No customer Service, incredibly dishonest membership practices
Was a member at one branch in Greenfield, Wisconsin and I moved and they transferred my membership to another branch In Franklin, WI without my consent. Also they auto-renewed my contract WITHOUT my consent weeks after I contacted them several times expressing my desire to cancel. I stopped by in person several times during business hours at both locations which was a drive for me and every single day I went there was nobody there, can almost never get ahold of anyone on the phone, and their online portal is busted beyond belief. Finally I get a reply by email weeks later concerning my cancellation and they tell me I need to pay to cancel. They gave me account info and directed me to another online portal to pay and be rid of this and the online portal said I owe $0. So at this point I attempted to pay and I was unable to because their account information was incorrect. So now months later I have collections calling me for this phantom account that I have with them asking for ~$180. And its now hitting my credit. So basically, I call you regarding cancellation and you ghost me, I try to pay when you contact me about debt and you ghost me, so now I ghost you?? Stay far away from these guys their contracts are predatory and good luck contacting them if you want out.

I strongly recommend never signing a contract with this gym, it's a shackle that won't let you go!!!!! First, you need to pay $50 for a magnetic pass, then you need to pay $30 twice a month, that is, $60 per month, and if you want to terminate the contract, you still need to pay for the next two months!!!!! You also need to pay for insurance of the exercise machines against damage once a year!!! The exercise machine itself is small, there is no room for gymnastics!!! There is no normal air!

Sandbridge Anytime FITNESS...
Sandbridge Anytime FITNESS...
I have been a member of multiple Gym's from Boston to Dubai and without a doubt Anytime is the overall best and best value. They are never overly crowded and Sandbridge Anytime is ALWAYS Clean. Having been to other local Gym's Anytime is like going to workout with Friend's and Management is knowledgeable and serious about your individual Working-out. I have been a Member of other local Gym's and there are times I could hardly hear myself think they were so loud, crazy loud.

Absolutely Awful.
Absolutely Awful.
I cancelled my membership back in February of 2025 due to having a second baby and not being able to get to the gym. I went to the location I always workout at, cancelled, signed an agreement and was told I had a month to use the facility. Fast forward to April of 2025, I noticed there were still charges coming out of our account for the membership. I attempted to call multiple times, and with no response I had to hire a babysitter to physically go there and talk to someone. During that meeting, the staff told me they had no idea why I was still being charged and sometimes this happens with the accounts system they use, they would call and get it fixed. This staff member also took a phone call and terminated someones contract at no cost and said they would handle it. That was on a Friday. The following Monday, I receive a call from a different anytime fitness location stating that they were my "home" gym and I needed to cancel through them, but there was still time left on my contract. I explained how that was never once told to me, and I thought the membership was cancelled months ago. This staff member then told me even though I signed a termination agreement at the other location, they have no idea what goes on between locations and basically it meant nothing. Mind you, my "home" location was closed for months due to a pipe bursting and equipment being replaced, so the majority of my membership I couldn't even use that location. I was told to write an email, expressing what happened and my concerns. I wanted my money refunded from the time the termination agreement was signed, and to not be charged anymore. I sent that email on April 21, 2025. It is now June 30, 2025 and I have not heard a response back. We are still being charged.
Absolutely do not recommend. A local FB group has countless reviews of the exact same thing happening to multiple other people. It seems this company makes a profit off of their negligence.

Mhh…
As someone who has trained in over a dozen gyms — from Econo Fitness and Planet Fitness to serious powerlifting and commercial gyms like World Gym — I can confidently say my experience at Anytime Fitness has been the most disappointing to date.
Let me begin by addressing the membership structure. It is unnecessarily convoluted and appears intentionally designed to confuse. Promotional offers advertised online, such as “$5 for five weeks,” are incredibly misleading. In reality, after fees and conditions, this promotion cost me at least $72 — a far cry from what was promised. This kind of bait-and-switch tactic is not only unethical but damaging to your brand’s credibility.
Next, the facility itself falls short of basic expectations. The absence of a bench press setup is frankly inexcusable for any gym claiming to support strength training. While squat racks can be repurposed, this isn’t a viable long-term substitute — especially when the bars spin poorly during bench presses, creating a safety issue. Most other machines felt outdated or subpar, and the lighting inside is both dim and oddly directed, making the environment feel more draining than energizing.
However, what shocked me most was the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of your staff. When I calmly expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for a refund, I was met with an arrogant, personal insult:
“With all due respect, you’re not big enough to talk like that — you don’t have the age or experience to judge this gym.”
This comment was entirely unnecessary and unprofessional. My physique or age has nothing to do with the validity of my concerns. I’ve been training consistently for over three years, and my criticisms were based on clear, measurable shortcomings. Dismissing customer feedback with condescension only reinforces the impression that this gym relies on image over substance.
Multiple experienced lifters in my circle, including competitive athletes, have visited this location and share my sentiment: overpriced, overrated, and far from delivering on its promises.

I previously wrote a positive review of…
I previously wrote a positive review of Anytime Fitness in Norwood, and I wish I could say my experience has remained the same. Under the previous management, particularly Ben and his dynamic team of trainers, the gym had a welcoming, supportive, and motivating environment. I trained consistently 2–4 times a week, achieved meaningful progress—losing fat, gaining muscle—and enjoyed a great rapport with the staff. It was a place I genuinely looked forward to going.
Unfortunately, since the change in management, the overall atmosphere and experience have taken a noticeable downturn. The team of afternoon trainers I had worked closely with all left shortly after the new manager took over. Since then, there's been a constant turnover of staff—at least four different trainers have cycled through in a short time. This instability has made it difficult to build any continuity or trust with the training staff.
I’ve also had multiple issues trying to communicate with the new manager. Over the past few months, I’ve sent several emails regarding different concerns, including trouble with the AF app. While he initially replied saying he’d look into it, I never received any follow-up. Weeks later, he emailed me about something unrelated, and again, when I responded asking for clarification, I was met with silence. During a scheduled in-person meeting, I asked him for contact information for his direct supervisor, and he refused to share it. I sent a follow-up email, and again, no response—a full week later.
Beyond these management issues, the experience with one of the afternoon trainers I had been working with also changed dramatically. After a disappointing body scan that showed a gain in fat and loss in muscle, I was understandably upset—especially since I had been putting in consistent effort. During that session, I was told I needed to “work harder,” which was hard to hear in that moment. Emotionally overwhelmed, I stepped away and ultimately told the trainer I couldn’t continue the session. A couple of days later, we spoke briefly, and when I said I wasn’t sure if I’d be returning to training, that was the last meaningful interaction we had. Since then, the trainer has not acknowledged me at the gym. It’s disheartening to feel that because I had a setback and didn’t immediately recommit, I am no longer seen as worth the trainer’s time.
To say this has all been disappointing and frustrating would be an understatement. The sense of community and professionalism that once defined Anytime Fitness in Norwood has faded, and the communication and care I once experienced have been replaced with inconsistency and disregard.
As a result of these ongoing issues, I can no longer recommend this location.

Working out is an important part of how…
Working out is an important part of how I relax and de-stress after a long day at work. However, I was recently informed of a new no-phone policy, which I find both frustrating and unnecessary. In today’s world, phones are commonly used during workouts — whether for music, tracking progress, personal safety, or staying connected. The way this policy was communicated and enforced by staff was not only disruptive but added stress to what should be a positive and personal time.
In addition, I believe attention would be better directed toward improving the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility. There have been ongoing issues that deserve more focus, and addressing them would significantly enhance the experience for all members.
I hope you’ll consider more flexible and balanced policies that reflect the current times and member needs. I also encourage stronger emphasis on maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Stole funds!
Despite giving written notice to cancel my membership and revoking debit authority, Anytime Fitness Frankston continued to charge my account for over 6 months, totalling $476.70.
My requests for a refund were repeatedly declined, and I was instead offered a free month of membership, which did not address the unauthorised debits.
If you want a gym that will steal your money this is the one to sign up for

Anytime Fitness is the most poorly run gym ever. I had an injury and had to stop going for 6 months per the agreement terms. They continued to bill me for 8 months despite repeated claims by the manager it was a mistake and would be corrected. He lied to me repeatedly and said it would be corrected and when it wasn't he went totally silent. DO NOT join this gym. It's small and claustrophobic as well

Amazing quality gym that's 24/7
So I head about the new location open in my area, and I was excited about it. I've recently moved to the area of Etobicoke, and ben to a few of the gym in the are that wear ok but not live up to my expectations. I was a fit4less member for a while now the one on Queensway&Kipling, and let me till you that place is a shit whole unclean, leaking ceiling in the bathroom and in the gym area. I decided to make the change and move on to a better gym with better equipment and overall better atmosphere, AnyTim Fitness at Kipling&Bloor is amazing, new perfect working machine respectful members that put back there weights. No annoying slamming of weights very clean, and the staff are very friendly greeting you with a smile and a hello, and the same when you are leaving the gym. The staff is always on point clean making sure the upkeeping of the gym and the safety of the members are there number one perority.

helpful managers, Jeff
I talked with one of the managers,Jeff. I let him know that my key fob has not been working. Even though he was not on work time, he took the time to report my probem to higher up people and suggested I stop bac when one of them is there working over the weekend.

Highly not recommended
Highly not recommended. The branch at Setia Tropika, Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia has poor customer service and management, small space with overcrowding issues, limited equipment, basic interior and toilets without any aesthetic appeal. Definitely the worst gym experience and glad to move on to another gym. No more peasant gym!

MANAGEMENT AT THE CULVER CITY, CA ANYTIME FITNESS CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER IF THEY CARED!
MANAGEMENT AT THE CULVER CITY ANYTIME FITNESS LOCATION CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER IF THEY CARED!
THE FIRST BATHROOM/SHOWER DOOR ON THE RIGHT AS YOU ENTER THE HALLWAY HAS NO HOT WATER IN THE HANDICAP SHOWERHEAD ON A CORD! NONE! THE TURNING MECHANISM ON THE SHOWERHEAD ONLY TURNS ABOUT HALFWAY, NOT TO THE HOT WATER! MANAGEMENT MUST FIX THIS, BUT PROBABLY WON'T!
THEN I WENT TO ANOTHER BATHROOM WITHOUT A HANDICAP SHOWERHEAD AT ALL! TERRIBLE!
THEN I TRIED TO EXIT THE GYM BUT THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN! I ASKED SOME GYM MEMBERS FOR HELP, AND A NICE WOMAN SHOWED ME THAT OPENING THE EXIT DOOR REQUIRES PUSHING A BUTTON SIMULTANEOUSLY AS YOU PUSH THE DOOR OPEN. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?! WHAT IF THERE'S AN EARTHQUAKE, A GUN SHOOTING OR OTHER EMERGENCY? GOOD LUCK OPENING THE EXIT DOOR FAST, IF AT ALL IF THERE'S AN ELECTRICAL SHORTAGE OR OUTAGE! YOU SIMPLY SHOULD BE ABLE TO PUSH THE EXIT DOOR OPEN WITH NO ELECTRIC BUTTON!
TERRIBLE, CRAZY MANAGEMENT AT THE CULVER CITY ANYTIME! FITNESS! JUST TERRIBLE!

New app never works
Their new app is the worst possible app on the surface of planet earth.
Attempt to book or cancel classes results in error messages, which is the basic purpose of this app. All those fancy advertising videos on the app are just annoying and unnecessary.
This app is so bad that I consider changing gym just not to use this crappy buggy thing anymore.
Anytime fitness. Do everyone a favour. Remove this new buggy app that makes everyone’s life harder and just bring back the old app. At least we could book / cancel classes on that old one!

I've love going to Anytime Fitness when I head home from work. They have great equipment, it's very clean and the Manager, Aaron, in Albuquerque (Coal) is extremly friendly and encouraging. It's been a great experience.

After lengthy back and forth they still do not cancel my membership. They charge me very month from my card. I now know why they use Google Wallet in the first place so that they can have full access to all my card. I had to remove their permission in my Google Wallet account and I had to remove the app so they do not automatically add my card to their account Everytime I have new number. They do very shady business. I have report them to States General Attorney so they can keep an eye on this business.

Memberships are inflexible and not worth the money for the size of the place and limited equipment... Went for a tour and the bad smell should have been a dead giveaway. Do the staff not care about their gym? The lady who gave me the tour couldn't seem less bothered... no energy, whirlwind tour, couldnt answer my questinos about the contract details etc., it was as if i was a waste of her time only. Range of classes and community feel were the only attractive things about the gym
