Absolutely seamless experience with Optima…

Absolutely seamless experience with Optima! Great communication throughout the process of getting our small mortgage sorted and a fab, easy to navigate online app. Very efficient, from initial application it was less than 3 weeks to completion and funds in our bank!
Very highly recommended!!

Very poor service…

They are terrible really poor service take days to respond to messages you cannot speak to anyone and when I did they told me to send them a message which took them five days to answer. In the end terminated my application as I lost the will to live. Be warned they are incredible frustrating.

Great Service

We just remortgaged as our fixed rate came to an end. Optima were allocated to our case by the new mortgage company. We were kept informed at every step of the way on the portal. Great service and highly recommended.

Probably ok if everything goes…

Probably ok if everything goes smoothly, impossible to contact anyone or speak to anyone when it doesn't.

No response on the portal, the telephone number goes through to someone who doesn't even have access to my case! I'm not sure what the point of having someone in that position is, I felt bad for the lady.

This is a plea for help, I would be grateful if anyone at Optima Legal can help. Lloyds has already wasted a month getting to this point and we really need to complete soon.

I just spoke to a customer service agent for Optima Legal on 0344 571 3838 just now (1230 on Friday 4th July) to register a formal complaint. She couldn't give me a reference number, didn't have access to my case so I just wanted to have a written record of my formal complaint.

Reason for complaint - Poor customer service, lack of communication, no response through the portal and no way to speak to anyone about the case

Resolution required - The mortgage deed on the portal currently has the address in the wrong format. Lloyds has corrected it from their end and issued the mortgage offer with the correctly formatted address. Kindly reissue the mortgage deed with the address as per the mortgage offer so we can print it, sign it, witness it and get it sent to Optima Legal asap.

Possibly the worst and most useless…

Possibly the worst and most useless solicitors firm I have ever encountered. I had a simple job of a transfer of equity and new mortgage offer to be submitted through Optima legal. They continually sent the wrong documents which caused delays. The legal advisors didn't understand why the documents kept getting bounced. My mortgage offer then overran even though all other parties and solicitors were waiting to complete. 6 months later, Optima still cannot organise a simple tr1 transfer and mortgage offer. Dreadful, dreadful service. Avoid at all costs.

I recently completed a remortgage…

I recently completed a remortgage through Optima Legal, and I’m very pleased with the overall experience. The process was smooth and well-organized from start to finish. I appreciated the regular updates and clear communication at each stage, which helped to keep things on track and gave me peace of mind.

The online portal was user-friendly and made it easy to track progress. Any queries I had were responded to promptly and professionally. The team demonstrated both efficiency and attention to detail, which made what can often be a stressful process feel straightforward.
Thank you to the team at Optima Legal for a seamless remortgage experience I’d be happy to recommend your services to others.

Transparent efficient service

Transparent efficient service. Our queries by email were dealt with effectively and, when we called up in person, our call was answered promptly and our queries fully resolved with someone who plainly had good experience of the process.

Horrendous customer service experience :(

Positive reviews look extremely vague...

Remortgage to a new bank, bank told me " you are one of the last few customers unfortunate enough to be using Optima.."

And sure enough! -
Literally the worst service I have ever experienced.
Telephone -
Everytime you call through, you painstakingly tell the robot your details, 9/10 doesn't work, go through to phone operator, go back on hold, 3/4times hung up on with no answer even after 20+minutes of being on hold.
When you finally get through to someone, they cannot offer any updates, cannot communicate with the solicitor, and tell you to use the portal... why bother paying for customer service phone line?? what do they actually provide? Best case scenerio they message the solicitor on your behalf.

Portal -
Every single time I login in from my phone I need to do the OTP process.. which when I don't have signal doesn't work. When I do get in, email notifications don't align to notifications
The message service doesn't allow for a message chain, or reference to previous mails
2/3 messages don't go answered, and answers that I do get take on average 2 working days, prime example, questions about completion (1st July) were answered 3rd July...

Service -
When changing my mortgage offer, they sent me several emails saying they haven't recieved the offer, the bank actually BCCed me in so I already knew they had it, and simply did not process it.
Ok they got me there in the end, but I have never been so frustrated and untrusting of a solicitor.
Finally £45 for a bank transfer Vs a free cheque is an absolute joke.

Over all diabolical service.

Advice: Provide a dedicated solicitor with name and email, allow 1 hour per day for the solicitor to respond to all client queries. Train your customer service staff to understand the process, have a direct chat with the solicitor, or even better a phone number for the solicitor... or bin your customer service and number completely.
