America's Best has allot of young inexperience staff in their New Braunfels location. They are nice and do their best but can not deal with prescription/glasses that are difficult or complex. If you have a simple RX and will accept their eye glass selection this a good economic choice, other wise find a more experienced provide. Spent twice a much for my glasses from America's Best and after three sets can not wear them. Note you have 30 days to return to Office which was not shared with me and they do not call when your glasses are ready. Very frustration experience.

I wish I’d looked at reviews before going. My son had issues with added charges and I’ll be honest, I thought he just had not paid attention. But I went in one day looking at pair eye wear frames and asked a LOT of questions about what my insurance would cover etc. I asked the same questions the day of my appointment. AFTER my appointment they disclosed that my insurance wouldn’t cover my diabetic eye exam but they always have previously. Then I was told I misunderstood another charge. Ended up spending $45 out of pocket after being told $0. Better than my son who spent $89 over. Buyer beware.

SCAM?
I went to get simple glasses after cataract surgery. I saw the surgeon the day before and was cleared to go. The surgeon conducted pressure test and mapped by eyes. Said my vision was 20/25 in one eye and 20/40 in the other.
The pre screener at Americas Best said my vision was 20/40 and 20/60. She then said by law they had to do a pressure test. I asked what law and she then said well.....
I left. Not sure if they are incompetent or trying to scam.

I won't even give them 1 star. I bought 2 glasses, 1 of them for work and because the curvature i can not wear them (I can't see anything with them) that's what I was told and got the money refunded. Unfortunately the other glass i can not see from the left side and asked them to get them fix for me but I was told that I have to pay again for the exam and glasses. There's no way that I will pay for something that was not done correctly in the first place and to repit the same mistakes? There's no way.

RIP OFF
My wife and O bought glasses at America's Best in Brandon, FL late last year. We paid in excess of $ 200 for 4 pairs.
I did not wear one pair until last week - they were duplicates of one pair that I already had so there was no need. Wouldn't you know it - one leg was broken.
I went to the store on Monday to see about repairs. They had the nerve to quote me a price of $ 80 for repairs. Ridiculous - you get 2 brand new pairs for
$ 80.

Clerks are not well trained for this office
Without a lab the wait time is 2 weeks. I ordered two pair, same frame and same prescription. It's been 11/2 weeks, received call for pickup; however, only one pair arrives. Asked the clerk where is the second pair, she says maybe it was two different frames. As she is holding the paperwork, I said read the order. She said she doesn't know when the second pair would arrive, and asked for my name. Again I reminded her that she has my paperwork and she went to the computer and said sometime next week.
Do not purchase or even waste time at this location on Broadway in Chula Vista...

Went to the downtown Chicago location
Went to the downtown Chicago location. First lens were the dr had done wrong. and I was given another eye exam free. But when I went to pick up the finished glasses the girl did not even check that the bifocal was in the right location. Did not give me a card to check the reading or how the distance seeing was. Did not adjust my glasses, only handed them to me and try to send me on my way. When I said that the ear pieces needed to be curved around my ears, she heated them, bent them, and handed them to me while she walked away. Put them on the see how they fit now and boy were then hot. Needless to say I was not happy with my experience.

Terrible quality lens, no compensation for poor product
This has by far been my worst ever experience with a glasses lens company and I have been a glasses wearer for 15 years. I initially went in to get new lens put into an existing frame with an outside prescription. They filled this prescription and the lens were terrible, making me feel dizzy and disoriented. They suggested I get re-tested and then they can try again. We did just that and I got back the second set of lens and the problem was still not solved. Despite being slightly better, my periphery was completely out of focus and there was still a jarring disoriented feeling. I tried to allow my eyes to get used to this for a few weeks and had no success. I resorted to going to another lens place that filled them and provided high-quality lens that were perfect. Thus, the quality of product that America's Best Lens promises is not upheld and people should exercise caution when buying their lens. I tried to receive a refund on these lens and was informed by one employee that this shouldn't be a problem and that a manager would contact me. The manager never did contact me and so I reached back out only to be denied the refund because I was outside the 30 day refund window. While I appreciate they have a policy around refunds, they failed to understand that I allowed time to try and let my eyes adjust to these poor quality lens and then had to allow more time to explore another option (trying to give them the benefit of the doubt). All of this takes time and the fact that they lie about the quality of their product and fail to compensate people in any capacity who have been duped by their system is abhorrent.

Not Repeat Customer Friendly
There is no logic in making it as difficult as possible for your repeat customers to make an appointment through their cellphones. Sam's Club Optical is starting to appeal as a more reliable option.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Had a 1030 apt @ the South College Rd, Wilmington NC location; arrived1015-wasn't AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGED until 1021..was told to go to waiting room- another 20mn..tech doing first part of exam sounded as if barking commands and didn't want to be there(should've left then)-left to go back to receptionist to possibly reschedule the vision part of the exam( was on extended lunch break).. NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED, AGAIN!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE-Needless to say, I WALKED OUT!! NEVER AGAIN

I found the service at this shop in greenville sc, to be excellent. They were very attentive and Chris was very helpful in arranging what I needed.
The test was very efficient and the time to getting my glasses was only a couple of days.

Poor quality OVER PRICED
Poor quality - had to return (dangerously manufacutured with a sharp piece protruding near the nose piece and nearly poked me in my eye). Faulty prescription, asked to have it verified and I was treated poorly. Way overpriced in comparison to other places that I could have and finally did shop. Only buy from here if you like overpriced plastic.

I went in for the 2 pairs of glasses for 89.95. When I showed the glasses to the man ringing in my purchase and asked if these were part of the 89.95, 2 pair deal, he said yes that's correct! I didn't even realize until I went to pick up my glasses that I was charged for both pairs at full price. When I pointed it out to them and (even told them the guy that rung me up said they were part of the deal) all they had to say was those weren't part of the deal. What a bunch of BS this company is! I'll never buy glasses from them ever again! Worst customer service ever! Don't get glasses from here. You WILL be over charged and tricked! Just look at their rating 2 stars lol that's dispicable! 🤔

They ruined my vision
They ruined my vision. There was something wrong with the glasses the first time and they weren't "right" so I went back and they did another eye exam, I got a new pair of glasses, my vision was blurry within a few months. I went to a different optometrist at the beginning of this year (my vision was almost 20/20 when I went to AB, I needed to sharpen images in the distance due to my astigmatism. I could always read the lowest or next to lowest line on the chart), and I couldn't even see the E at the top of the chart without it being extremely blurry. I was told that my vision had changed almost 2 points, whatever that means, but all I know is I used to be able to sit about 4 ft from the TV and see a clear picture and now I need glasses for that. I used to be able to sit at my desk at work and use the computer and now I need glasses for that. After the new exam, I started playing around with the glasses from AB and they were kind of warped. I don't know what else to call it. If I would look through the left lense with my left eye, things would be blurry when looking through one area, but looking through another area of the lens would be perfect. Same for the right eye. There is no other reason that my vision would change that much in that short of a time. I'm so mad about this. I had my eyes checked twice by them within a month because the first pair of glasses wasn't correct. My vision has been very close to 20/20 my entire life and now I can't see anything clearly 2 ft in front of my face.

Best Place to go for Eye Glasses
I had a wonderful experience at the location in Laurel, MD. Yes i had to wait but they were very apologetic and very nice about it saying they were short staffed. The eye doctor was simply amazing and Tiasha was great, very professional and nice. Explained everything on the receipt and I cant wait for my two pairs of glasses to come in 7 days. They even took my insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Very pleased.
