Poor treatment
Shocking treatment of its employees. It’s a case of if your face fits. Genuine hard work not recognised.

I purchased an Invisalign cleaning accessory in January and the product was immediately defective. I tried troubleshooting on my own (different outlets, adapters) and it never turned on.
After reaching out to Invisalign (Align Tech product support) via email [the only mode of communication they provide you in your order confirmation], there was no response.
I was quickly reaching the 30-day window, so I reached out to my Discover card for a chargeback/ dispute because I wasn't hearing anything from Invisalign.
Long story short, Invisalign actually sent Discover their "terms" saying I was outside of my 30-day window and wouldn't be reimbursed.
*I* was not outside of the 30-day window. They were, because this took so long. I'm so disappointed that this company is getting away with being so unresponsiveness and yet a huge corporation. I did my due diligence to get everything returned on time and yet I'm the one getting burned by all parties.

I’m a practitioner, and I can 100% vouch that this company is a scam. They will promise to take you off autopay and issue a refund for overcharging you, and then never actually follow through with any of it. There are so many clear aligner companies with cheaper pricing, for practitioners and patients, and they’ll have much greater customer service than align. Don’t ever sign with them! I’m currently scammed out of $1000 and counting…

Invisalign is expensive. It is a cost I am willing to pay, but I have a problem paying a lot of money for a crappy product.
Part of invisalign is the app. The virtual care is a major aspect of the treatment. The app for the Netherlands is not updated for android users, so any Dutch android users cannot access the invisalign app.
I tried to let them know about this oversight, and ask them to please update the app so that I can use it. It took 1 month for me to get a response, and the response was about how to use the app. Again, I am unable to install this app at all, and the only response I got from customer service was how to use the app.
Frankly, it should not take this long to get a response, and those responses should be actually helpful. This is not a budget product/service. It is unacceptable to charge as much as they do to provide such crap support.
I regret getting invisalign. If I have medical issues caused by the lack of virtual care, my orthodontist and invisalign will be responsible. This company is greedy and negligent and dangerous.

Get regular braces. When you choose Invisalign you also get stuck with the dentist you choose 4 EVER, no matter how bad the dentist is you can never ever change provider.

I've recently completed my invisalign treatment (lite upgraded to full) and I can honestly say it's an expensive gadget rather than an effective orthodontics device. I really wish I had gone for traditional fixed braces - why?
1. To make invisalign somewhat effective you must wear it 22hrs a day. This means taking it out several times a day to eat and drink - natural human behaviour, followed by having to brush and floss your teeth before putting them back on. Whenever invisalign is off your teeth, it doesn't do the job cause your teeth will try and shift into the old position. Now imagine all your daily activities and having to do the invisalign procedure on top of those, think about how you'd feel having to take out braces every time you want to eat or drink anything (except water), then having to brush your teeth before being able to put it back on. It's simply not sustainable and trust me, after 6 mts you're well fed up with this.
On the contrary, fixed braces are there at ALL TIMES whether you eat or not, whether you brush your teeth or not - this really does make a difference.
2. Invisalign is a one single plastic entity so allows for limited teeth movement. Fixed braces, due to their construction, naturally allow for better manipulation of individual tooth.
My teeth weren't even that crooked but one of my front teeth didn't fit into the jaw so only partially grew out of the jaw and was twisted. The orthodontist said that invisalign will sort this and advised the lite version. My treatment was to take c. 6 mts. It ended up taking nearly 1.5 yrs, partially due to the pandemic but mostly because the lite braces didn't manage to shift my crooked tooth and I was switched to the full option. To be honest, the full invisalign felt like a much better tailored set of braces. Even that one didn't do a job I'd be 100% happy with.
3. Lengthy and inefficient process - every time there is anything wrong and you need a new set of braces produced, from your orthodontics appointment to receiving the braces it'll take c. a month - this is another delay to your treatment meaning you're wearing your old braces 'in vain' - they're no producing further progress but you can't stop as your teeth will start shifting back to the old position.
If wish I could turn back time, get an effective treatment with fixed braces and have my teeth the way I want them.
