I've purchased a ball head and a leveling head based on several; criteria, namely, high quality, American made, and ease of use. The Acratech products I now own exceed all of those conditions. All... See more

The GXP is beautiful to hold and behold and by and large works great. The best thing about the GXP is its weight and the knobs. My only gripe was that there remains some creep after tightening with... See more

Fantastic

Fantastic, I love it although once converted to New Zealand dollars it was about $950 which is a crazy price to pay but as they say the bitterness or poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten. :)

Leica M-M6 Custom Plate

I had been looking for a Leica M-M6 Custom Plate to fit my Leica MA, and Acratech had the item in stock. I ordered it, and it arrived at my residence within the week. It fits nicely on my Leica MA, and now I can use it with my tripod and ball head, which is compatible with the Arca-Swiss type release clamp.

I ordered the wrong item

I ordered the wrong item. They replaced it with the correct one.
I would contact them, before I purchase and item online to make sure I had the right item.
Otherwise great service.

Great quality workmanship

I use Acratech gear because of its high quality, ruggedness, and that it's a family business making this stuff in the USA. The GPX ball head, lever lock, camera and lens plates provide an adaptable and solid platform for my photography. Thanks to Scott and Patty!

The best ball head I've invested in!

I used the GXP-SS on a recent trip to Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands. I had to undertake considerable trekking in winter conditions over hilly terrain. I chose the GXP-SS ball head for use with my Nikon Z9 and a Z 24-70 f/4 lens which I use for landscape photography.
PROs:The ball head coped really well with the mounted equipment load, and withstood the winter conditions and intermittent snowfall well. The high torque screws worked really well and did not fail even once.
CONS: Maybe it's just me, but I found reversing the ballhead to shoot panoramas rather fiddly and cumbersome in the intense cold, icy winds and with winter (photographic) gloves on. I plan on investing in a good levelling head to go with this ball head.

Order was processed quick and arrive in quick time.

Order was processed quick and arrive in very good time to NZ. As yet I have had very little time to use the product in the field but initial use is excellent, functions very well and easy to use. The large bubble level is great. The ability to rotate the arca swiss plate is also necessary for my photography and has a nice stable fit. Based on limited use so far I am very happy.

The Right Choice

Well I have discovered Acratech. Big time! I started out with the panorama head. Love it!! Then I grabbed the GXP. Slapped that on my everyday tripod 'really a game changer. I enjoy the grip this head offers. No more lens sag when dialing in my shot. So when I evaluated my macro gear I quickly realized I needed that ultimate head also. Over all the build quality is just incredible across the entire line. They really thought outside the box and designed an incredible piece of equipment that is a photographers best friend. Thanks Acratech!

Easy to place an order and fast delivery.

Easy to place an order and fast delivery.
Each quick release plate I have ordered from Acratech has fit the camera and has eliminated the camera slipping and rotating on the tripod.
