couldn't get the help I needed. English-language support is either non-existent or extremely limited — an English-speaking automated bot greets you at first, but if you manage to reach an operator, they only speak Spanish.

Moreover, the company’s promised response times (48 hours) are not being met. This level of service damages trust not only in the Spanish branch but in AXA as a whole. If I were an investor, I would be seriously concerned about how this attitude toward customer service affects the company’s reputation on an international scale.

AXA has always symbolized quality and reliability to me, but this experience with the Spanish office has shown a completely different side. I sincerely hope this feedback reaches the management team, and they reconsider their processes, as many clients may lose trust in the company otherwise.

I wouldn’t trust what they offer…

I was offered an AXA health insurance with a bonus of 2 months free if I give up my previous insurance and I contracted a policy with reimbursement whereby they promised to refund 80 percent of any private doctor visit plus I had a travel insurance. Nothing worked! To get my travel insurance money after a doctor visit in Mexico I had to email like 10 times and contact them a local office in Barcelona. The alleged 2 month free I never got - first the Barcelona office which offered this to me was apologising for the delay in processing the 2 month fee and then reverted saying they never promised… a clinic which offered a doctor visit if under insurance in a month or more said that a private visit is available sooner, AXA rejected reimbursement under the explanation that the doctor is listed as collaborating with them (so wait 2 month if you want this by ‘seguro’. We are cancelling and we DO NOT recommend to anyone for the obvious reasons

Claim Number 9703255990 Unreasonable behaviour and unwilling to compromise

My house in Mallorca has been insured by AXA for 20 years.

3 months ago rodents damaged the water pipes which flooded our kitchen and damaged the wall and floor units.

AXA responded quickly to the damage to the walls and arranged to re plaster the damaged area.

However when it came to replacement of some of the kitchen units it was a different matter. We were offered a ridiculous amount in settlement. Their expert or loss adjuster refused to acknowledge the cost estimate we obtained from the company who built our kitchen but was unable to provide a contractor who would replace
Our units for the claim value offered. So now we in stalemate with a kitchen we cannot use and no sign of a compromise on the claim value.

This has been by far the worse…

This has been by far the worse expirience i have ever had with an insurance company. First of all I know how slow insurance companies can be but this one takes the prize. After renting an apt we had our shutter windows broken by strong winds. 4 months ago the “perrito” came and took photos as well as the company they were gonna send to fix this.
Well we have been waiting for over 4 months for them to contact us and come fix this problem.
I decided to google this company and found out that they are the worse insurance company in Spain. Had to come here and give my two cents.. Beware do not sign contract with them as 100’s of others have stated I doubt they will even turn up to fix the problem.
Also their customer support (once they answer after hours of waiting in line) are rude and terrible.

The worst customer service

The worst customer service I've ever seen. Not a single operator speaks English, although on the website they provide tel. numbers for service in English . They just write down your tel. number, promise to call you back, but they never call back. And when you want to cancel their services, they refer your case to lawyers and try to force you to pay for insurance.

Axa Spain - a company to avoid

The insurance company's communication has been extremely poor, making it difficult to connect with anyone. Following a home robbery in April 2023 and after endless communication on my part and a 5 month wait, I received a payment that was only 50% of the actual sum owed. Despite the clear legal obligation, I am still in the process of convincing them to fulfill their responsibility. This lack of interest and respect is unacceptable. It's disheartening that despite 15 years without a single claim, the company's actions seem to favor their interests rather than mine. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this company to anyone looking for insurance in Spain. Dealing with them has been an expensive and arduous ordeal, characterised by unfulfilled promises and a misrepresentation of facts.

------------------------------------------------

Don't touch them

Absolutely impossible to get in contact with. They ask you do you want English, when someone finally answered they only speak Spanish. I had a break in an the gentleman stole every piece of jewellery my late husband bought me and cash I was saving for a family wedding. To date they are saying it wasn't a burglary as he didn't break a door to get in. Words fail me.
