No Refunds, Even if Your Car is Towed to the Wrong Location
If you truly hate your car and money and don't care if you ever see either again, then do business with the truly appalling AAA. We joined last night and paid $60 for a tow this morning. My husband confirmed the address of our mechanics shop with the tow truck driver. Towards the end of the business day, my husband called the shop to check on the car and found out it was never delivered. After spending the next 10 minutes wondering where our car was, he received a call back from our shop notifying him that they found our car at the used car dealership next door. He immediately phoned AAA, his call was escalated to a supervisor and he was told she would check with the driver to find out what happened. When he asked for a refund of the $60 he'd spent on the tow since we've now lost another day without a car, she replied that it was not AAA's policy to refund money and that he received the service he paid for, which was a tow. I guess to AAA, as long as your car is towed SOMEWHERE, they've provided the service. Whether it is delivered to the correct location or not is not a concern of theirs. Our first experience with AAA and wow, what a first impression. My husband asked to speak with a manager and the supervisor said that no one in management has a phone number. Guess they know they'd be getting phone calls from angry customers all day, so they just hide. Needless to say, we'll be cancelling our membership before it renews. Thank goodness we received a "free" membership as part of our T-Mobile plan. I'll be letting them know how worthless and disappointing this "perk" is.

Waste of money
Waste of money. I was in the Houston (Denton?)TX area and broke down at a left turn lane on a very busy road. Called triple A, they never showed up. Thanks to the local police, they radioed in for a tow truck. But when he dropped us off at a garage, we were told that no one in the Houston area would accept the card. Had to pay in cash. My membership renews next month, so I am canceling as I am writing this.

Awfully Service
I have been a member for a few years, and it seems like
They have no clue what they are doing. Because they literally are tried charging Tows that I did not use and they were even charging me for tows before my renewal date. It was clearly in the notes, and they still could not fix it. And wanted me to pay for a tow. I can understand a slight mistake, but they
Charged me with 3 Tows.I did not use.. AWFUL SERVICE.

I have been a steady AAA member until now
I have been a steady AAA member for over a decade now & yesterday when I needed this service the most, I was sadly let down the most! My son needed a ride an hour out of town for work so I of course would be the one to take him, because he couldn't find any other ride. An hour outside of the town he was working, my front passenger tire blew at a little over 70 MPH & I pulled over on the shoulder & contacted roadside assistance. I knew I had a spare tire & figured it would be easiest/fastest for everyone involved if I just request help changing a tire rather getting a tow. I was told it would be within the hour which is expected & I figured acceptable. I didn't sleep the night before & figured I'd get a much needed nap while we wait. After 2.5 hours my son woke me to ask if it was normal to wait so long after the original 60 minutes? So I called AAA again and was told a 2nd time someone would be coming out, but they were receiving high volume in my area so they had to wait on someone to finish other calls, which seemed really strange on the evening on the 3rd of July? More like they couldn't find any other sober person to take the call, because I hadn't seen one person or car stranded on the side of the road and I could see to the horizon, as far as eyes can see and I was alone on this freeway. But whatever she said it would be another 1.5 hours. Another 3.5 hours later, a tow truck pulls up but has to leave to drive 60 minutes away (30 mins there & 30 back) to the nearest town to get air in his air compressor because he just noticed the call was for a blown tire & my spare was low on air, which is so safe & totally what AAA would love for their loyal customers to know that they care about their safety so much, they would actually rather & possibly recommend to their tow drivers to not get the customer in a safe place, instead, leave them on the side of a freeway with cars exceeding 85MPH & not even changing lanes to even more so ensure our safety. I think I would've rather just gotten towed to the nearest town and had my tire changed there but whatever. Needless to say, my son did lose his job, because it was a big event he was working (hence the reason it was so urgent for him to get there) so I ended up getting home just after 5 am, I was waiting on the highway a total of 8 hours for AAA for a simple tire change. Totally worth the $ I spend on my membership- not!

Left my daughter stranded for 7 hours won't reimburse for tow
On June 19th, my daughter (who lives across the country from me) called and let me know that her car was disabled on a rural roadway, blocking traffic. She had already called AAA roadside service.
After an hour and a half, she was still stranded and AAA had not called her with any updates as they had said they would. When she called to get information, they informed her that it would be at least 5-6 hours before they could get a tow to her. They also instructed her to call a private tow and AAA would reimburse her. What my daughter didn't know is that with those instructions, the call-taker canceled the tow.
She called me and gave me an update. I'm a typical dad and always worry about my girls. So, I started calling from 3000 miles away to try and understand what was happening and get her help. Several times, I was informed that they would not be able to talk to me, that it was my daughter's responsibility. When I explained the situation, I would get transferred to another call center (I presume) and have to go through the whole call tree again. Finally, I reached a really nice lady who was in the call service area where my daughter was located.
She informed me that one of their call takers had canceled the tow. She said that the original tow was not listed as a priority for expedited tow. At this point, the call taker put in that she was a young female, blocking traffic on a rural road, stranded for several hours. Because of the length of time my daughter had been out there, the call taker informed me that they would be willing to do an unattended tow so she could get to a safer location. My daughter was not keen on this idea because her hazard lights had already been running for over four hours and she was worried that the battery would die and someone would hit her car.
After about six and a half hours, she had to use the restroom. There was an apartment complex up the road about 1/2 mile, so she asked to use the restroom. While she was walking back, the tow truck finally called. It was now at the seven hour mark. The tow truck driver said the car was gone. It turns out that in the 20 minutes she had walked to use a restroom, the local PD had towed and impounded her car for being abandoned and blocking the roadway.
Because the local police (clerk desk) was celebrating Juneteenth the next day, she had to wait until Monday morning to get her car. It cost her $450.00.
When she attempted to get reimbursed for the tow, AAA informed her that because her car was towed for a legal infraction by the police, they will not reimburse her. I tried calling and talking to them as well. There was no accountability on their part for leaving her stranded and in danger. There was no accountability for giving her the advice to leave her car unattended. All they focused on was that she broke the law and her car got towed because of it.
AAA was negligent in their customer service, actual service, and did not even have the wherewithall to admit that they could have performed better. It was all my daughter's fault in their eyes.
As a member for 10 years, I have rarely used the service, but have felt comforted knowing it is there. Now, I am just disgusted.

Can’t manage to get someone to call me
Haven’t been able to get a hold of the woman processing the claim for the man that hit me. He was found 100% at fault but I still can’t get my car fixed because she won’t answer the phone or call me back.
Seems to be working well for the man who hit me, but they really are useless when it comes to caring for the people and their car that were injured in the accident…

I have been a AAA member for 23 years and pay PLENTY of money every year for not only my membership, but that of my husband's and 2 kids as well. So you'd think that they could provide some better service. The fact that they cannot get a battery truck to me is ridiculous. My choice is to have it towed to a garage, well, that is not going to work. And I would also like to add that for a NATIONAL organization they have way too many REGIONAL rules. Really unimpressed.

Overcharged for tow service
First of all, I have been a member from 2012 and this is the first tome i requested their services. I requested a tow truck servicea tow truck and the driver overcharged me, he stated that the credit card machine/device was not working and I had to pay cash. When I reached to AAA, I was told that without the receipt I will not be able toget my money back. I honestly thought that AAA was a trusted company, and they were more selective when they hire their staff. After all, if the team member is not an honest person, it doesn't fall on them, it affects triple A.

They left my teenage daughter stranded in unknown neighborhood!!
Wouldn't waste my money on AAA ever again. Over 20 years I had them. My teenage daughter was at college when her car broke down in an unknown neighborhood. It was very late at night when she called needing help. They told her someone would be out in an 45 min. Hours went by of her sitting in her locked down broken can on a very cold night. She called AAA 2 or 3 more times and was given the same response. But...they NEVER came! She was able to find a friend to come in the middle of the night and pick her up so she didn't have to sleep in her car. I was livid when I called them the next day!! You left my daughter alone and stranded in an unfamiliar neighborhood!! So much for peace of mind! I will never use or recommend AAA ever again to anyone...in fact I will instead warn them never to trust that company to do what they say they will! Worthless company!!!

Waste of money and time
Waste of money and time. Save money in an envelope in case you need a tow. AAA ruined my car (the tow they called) . I filed a claim, the very lazy person wasted three weeks of my time only to tell me,” the tow company says they did nothing wrong “ case closed. Seriously, save your money, you have zero protections, check me out if you think I am wrong.

Horrible experience
We own two homes. The home we live in, is the one AAA insured. Somehow they found out we own the second home. They assumed we moved and canceled my policy without notifying me. I found out when I had a question for them and called them. That's the only reason I found out. At that point they tried to renew me and of course I declined. Then they notified me that I had over paid and sent me a refund check for several hundred dollars. Several months later they put a collection for $90 on my credit report. I have tried to get answers but they stating they don't know how that could happen and each department blames another department. I quickly found out that I was never going to resolve it on the phone so I visited a AAA office. They said the manager who can help me was at lunch but he would call me as soon as he returned. That was 3 weeks ago and still no phone call. Don't even buy their insurance for a nickel. STAY AWAY!!

We had a tire blowout on our RV and had paid for the upgraded RV coverage through AAA. When we called for service, we provided the make and model, and even confirmed it was an RV. We were told help would arrive within 30 minutes and received a text confirmation.
After that, we couldn’t reach a live person—only an AI system. Three hours later, a tow truck finally arrived, only for the driver to tell us he had been dispatched for a Ford F-150, not an RV, and he couldn’t help. He left, and we had to start the entire process over.
We explained again that we weren’t in a safe location—people were blocked in, growing angry, and we were stuck in a hot vehicle with no water. SIX HOURS went by, and still no assistance from AAA. At 11 p.m., fearing for our safety and nearly out of gas, we ended up paying out of pocket for a mobile tire repair service to get us out of the situation.
AAA completely failed us. This was not just inconvenient—it was dangerous. We will be canceling our membership immediately and will never rely on them again. Travelers beware.

Triple Garbage
Broke down on the side of a major highway in NJ (we live an hour away in PA). Have had AAA for 6 years and used it for the first time yesterday. We have coverage up to a 100 mile tow, and we needed roughly 50. They would not honor that and told us 20 miles maximum due to volume. My *amazing* wife and I sat on the side of the highway for 2 hours while we waited for our uncle with a rollback to get us from an hour or so away. We are blessed to have him because otherwise, AAA did absolutely nothing for us when we needed help. NEVER USING AGAIN.

I have been calling for 3 days to get a jump start on my battery. Fortunately, my car is at home. They keep calling and pushing back the time. Last night I canceled the request. They gave me a time after 7 pm after already waiting 3 hours. I still had to drive to the autoparts store to get my battery replaced (it was still under warranty). I have been waiting for 1 hour. The driver called and said ETA 18 minutes. I am canceling my membership and will make sure I let others know if they're considering AAA.

After 49 years of membership we are DONE
After 49 years of membership, I am not renewing because our last three request for roadside assistance were disasters. The first request for an RV flat tire resulted in AAA telling us they had no one available and maybe they could get someone the next day -the second and third request resulted in no updates and await of several hours beyond what was initially quoted and flat out losing the request I made from the app, which apparently does not work. AAA used to be a wonderful company, but they are now beyond incompetent and definitely not worth what they want for a membership.

AAA tow truck operator phone use while driving tow truck
I wonder how you allow a tow truck operator in Livonia NY to video with his phone while driving through flooded areas. His Facebook profile shows him holding a beer while in a vehicle. He badmouths your customers on his personal account, calling them names. This is all public in Livonia NY group. Then area customers are jerked around and told AAA isn't coming to help them. Maybe if your drivers weren't on social media numerous times posting videos and pictures while driving, people could get the service that they have paid your company for.
